    I loved listening to your chatty video! So: I love "curating a palette of 6-10 colors" in a rainbowy fashion. Often jewel toned - I totally enjoy trying to use them up all the way and then maybe adding more if I empty one pen before I finish the others. And then nerding out about which colors fit together in which pens they go. I change pens each journal entry and so I want a mix of darker and lighter colors. Currently I really love M nibs, they seem to work best with my handwriting and I was tempted to completely switch to all Ms but I just recently reconsidered that idea. I do think each nib size has a purpose and just because I don't use it too often doesn't mean I should completely extinguish it from my collection. Thanks so much for editing and sharing!

      I LOVE rainbowy pen/ink collections!!! It’s one of those patterns that I appreciate but don’t practice haha. With each journal entry being different, do you rotate those colors or switch inks often?

      @@justusspace I guess, I didn't word it correctly. I switch around in that small assortment of pens that I put together. And once I'm down to 3-5 pens, I'll switch it all around. Decide whether I want to keep using the 3-5 and add more to fill it back to 6-10 or whether I'll start with a clean slate.

    Med nib because I write big. Loved this, certainly helps before I start buying. 👍🏽

      Ah yes medium nibs are great!! If you havent tried a broad yet, they might be an extra juicy pen treat for you :) I bought a couple Lamy Safari nibs in varying sizes way back when to see how I liked them, and it could be an inexpensive way for you to try it out if you havent got a ton of play time just yet!

    What a lovely collection! Stupid question maybe but do you clean your syringe with water between 2 inks? (Which I would do but would be so tedious 😭)

      Yes!! In full disclosure I recorded this about 2 weeks ago. I have come to accept that I will probably have some semi-dry pens by the time I work my way through them, so my next video may be a “cleaning all my pens” vid 😂

      @@justusspace I inked up all of my pens a few weeks ago and had this grand plan to use a different one every day to journal, but then I got Covid and since then have been too worn out to do any long form journalling since then 😭 So I can very much relate!

    Seeing all those nearly finished bottles would motivate me to fill up all my pens too, all 50 of them (not trying to brag, just giving scale to the endeavor that would be).
    Love the traveler's brass pen, looks well loved; bar none my favorite pocket pen, my first & should've been my last (pocket pen, to say my last fountain pen would be an blatant lie, lol).
    Lastly, lovely handwriting & great job editing the video, God bless!

      I feel like if you were to go through the full afternoon of filling all 50 pens, you’d have to fill like 3 bound notebooks in a month before they dried out! 😂
      The traveler’s brass is such a good little throw around. It has survived many an accident wash from being stuck in my shirt pocket 😅

    Your pens are such cute colours! All of my pens are actually silver, white, grey I like anything in that colour family with silver accents except for my olive green kaweco (its my favourite colour so I broke my aesthetic for it lol). Love seeing fun collections like yours though!

    Love the video and your pens! My collection is definitely more generic, cheaper pens but I go crazy on inks, especially Diamine :D I started with EF and F nibs but moved to M because I love to see the ink colour in a broader nib. One silly question: did you clean the syringe between inking? It looks like you are using the same one without flushing so I am curious how that works without contaminating the ink.

    I noticed that you didn’t put that little silver cartridge cover over the refilled cartridges in your Vanishing Point and Decimo when you refilled the cartridge - have you had an issue with the cartridge getting punctured when you click the top?

    • @justusspace
      @justusspace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I havent! To be honest, I never had a clue what the little metal capping piece was meant for. Ive been filling them this way for years and it’s been a nonissue so far.
      Youve taught me something new today lol!

    This was so much fun to watch! 🥰 Especially because we seem to be complete opposites 😂 My favourite inks are Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun and Diamine Prussian Blue, because they're soft and kind on my eyes. I also like brown inks *because* they make my pages feel old. A little tip: If you use soft and fluffy toilet paper or kitchen roll instead of a microfibre cloth when you're wiping excess ink off of the grips, it'll be quicker and cleaner. The soft fluffy toilet paper *absorbs* the ink like nothing else, whereas microfibre cloths seem to smear it around more. I always use TP and I just don't get inky fingers. Might be worth a try if you ever get frustrated by the mess 😂 (It have never scratched my pens.)

    • @justusspace
      @justusspace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re my opposite buddy and I love it for us.
      For the TP do you ever find that little fibers get caught in the nib? I used paper towels before I swapped to glasses cloths, but kept getting fibers caught between the tines :,(

    • @inlesinlet
      @inlesinlet 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justusspace 😂🥰 No, I don't get paper fibres caught in the nib, because I fold/hold the paper so that only the grip section, and not the nib, is being wiped. Well, no, that's a lie, I do wipe the nib, too, but I do it in a very particular way so I don't really have issues. It's a bigger problem actually when I write, because I keep having minuscule dust fibres on the page that gets caught in the nib and makes my writing all weird and then I have to pull it out mid-session 😂
