A Canadian couple who decided to drop everything to travel around the world. Using this as space for us to share our journey with family and friends! Thanks for following along :)
BIKING DEATH ROAD IN BOLIVIA
A lot of people skip Bolivia in their South American itineraries and we do not understand why. This adventure filled country blew us away and we are so happy to have travelled through it with Alex and Ramona! Oh and did we mention... we biked the world's most dangerous road?

THE CRAZIEST WONDER OF THE WORLD!
Brazil was a lot of things, but we have to say we weren't expecting Christ the Redeemer to be so busy! After we got through the crowds we got to explore so many other places around Brazil that were AMAZING.
IGUAZU FALLS + SHORT VISIT TO PARAGUAY
We stopped off in Iguazu Falls before taking a bus to Paraguay. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, we LOVED these falls (even more than Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe)! After we explored the falls, we headed west to Paraguay where we met with a lovely guide who toured us around Asuncion, took us to a market, and hooked us up with tickets to our first ever football (soccer) match!
THE BEST OF PATAGONIA
Argentina was a clear winner of Patagonia for us - cheap stays, good food, and INCREDIBLE treks. We absolutely loved it!
NORTH TO SOUTH PATAGONIA (CHILE)
We actually didn't know we were in Northern Patagonia until we were told by a local while hiking - so we started in the North and then headed south to trek the most iconic hike in Torres del Paine National Park!
BUENOS AIRES TO NORTHERN CHILE
We probably had a little too much fun in Mendoza, but it was worth every ounce! From there, we headed over to Valparaiso where we were treated with street after street of beautiful artwork!
BUENOS AIRES TO URUGUAY!
We aren't really city people but we absolutely love BA! We also love that it is so close to Uruguay that we were able to hop on a ferry for a quick trip to a new country!
ROAD TRIP THROUGH SOUTH AFRICA
We had such an amazing couple of weeks road tripping through South Africa, Eswatini, and Lesotho. Lesotho definitely surprised us the most!
TWO WEEKS IN NAMIBIA
Namibia seems to be the top of a lot of people's bucket lists and we can see why! With only two weeks to explore this beautiful country we packed as much as we could in with Mike's parents!
CAMPING IN OKAVANGO DELTA
We weren't sure what we were getting into with this one but we LOVED our time in Chobe National Park and the Okavango!
WHALE SHARKS IN MOZAMBIQUE
We had a week in Mozambique to recuperate after camping and overlanding Africa for five weeks. We also had to figure out how to get new passports sent to Africa from Canada! A HUGE thank you to our friends Sol and Nico for the incredible GoPro footage.
THE CRAZIEST CAMP IN AFRICA + VICTORIA FALLS!!
When we camped in Zambia we couldn't believe what we saw! There were so many visitors to our camp it totally blew our minds. After Zambia, we headed to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to see if it was worth the hype!
WE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS IN MALAWI!
With only a few days to travel across Malawi, we did not expect to have much for cultural experiences BUT the people of Malawi had different plans for us. We were welcomed with open arms, made wonderful friends, and had so much fun.
SLEEPING NEXT TO LIONS IN THE SERENGETI!
The Serengeti was a WILD experience. Although the sheer number of animals didn't come close to what we saw in Kenya, we still saw so many animals and it was absolutely insane. We also had a wonderful time in Zanzibar - it was totally different than the rest of our African experience!
WE WENT TREKKING WITH GORILLAS IN UGANDA
Dreams came true with this one. A Jane Gooddall approved trek with gorillas meant that we were the only group (a total of 8 people) with the family of gorillas that day and we were limited to a one hour visit. It exceeded every single expectation and the hour went by so fast! We also enjoyed a day trip to Rwanda, some communities in Uganda, and seeing chimpanzees in the wild!

such a cool episode guys, hope we can come back to South America one day to explore Bolivia as well :)
Thank you!!! Bolivia is sucha great country for adventure!
Looks like there’s a lot of stuff to do in Brazil outside of the cities, hopefully Bolivia was just as good 👍.
We loved Rio, but loved everything outside the cities more!! Bolivia was incredible!
Enjoyed your Vietnam videos, also planning a trip there. I've noticed several motorbike riding adventures in this country from Canadians, English etc. How did you obtain a legal licence to ride? (I'm from Australia which is also a 1949 IDP country)...thanks.
We actually didn't (we have an IDP but we didn't bother obtaining the Vietnamese licence and just risked it) - we heard that tourists typically don't get pulled over outside of major cities so we avoided all major cities, which resulted in a couple longer days, but didn't have any issues! We were pulled over in other countries (I.e. Thailand, where our IDP w/ moto class was sufficient), but we lucked out in Vietnam!
@@megandmiketravels Thanks, look us up if you have any Australian adventures, we're lucky enough to live across the Bay from K'gari (Fraser Island), there's always room.
Love the video! What time of year did you visit Ha Giang?
Thanks! We did it in January :)
2:03 You call that wet?!?! Have you been to the UK?! 😂
Lol!! I swear the camera didn’t capture how crazy it really was!!!
what litre was your 2 wheel car? am planning on taking a 2 wheel drive but everyone says to take a 4x4
Here are the wiki details about the car we had - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyundai_Creta We posted a little bit more about the car on our "OMAN ROAD TRIP!" video :) Have a great time!!!
It's amazing dear friends!!! Wish you more great experiences!!!
Thank you so much 🙏
Another reason to go to Patagonia. 😀
SO MANY REASONS! We want to go back!!!
wow this looks like an incredible experience! such a cool vlog guys 🤩
Thanks!!! A little late making this but it was fun looking back at all the memories!
Great capture of the amazing scenery of the place around to visit, enjoy and thanks for the tour
Thanks for watching!!!
Great my dear friends!!! The rugged beauty of Oman is well enjoyed!!❤❤
Thank you very much! We really loved it!
The roads is for professionals, not for amateurs. Luckily you survived the trips. Thanks to God ! Be more carefully nest time !
Definitely need to know what youre doing!
How cool do you think it is to see the two of you in a bed rather than life scenes from Koh Lamta 😕
Never claimed to be cool 🤷♀️ 🤷♂️
What restaurant was the bbq fish?
I wish we could remember the name! It was one of the last ones along the beach front!!
Hope you are both okay
Thank you! We are just taking a little break :)
Experiance
Such a great experience!
Yet more countries to add to my bucket list. 🤩 You two have gone to some amazing places.
It is such a colourful place to visit! We think you'd like it!
8:37 That is a mighty-looking Glyptodon!! also 9:42 How very Canadian 😆 I remember you guys talking about where to go in Buenos Aires on Instagram, it's so cool seeing what you saw in video form. 🙂
Thanks for continuing to follow along with both!!
I didn't know South Africa had snow that time of year, very interesting. Glad you got to experience two of Africa's three kingdoms, if only briefly (those rhinos 🤩), those accommodations looked cosy. Shame about that drone (even if I did giggle slightly, sorry). Heading to Cape Town this year, so I get some idea what might happen there, so thanks, great video. 👍
We think you will really love Capetown, can't wait to see what you get up to!
That looks incredible, you guys really lucked out on the sheer quantity of animals there! So many Elephants and Zebras. Seems like you did a self-driving version of the G Adventure tour some of the others went on. You've given me so much to look forward too when I go on the continuation tour later this year. 😁
Namibia was the best "bang for our buck" experience in Africa, we were really blown away!
This was a pretty interesting video Mama thank you for taking us along on your journey
Thanks for coming along :)
Enjoyed each of the different places you visited here. And love the smiles you always have, even when the bus leaves you trekking 7 kms and when the weather turns bad!!
All part of the adventure!!!
That looks unreal!! I'm so looking forward to going there next year, so I'm glad I got to see what's in store for when I'm going. The Elephant and Hippo clips look astonishing (and those Lions are as BAD as the Ngorongoro Hippos 🤣).
You are going to love it so much!!! Will you go to Namibia as well?
@@megandmiketravels Yeah, planning on starting from where we left off, from Vic Falls to Cape Town, thinking of going early July.
what a dream adventure!
We thought so! So grateful!!
Wow those falls are beautiful even in the bad weather! Paraguay looks so colourful! How nice that the tour guide took you along to the market. xx
Honestly the best tour guide! If you ever make it over to asuncion let us know and we will hook you up!
Wow
A pretty spectacular place!
what an incredible landscape! Chile is truly breathtaking country, we hope to make it to Patagonia as well. safe travels, looking forward to your next adventures! 😍
Patagonia is one of our favourite places on earth! We hope you get to visit!!
Awesome glacier experience for you. The mountains are very different from our Rockies. Hiking--you won't be able to sit still when you come home!! Incredible year of following you.
Very different from the Rockies but still reminded us of home! The glacier was really something else
I know what you mean by having some R&R, after three weeks in East Africa (mostly on that bus), I needed a holiday from my holiday. Glad you were able to recover and get those passports. 😊
So happy the passport situation was sorted!! Hopefully you got some rest before going back to work!
@@megandmiketravels Yeah, plenty of films on Turkish Airlines to keep me entertained, great food too. Made sure to get an extra day off work to recover before returning. 😁
Where did you book the train tickets? Any recommend website for this please?
We just used 12go.asia!
1:22 She was both “Not 50 meters away”, and not-so-subtlety telling us to move. 😅 3:37 You can never be “safari-ed out”, I went on two that day (only saw a leopard from a distance on the second one). 4:55 Good to know, I want to go there again next year (zipline/bungee 😁)
Zip line would be so fun! I think we’d both be too nervous to do the bungee 😂
@@megandmiketravels Fair Enough.
Great bonding in this beautiful and amazing scenery of the place around thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for watching! It’s one of our favourite places in the world!!
So much to say about Malawi, I'll try and condense it: 1. The people selling you things WILL sell you something (don't ask), so the fact that they gifted you something like that is fantastic. 2. This children there are so friendly, I think I had four of them holding my hands at one point after that dinner. 3. Beer there is VERY well priced. 4. The beaches there are amazing, and the water of Lake is so cool. 5. I'm still BAFFLED at the way the both of you mispronounced your country's name. Losing my sandals and the insect bites were frustrating but it was overall a great experience.
I think you were the only person in our group who swam! We thought you were really brave.
@@megandmiketravels Thank you. Although they made sure to tell us not to swim at night because of crocodiles (some of the locals even warned me).
I won't need a reminder to NOT hike with you two!!
Hahaha!! We went a little crazy in Patagonia!
Did u hike the full 22km?
We did! In total we hiked just over 100km in a week!
Whoa 😮
That leg of the trip was wild, in more ways than one! I think you might have seen the tail end of the Great Migration whilst you were on the Maasai Mara, I was disappointed I missed it too. 😔 2:15 That Lioness hunt happened so quickly, and so unexpected as well (considering we probably saw members of the same pride acting like housecats earlier)! We all got pretty sunburnt that evening 😅. I gotta admit, the camp looked amazing at dawn, I'll have to send you pictures of what it was like from the balloon. 😄 4:55 There were a few zebras there at dusk, I remember trailing them for a while before it got too cold at the camp. 🥶 The hotel in Zanzibar was blissful, and the Indian Ocean was so warm too. Pretty heavy stuff in Stone Town. 😢 I recorded so many time lapses through the Baobab Valley, so many trees. 🌳
Would love to see the photos from the balloon!!!! It was all such an incredible adventure
Another G Adventure to add to my list! 😁 Was it the Gorilla Overland trip? I didn't know that there an option for a Rwanda day trip with that.
We actually didn’t know there was a day trip to Rwanda option until we got there! It was the Kenya-Uganda trip! We can send you the link to the tour we did if you want the exact one!
5:34 That Cheetah looks incredible, I remember seeing one with a kill after the hot air balloon on the Serengeti, couldn’t see what she was eating though. And that was on top of one I saw wondering the plains (not far from some gazelle).
We are still so jealous of your hot air balloon experience!!! Such a once in a lifetime opportunity!!
@@megandmiketravels And I’m jealous that you managed to get such amazing shots of big cats and rhinos. I’m hoping to see some next time I head to Africa.
Mendoza sounds like some kind of Italian mafia clan
Hahha when in reality it’s beautiful wine country!!! Too funny 😂
You went to Bellavista, quite dangerous and dirty place. And after that to Valparaiso... the most dangerous and even dierter place in the whole country right now. This is because both places have communists city majors. Sorry about that, unfortunately your friend did not know very much for a day in Santiago. Maybe next time, have a great trip. Hope you can see next time better places.
We knew we were going to Bellavista and Valparaiso, we really loved both communities!!
How was the sleeper train? Did you actually sleep?
It was great!! One of the better ones we took in Asia. We slept well :)
Hey thanks for doing this comparison. My husband and I are very similar to you two and I even laughed about your friends being proud of you for staying up past 10 pm so I knew you're experience was a great review for us. Thanks!
I love this!!! Definitely check out ko pants then!! We really wish we would have gone to Koh Lipe as well, it looks up our alley!
hey guys are you currently in Chile? 😍because we are so just wondering 🤩
I wish!!! Would be so fun to catch up with you guys in person! We are up in Peru now, we’re pretty behind sharing on TH-cam 🫢
oh we see@@megandmiketravels safe travels and enjoy! maybe next time 🤩
Glad you enjoyed the vino and the art work! Each video shows the uniqueness of our world as well as so many helpful folks who populate the world!
It’s pretty incredible how diverse this wonderful world is!!
Now there’s a bucket list destination for the spring. 😁
It would be so nice in spring! Not so hot 🥵
Which month did you go to Ha Giang?
We were there in January!
@@megandmiketravels ok thank you. We're heading there end of February.
Definitely very different - but we have to say both were friendly in our experience! Thanks for watching!!
That looks amazing, Georgia looks like such an amazing country to go to, definitely have to go there. (Personally I wouldn’t go to Azerbaijan though)
We really loved Georgia and would love to go back and hike more there!!
That was fun! And tiring, I would say!!
Definitely tiring, but worth it!!
what a crazy journey!🤩 love this episode guys, good job
Thank guys!!!
