I have been going to the gym for about a month with a trainer, and I still didn't know what to do if I didn't have a trainer with me until I saw your video. This is the best, hands-down tutorial I have ever come across. No need for a trainer anymore. Cheers, Tim!
Thanks for your comment. Please keep in mind, correct exercise technique during your workouts is only 1 of the numerous benefits you should get from working with a good PT. Hope your training is going well.
Thanks a lot for your comment. Very happy to hear you’ve just started going to the gym. No doubt you’ll see great progress towards your goals 💪 Glad it’s a useful video. Always here if I can help
Thank you for sharing. I’m just now getting back into weight training after several years absent. As a young person my focus was to look good, well beauty fades and now 30 plus years later my focus is to be strong, live an abundant life full of activities and most of all be fit for my grandkids. I hired a personal trainer and I’m on my way to reaching my short and long term goals. I will say working out with weights and drinking lots of water has boosted my energy level immediately. Wow what I have been missing all these years. Come on you older folks get in the gym and don’t feel intimated by the younger generation along side you because many of them are helpful and want to see you succeed.
Please laugh with me. Because honestly I'm laughing at myself. And that's good. So check it, the reason I'm here is because I recently went to the gym again after not going for a long while. The trainer was taking me on a machine tour teaching me each machine that she incorporated into the workout she prepared for me. Well, (and this is where i laugh at myself). I've completely forgotten what each machine looks like and how they're used😊😅😅😅. She did give me a chart with my personal workout printed so here I am with chart in hand looking for each machine by name and learning how to use them so I won't be completely humiliated at the gym😅😅😅😅 even tho she did her job of explaining them to me. This is why I ended up on this vid. Ahhhhhh to be 62 and completely forgetting the lesson😅😅😅😅. Wish me luck guys. ❤
Lol I hope you are doing well. Continuing your workout. Your funny! I have being working out for quit a while and I still have to look up tutorial on TH-cam. Kudos keep up your workout. 😊👍🏼🏋🏽♂️
Thanks alot!!! as a beginner now I'm not really intimidated on going to the gym now that I understand how these machines work and what muscles they target. A straight forward and helpful vid.
Man, you have done a terrific job with the Upper Body tutorial video.(One of the best i ever saw) Allow me to ask a couple of question, fi you dont mind: 1- How often, in your exepreicen could one performe this Upper body workotu? 2- How many workiing sets per exercises, would you advise? 3- For those how prefer a Full body workout and also cant go to the gym more than 3 times a week, is ok to use the upper body workout in a full body workout or would you decrease the total amount of Upper body exercises?(Example: only doing one pushing and pulling exercise per workout session) Thank you. I agree with all the positive comments I've just read! Excellent instructional video about the machines and how to use them. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience to help others. I will be using what I've learnt from you.
Hey John, thank you for your comment. It's very much appreciated. I'm glad to hear the video was useful. Always here if you have any questions about anything.
We're a senior couple and would like to start resistance training on machines, perhaps twice a week. Can you outline which body parts to start and finish with in a full-body workout? I don't want to incorporate certain days for certain body parts. I really liked how you explained alternating the push/pull method. Please elaborate more if possible.
Hey Harry, thank you for your comment and question. My latest video is exactly on this topic. Check it out and let me know if you have any further questions.
Thank you for your comment and feedback. I'm glad the video was useful. Let me know if you have any video suggestions that could help you out on your journey.
Thank you for your comment. I’m glad it’s been helpful. There’s a video on lower body machines as well as a recent video I posted on some common exercise mistakes (also lower body).
Do you think you would be able to make a video about lifting weights? Like chest and deadlifts and stuff - if you haven’t yet so. I would appreciate it!
Oh my god you’re so amazing how did i just found out about you. Thankyou for the video, amazing explanation, such a good teacher im following everything effortlessly. Thankyou Thankyou
I bow to your experience, you matched my gym 1:1 even with barnd of machines. Can i train my upper body only using these machines? I struggle with classic dumbbells
Thank you for your comment Michael. I'm glad the video is useful. Sure, you can train your upper body with machines only, make sure you are keeping it balanced with the number of Push/Pull exercises. At the same time, I would definitely recommend practicing free-weight exercises with light weights to learn proper technique so that you can incorporate them into your routine in the future.
Hello, first of all thanks for the precise explanations. My question is : Should we inhale when we pull the eqipment like the Lat pull down, and exhale when we release the tension from the shoulders and upper body. Is this correct way of inhaling and exhaling?🙂
Thank you for your comment and question. Generally speaking, you want to inhale during the easier part of the rep and then exhale right after the most difficult point of the rep.
5:14 As far as I understand, if it is pulled all the way it will not activate the target muscle the best way. But my question is 1. Will it harm the target muscle? Question 2, if we pull to the end, doesn't that activate some other muscles + terget muscle? Also great video, I ask just to learn more.
Hey Karlo, thank you for your comment and question. it's not necessarily pulling down all the way that's the problem. It's ending up with rounded shoulders when trying to pull down all the way which makes the exercise less effective at training the target muscles. Yes, if you can pull all the way down with good form, yes, that's great. For a full video on the Lat Pull-down technique, please check out this video. Hey Muhammad, thanks a lot for your comment and question. It all depends on you. My latest video is exactly on this subject, I highly recommend you check it out.
You deserve way more subscribers thank you. I used to have 1 workout plan for each visit, now I do all 4 in one visit. It takes 6-10 hours. Do you think 72 hour recoveries are too long? Sometimes I want to go more often and at times I just want to live at the gym. Should I take more time to recover? Some people say five days even.
@@jaysimpson6857 yeah lately its been every 3-5 days, its mainly because it's a 35 minute walk to the gym so I might as well get it all. That way I also rest it all.
@@dinosanchez8528 That’s crazy, I train for no more than 20 minutes 6 days a week though I used to train for 1 hour with a personal trainer 3 times a week. I suppose I shouldn’t be so shocked because I guess there’s plenty of people with manual jobs that are equivalent to all day gym sessions.
@@jaysimpson6857 honestly brother, I just want to walk out sometimes but I always remember what Joe Rogan said, finish everything or you get used to cutting yourself short (I'm paraphrasing). If I had a vehicle I'd cut the workouts in half.
What do we do if we are of a shorter stature and the chest press machine doesnt allow us to adjust the seat high enough so the handles are at chest level? Does that mean we just cant use the machine?
Hi John, thank you for your comment and question. In that case, I would try and place yoga blocks on the seat to adjust the machine correctly. Perhaps some weight plates and then a mat on top might also work. The free-weight alternative for this exercise would be a dumbbell bench press which of course is a great option too. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your comment and question Jamie. The purpose of this video is to explore the technique for each upper body machine, it's not exactly a workout video. So the exercise order of the workout which you want to follow will depend on yourself, your training goals. I do have videos on the channel which explain the programming aspect more.
Thanks for your comment and question. There are numerous training programmes. I have quite a few videos on choosing the programme most suitable for you on the channel. Hope they help out.
