So glad I ran into your channel! I’ve just started my fountain pen collection and I can already feel the obsession mounting. I have a Twsbi mini in white and rose gold on the way 😍
The thing about acquiring fountain pens is that it can quickly become very addictive! And it's actually not a bad addiction to have. Gorgeous pens by the way. 😍
Thanks for sharing your collection, I love seeing other people's pens! I'm an avid journaler and illustrator and I mostly work with ink and watercolor when I work in analog form. My faves have always been flex nibs and Fude nibs because of that sweet line variation. One of my first fountain pens was a Noodler's Ahab, maybe 15 years ago, which is still one of my all time faves next to my Duke Fude. I've been trying to chill a bit on the pen buying, but I have a couple more that are on my wish list before I stop all together: the jinhao x750 g fountain pen super flex zebra g nib and a BlueDew Flex in white.
This is such a lovely collection!! 😍 I see a few of my own personal faves and also some still on my wishlist - I think we have very similar tastes in fountain pens lol 🥰 thanks so much for sharing!!
@@justusspace definitely the pilot custom 823 sometime this year!! 🤩 But kinda floating around on the kinda-want-and-might-buy-later are the pilot decimo and sailor mini 👀
@@celerydays I support your 823 decision because its just such an easy pen. It holds a ton of ink and writes well without needing any DIY in my experience and many others’. For the decimo, if you have a VP it can wait but if you dont, Id put it ahead of the Sailor! The Sailor Minis are precious and feel cute in the hand, but aren’t really anything /amazing/ when it comes to writing imo. The price in my opinion is because of how cute they are. Sailor nibs that Ive used to this point are a bit less smooth/wet, which is great for when Im writing in Chinese for example, but don’t make me feel anything special when in English if that makes sense
Thanks for this historical portal into my own early collecting experience- you brought back all the sensory wonder and discovery! (And, many years later, it’s still there…)
What a fun comment!! I’d love to know how long youve been collecting, and what you find your pen niche is. :) Im in a phase right now where gold coloured hardware and m/f nibs are my ideal. I have a particular affinity for any pens that are pink/purple as well…
@@justusspace First, you must know about the Pilot Justus 95, right? An exceptionally cool pen with an adjustable nib from hard to soft-mine is among my favorites.
You can open the barrel and use a cotton bud on your 823. It’s very simple to do, the barrel is very tough… :) Also you could ask on Reddit for a nib swap! :) lovely collection! I also love pocket pens.
That is a great question! I have considered it, though I am unrealistically afraid that it will get lost in the mail since it’s such a sentimental pen for me. What I may do down the line though is see if I can get it adjusted in person at a pen show, because it really is a shame that my Cavalier is mainly an ornament.
I went from a pilot metropolitan to a twsbi eco-t a few years ago, thinking I’d upgrade again fairly soon Instead I bought two more twsbi ecos pretty much immediately 😂 And I have the same experience with the medium nib being particularly buttery smooth!
I only have Pilot Metropolitan because of cost, but also because they use cartridges - easier for me. Do the TWSBI, or Vanishing Point allow for cartridge use?
Does the trap door on your VP all align with perfect symmetry? I just got one and when I look into the barrel the visible horizontal piece is a little off center and tilted (slightly).
Im not sure if I just dont notice anything off or if there genuinely isnt anything off, but I just took a look at each pen and they look to all be aligned! Id maybe encourage reaching out to the shop you purchased from or Pilot if it bothers you. :)
@@justusspace thank you! I have since gone back to the retailer and when they showed me their other VP's it was all off by a little (to my ADHD like eyes) ... so I'm ok now, hah. Also if there was any issue then the ink would dry pretty fast. Awesome collection!!
@@MatthewChenDirector okay I am so glad there is nothing wrong with your vp!!! If my eyes were as detail driven as yours, I think Id try my hand at being a nib smith 🤩
I love it. The clip doesnt bother how I write at all, it’s a heavy and quality feeling pen, and it’s very convenient. I think it’s worth the money. If youre rough with your pens, know that they will scratch, but so far I have only managed to dent my decimo and the true Vanishing Points remain undented after years of use. Theyre one of my favorites. :-)

Interesting selection. Have you considered having that Pilot looked at by someone from Pilot Pens?

Hi ✨, love those!.
Do you think that winsor ink on gold color can work in a fountain pen?

The pilot metro was also my first, and will always have a special place in my heart, but man the TWSBI has a death grip on me
I love twsbi’s
I only have Pilot Metropolitan because of cost, but also because they use cartridges - easier for me. Do the TWSBI, or Vanishing Point allow for cartridge use?
The TWBI pens are piston fill only, but the Vanishing Points allow for cartridges! Thatd be a good option for you. :)
There's a newish twsbi called Swipe that allows for cartridges
