    Thank you so much for this video, it works like a charm. we are useing 2020.2 was better but now with 2020.3.x LTS HDRP is stable, we had 0 nada crashes

      I tried to switch to 2019, but it had a lot of bugs.
      When I started learning I didn't know anything about making games.
      I was learning on TH-cam and making my first game by myself.
      Now that I know better, my second game will be with the latest Unity version.

      yeah, a 2070 super, unfortunately, its only on RTX gpus as of now.

    Raytraced reflections seem to work great in editor, but the effect seems to be completely disabled in builds. Is there a way to fix this or is HDRP not build ready with raytracing?

    Great video! However, while you may not need light probes you still need reflection probes. When I turned mine off there was alot of white light all over the place and the textures were bleached.

      Hey, HDRP 12 (Unity 2021.2) offers better fallback system to prevent this. The volume override is called "Ray Miss" (it's also valid for RT GI), if you set it to "None", it will not leak.

      It is used by default, that is why it was not "included". It is taken for granted. A basic given.

    Weird, I followed everything. Same project and same Ambient Occlusion settings but it's always noisy even with the denoiser on

    Why do ray-traced shadows casted by a spotlight disappear when viewed at certain seemingly random angles? Is this a bug or a limitation?

      Hey, you can stick to "Default". You only need to check "Receive SSR/SSGI" if you want to use SSR/SSGI.

      Hey, any hardware-accelerated raytracing GPU (with DXR support). This means RTX GPUs from NVIDIA, or AMD equivalent.
      BTW, I used a 2070 Super in this video.

      Sorry to hear this, this must be very irritating. You should seriously look into using a source control software. Backing up an important project every few months is absolutely not recommended.

      GTX 1080 is possible but expect very low performance on RayTracing
      i would say RTX 2060 will be the minimum for RayTracing

    Unity 2021.3.21f1 update, tanks frame rate to 15 fps when any raytracing is enabled at all. its useless. RTX 3060 card.

    tried to follow along but Unity keeps on crashing when I turn on Ray Tracing. Unity 2020.2.2f1 .. you guys really need to fix your bugs

Is that so crazy to assume? I know we are all running different hardware but I also use UE on this machine and turning on raytracing doesn't crash the editor ...

    Can anyone recommend me any laptops for ray tracing? As well as 3d animation and more?.....especially when I'm working during vacations so that I don't have to go to campus everyday.

    its fantastic but GPUs need to be 100x or 500x more powerfull to have path tracing , and the path tracing is wonderfull . Dont worth the money to buy a RTX3090 just to have a mixed raytracing . Well its my opinion . But its like the BF5 its not a big deal .

    Still probably isn't worth the payoff for many games, but it definitely is great to offer, since it's not that hard to expand settings with ray tracing!

      @@pinkitho Its ok that Unity has options and possibilities for programers, but in my opinion its loosing its "mojo". Now you need to be an expert in programming, PBR, image postprocessing, Hardware GPU, render pipelines etc to make a single scene with a teapot.

      I do think they should keep their old shader mechanics.

    When will 3d development software build their UI to dynamically group all the settings in one place. OK, so you want to turn on Ray Tracing click here. BAM the program opens one UI with all the things to set up. It would be hard this after all most 3d apps are a data base at hart.

      This is so true. Trying to figure out how to make use of the new stuff is mountains of trial-and-error that makes you pull your hair out.
      "Sure you enabled this feature here and here, but you missed this dialog hidden behind this button of this dialog, hidden in the drop menu in this dialog and you're lacking this setting file and this component attached to gameobject X, which means you got NOTHING."

    GPU lightmapper doesnt work, always falls back to CPU and CPU baking takes hours.... UE5 can do the same and look even gerather without any bake! :)

      Bruh the GPU lightmapper does work and it's blazing fast. Also with RTGI there's much less need for baking, did you watch the video you're commenting on?
      UE5 is looking fine overall but Lumen is no substitute for real raytracing, especially reflections are looking exactly as bad as SSR and old cubemaps.
