  • We spent the last few days of our motorcycle roadtrip through Vietnam completing the Ha Giang Loop, a CRAZY loop through northern Vietnam that has epic landscapes, quaint villages, and so much more. It's hard to put into words what we experienced on this trip, but it is a few days that we will never forget.

    You guys did come across a few obstacles there, but you persevered and kept on. Just like life, without trials and tribulations, you won't have anything to compare it to...it also makes for better stories in the future when you're old and can no longer do adventurous trips like this. :)

    Allo from Canada..will be doing the same, wondering if it's easy to get around ? I shloud I get guided tours that cost an arm and a leg or rent a bike and go on my own..?
    I'm an experienced motorcyclists but over there that means nothing, it's so hectic.
    I am just wondering if it's easy to understand the roads and map

    • @megandmiketravels
      @megandmiketravels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's definitely a personal decision. The roads are much busier and more narrow than back home, but Mike didn't find them too bad - he was extra cautious, slow, and we avoided all major cities. We know many people who have chosen to go on the guided tours for Ha Giang so they could focus on the views instead of driving and they absolutely loved it. We chose to rent our own bike (starting in Hoi An and ending in Ha Giang after the loop) and we found navigation not to be an issue. Make sure you download offline maps and google translate and you'll be fine! If you decide not to ride a bike, Vietnam also has an extensive public transportation system that is easy to navigate! Have the best time!

      It was freezing in Dong Van. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Wife not as much. Also had some bike issues. First town I got a local mechanic to change the oil. It was a black thick shake. Then the starter motor gave up so it was kick start and rolling start from then on. Kick starting in morning was very difficult. I would do it again for sure. Take a few different routes.
