It absolute ok to trace in art for different purpose like trying to learn how to draw certain things and just general self improvement. Even in art school, there will be assignment where your goal is to copy a given drawing to learn for coloring, shading and general coposition work overall, I recomend tracing for educational purpose and artist of every level as we can always learn smth new from other work. If you are going to trace an art piece only to turn around and say "ya this is my original work", post it publicly without any reference to the original. You are using tracing wrong, I can exuse if a peice share similarity but if we can layer that shit and get a exact one to one in form. People will be right fully piss.

They stole your art, and gave a faceless name a face. Now if Rebecca Sugar were to want to make a spin off or something, she'd probably have to use your design.
Non artists usually can't tell when it's traced or not, especially when the person traces and then slightly change things around. Clearly your art got traced here, and I'm sorry to hear.. It's not even "Inspired" because otherwise it would look completely different
Imagine being a famous, rich and verified TV company whom can literally afford to pay/hire any professional to draw them anything they want and instead of doing the previously mentioned you just take someone's art, changes one thing and then posts it without proper credits to the original artist and only credits them AFTER being called out ( AND STILL NOT CREDITING PROPERLY ) 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
AND ALSO IMAGINE SUPPORTING TRACING JUST BECAUSE A FAMOUS COMPANY DID IT SO YOU THINK IT'S OK BECAUSE IT'S A COMPANY 💀💀💀💀
Your art is so pretty! Glad its solved:)
Aight ima just admit something real quick. I don't do this anymore but I used to trace other people's art.. BUT IT'S NOT LIKE I STOLE IT!! I didn't post it anywhere and claimed it as my own! I only traced over certain parts cuz I wanted to try and get better at things like face expressions, body anatomy, etc. IM not trying to encourage tracing behavior cuz obviously it's ridiculous. But i just wanted to get that off my chest
That's fine if you don't post it or. Anything or claim it as your own
"I mean you give zero (sparkle sounds) about-" the blurs are funny
A company tracing your art is not normaal.
I think your art is amazing and i'm glad i got to find out about this
at least your art got semi-officialized in a way :))
I know I'm very late to this video but I am so sorry this happened to you! I hope whoever was in charge of this thinks of how they embarrassed themselves on the internet every night. I wish I could say I'm surprised that a big company would steal from a smaller artist but I'm happy that at least they did credit you (even if it was done in a passive aggressive manner)
I really love the way you draw Guy Steven. He looks like a princess and it's top notch stuff!!!
Girl I feel so sorry for you I'm a young artist and I can even emphasize how it must feel to get your art stolen by a big company that must feel very bad did they even credit BTW I didn't get to finsh the vid cause of school
It’s such a good inspiration that it looks exactly like the original drawling
Imagine your art being so good that a company traces it
You’re a little late to the video no offense lol
Im a year late
All those people who are named Nora or Steven: Am I , Special?...
Thats really rude, especially beacause its a big company, if your a big company you can't just set a example thats telling people is ok to trace peoples art.
Sorry I'm a YEAR late
I can’t believe a huge company would do something so wrong.
This is so unbelievable I am so sorry this happened to you this is just disrespectful on so many levels like bro wtf
On the bright side, your art got noticed by the show you drew of
Awww I’m so sorry that your drawing got traced! This is horrible! How could they do this? Btw, your artwork is amazing!
I would be happy from this because it shows your art is that good
Altho they def should not traced it
The thing is, why didn’t they just ask? 😭 are they that prideful that they didn’t wanna ask a random person on the internet to use their picture for ref or something? Like I’m quite sure NO ONE would reject 💀 they legit tried to take advantage over the fact that they felt like no one would recognize ur art
A bit off topic but I really like your art and i find it a bit annoying that people would trace and copy from you, keep up the good work and stay strong!
Remember kids: tracing is ok if you're using it to learn, not to steal art
I really like how you colored steven its just wow 💗👏
I understand, gender swaping the gems don't make sense, also, Your art is AMAZING!!! Your design is truly unique and Beautiful!
I used to be in the SU community when i was just a little kid and it was..decent, but im sorry that happened!
Im a new subscriber! And im soo sorry for what happened :(( but also.. HOW IS UR ART MADE IN IBISPAINT?! omg im so bad at using ibispaint 😭🤚
I can’t believe this video got taken down
No it didn’t
People have no respect for artists whatsoever 🤦♀️ Smh
Yeah there's been alot of art theft going on and i just hope you and other creator's can get recognized for your art and not be stolen
Imagine making fan art for a show and then the show traces that and it’s now in the show. That would be crazy and weird
New fav artist and commentator unlocked 🫶
Worst fact is, if you didn't call them out and your fans, they wouldn't have shown credit
When I do trace, I keep it to myself and usually just use it to get better at drawing or just for fun, but I never post it
And you’re absolutely right. That’s how we learn, after all
This is why I'm scared of showing my art
Sasha: "Now I'm wondering if they didn't trace the chocolate bar as well"
Me: *Looks down at my partly eaten chocolate bar*
Also Me: "Oh no..."
you know you’re a good artist when you make art of a character and the company who made the character originally traces your art
Damn Nickelodeon was desperate af if they hired a “artist” like that
I notice that alot of TH-cam artists like you use IBIS Paint. And I'm just wondering if this was on a phone or if you found a way to use it on other devices (i.e. Laptop and or PC) because so far I've only been able to use it on my phone.
With enough knowledge on how to get apps on computer (and computer programs on your phone) you probably can though I imagine it be hard
Yea, you can use it on pc
Idk why this matters but I saw this video before I had a yt account, and that speaks VOLUME about how long ago this was
bros art was so good a whole company traced it :sob:
LMAO
Just to clarify, most people don't steal ftom artist specifically because they think our art is just so good, they do it cos they're lazy or they lack skill. It isn't a compliment when people steal your art. It really sucks
I bet they expected you to say “Omg! Cartoon Network used my art! This is amazing!”
they didnt trace the candy bar, they legit copy pasted it. i remember seeing that candy bar lol
im so sorry this happened to you :(
Ig its canon now lol
