I bought the green a little over a year ago and my CH brown is making its way to me at the moment and honestly the colours on both are gorgeous and I’d be happy with either. I also received a brown traveler’s company TN which is a colour I’ve never had before and the inside of it is so soft I’m obsessed.

Hello, I got the A6 version ($49 for Hobonichi 5-yaer; $47 for the natural leather) of this from Jenni Bick and I don't know if I would agree with the takeaways. The A5/A6 5-Year Techno are designed for durability, weight, and mobility hence the premium lightweight paper and the waterproof soft cover. Otherwise, people can just buy hardcover Midori/Leuchtturm/Custom Tomoe 5-Year Notebooks. The leather cover is thin enough that it will also lay flat like the notebook when writing and break in super quickly. The thing about equating leather thickness and quality is that I have never even seen leather get worn down beyond the surface level regardless of how thick it is and how used it is (such as on leather jackets' zippers.) I would rather have a thin high quality cover than a heavy and bulky one that I can get anywhere on Etsy.

That hobonichi cover is way overpriced, the green Galen leather is stunning .

Diplomat Excellence A2 Skyline blue, steel F nib I might make a video inspired by yours and I'm curious to see if my choices change when I've had time to think about it.

Fun video and great choices! Thank you for sharing. I also lean towards thicker pens because I too grip my pen in the same crazy way, haha! My 5 pens would be my Pilot Vanishing Point, Santini Libra, Aurora Optimum, Esterbrook Estie and an indestructible Lamy Safari.

Great video. I couldn't find the link to the wax beads you used. I understand that pouring the wax into a washer will give you a more regular shape. Secondly keeping the seal on some ice gives a better impression.

(20:15) I love this concept for pen channels, and I hope more people in this space do this. I get bored and a tad icked out with haul vids or the waves of reviews of the latest acquired pieces that everyone just purchased. I find that puts me in the mindset that I now need to have it too, and that's just not healthy. I've removed myself from that mindset by unsubscribing to those types of channels because that isn't who I am. I fully embrace you and those that chit-chat with/ about the things we have that we have because we genuinely love it. And even more so, how we like being creative with our collections. I really enjoy getting to know people through their existing stashes. The sharing of ideas and creativity is what it's all about for me!

Pen twins! I'm afraid I'm an Oppenheimer girl as my son is at Uni studying Physics. I was never very good at the whole Barbie thing because I could not think of anything for them to do! Now I know that is a common aphantasia thang. I was more a tomboy motormouth who was always running around doing things. Things have not changed too much!

(42:48): I'm with you on that! I'll be 46 next week. My mental "comfort foods" are still Hanna-Barbera cartoons, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and Archie Comics. I grew up in a very turbulent home and these things have always been such a source of happiness for me. I'm a happy "old lady" now in my safe, happy place now. I embroider, I "art" and I self-care my self out of the uglies like a big girl now and I wouldn't trade it for the world 😊I'm SO happy seeing all of these more mature women rocking green hair and carrying their leopard print Coach bags in their Pantera shirts. Finally...VALIDITY. I'm an Oppenheimer girl. Though I like Barbie, I'm a nerd through and through and I'm DYING to see this already. Fun fact: I'm an educational children's illustrator that is powered by literally everything I mentioned above. I am quite proud that I've been lucky enough to use all of the things that have made me a weirdo to power my healthy adulthood. I dig these chatty vids.
