- The world famous train ride from Kandy to Ella lived up to its expectations! While it was a little hectic getting tickets and situated on the train, we eventually got to enjoy hanging out the side of the train car and stunning views. After we got to Ella, the adventure continued with tea plantations! We walked through, biked through, and stayed at the beautiful plantations and also had the opportunity to tour one of the fabulous tea factories where we learned so much!

Take the train back from Ella to Ohiya. You can do the famous world's end hike from there.

Dont forget the train rides to Anuradapura and Polonaruwa ancient kingdoms. Fishing Huts Maskeliya, Kataragama, Arugam Bay, Ritigala, Worlds End, Wilpattu. Use the railway map of sri lanka as a guide. Can cover 99% of Sri Lanka with rail and busses without Tuk Tuks. Yes, reserved seating is a must on the train. Ask the railway where the 2nd class rail cars stops on the plat form so you dont have to run when the train arrives. Overcharging is common in cities so be sure to ask prices from 2-3 vendors before buying anything especially safari jeeps and Tuk Tuks.

Very nice couple, don't take risks going to the cliff' edges and doing selfies and videos sitting/standing on the footboard of the train, unless the other one is vigilantes holding you or checking whether any point any tree/plant branches touching the train body when you keep your heads and body out of the train at the door way's...
