True story, I never go anywhere without my trusty #3 rigger! Okay, that's a lie but it sounds very comforting though. But sometimes I wake up from a nightmare where I was lost and my trusty #3 rigger was NOWHERE to be found. People around me in the dream kept saying, cmon man, just use a #4 round brush and I kept screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOO! It was horrible! Well, that was all a lie, too but Mr. Clark.... I have watched your videos for a couple of years now. Two I think... and I have never commented but I want to say that I've enjoyed your vids and paintings and lessons and humor. Thx for uploading these for people to learn from. The advise you give in the voice overs during the paintings is invaluable. It is good to hear wise advise more than once so I'm glad you repeat yourself on many of the key points because for me it helps to remember them. Tips like not overworking your painting and not making your edges precise like a ruler etc. great vids and pantings!
What a great video on negative painting techniques. So many other tips included like scoring the paper to make the grasses and using a damp paper towel to blend the bottoms of the mushrooms into the grass. I've been using your tip of using pastel pencils for adding some extra details and sparkle to a painting. Thanks Paul for the great video!
Verry nice i love the simplicité of It i will try that to and i Will try not to spell masking fluid on My clothes i did à big mess yesterday🤪 and always like the white space you live in your painting i have to work on that the white on the mushroom is fabulous thank you verry much and by the way thank you for your comments on the photos i sent i will give à go Always à pleasure waiking up on wednesday and saturday To see what you paint have a Nice week To you and Margot🥰❤🥰
"A small piece of toast" you said??? 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 How nice!!! I'm going to try those beautiful leaves. Yellow is my favorite color cause yellow is like the sun....it's the light on earth...light...sunshine!!!!☀️❤❤❤🌤❤❤❤ I'll try the mushrooms, too!!! I'll add a little bit of salt before cooking. Love the mixing of colors you made for the soil where the mushrooms grow. Love it!!!! Thank you.
You are so much fun to watch. Not only are you so talented, but what a great sense of humor. Just what we all need these days. Stay healthy and do many, many more videos.
I really loved this demo, thank you! You made it look super fun, relaxing and easy. Negative painting is a really important skill in watercolor painting. I immediately sharpened the end of my brush. 😊 LOL !! Thank you!
Oh Paul!! I’m your new biggest fan from Canada! I was a beginner in 2005 and dropped my brush. Now I’ve picked it up again and going to consume ALL this lovely content 🎉😊
I’m new to watercolors and even newer to your tutorials. Please, keep the intro! It’s a lovely reminder that we are painting across the world. Thanks for the tutelage and confidence.
Woah. I haven't seen negative painting like this; usually, the demo is drawing leaves and painting a wash around the first layer, rinse and repeat until your paper is destroyed. The bang for the buck is quite "negative". But these were nice (especially the mushrooms!) Also, you should have a director's view showing your face and biceps while you paint. You know, so we can see you as you work. For inspiration and whatnot.
Your voice is very amusing to hear, that is one of the main reasons that I love your videos the most.On Every Wednesday watercolor I get to learn many things.
@@ArtbyPaulClark It appears to be one that may have been mixed to create, you know, another color! I have an old friend who's decorator did that on her new house-which they had to do a few times because of the different lighting in the new build. But it's lovely. Brand name maybe? Oh well, it's quit nice. Thank you. Have I bothered you enough for one day? Just got into a rhythm. Thanks for all. Terri
Hi from Alberta, Canada, Paul! I'm a prairie girl and love the grasslands and woods in the fall, and just loved this fun video. Thankyou for sharing your talent and knowledge with us. I always look forward to your videos & have learned so much about handling watercolors. It can be one of the most frustrating mediums to use but your videos are so much fun they taught me to loosen up and just let the paint do its thing. Thanks so much.
Wednesday is a Bonus day for watercolor painters, thanks to you, Paul. The two demonstrations were excellent; seeing all the possibilities that your demonstrations provided! Another great feature of your tutorials is you explain why you are adding that feature. Thanks again for your inspiring tutorials.🎨
Thanks again for another Wednesday to look forward to! Cows, a duck or a ostrich were things I never ever thought I would paint. Thanks to your fantastic tutorials they have turned into some of my favourite paintings! Ferns and mushrooms, here I come!!
Thank you for all your video's. I love them all! I never really used this before as I always start with my lightest colours. Guess I better get practising negative painting (while staying positive).
Great lessons. I was really drawn to the fern. I send out cards to a few family members every month or so and the fern will make an awesome card. I might even try the same technique with Maple leaves since they are so common here in Nebraska, US. Thank you so much for the video and inspiring me to try new things.
Me too, I make cards for all occasions and this negative fern painting would be wonderful to create. I have been painting for over 10 years, but Paul still gives me new and inspiring ideas, he is a great teacher.
Loved watching these techniques and I’m looking forward to trying all of them. I especially liked when you negatively painted down into the ground below the mushrooms to make grass. That was brilliant. I look forward to trying both of these paintings. Thank you so much for everything you do.
Wonderful video, as usual, Paul! Both the ferns and the mushrooms are a must-try. I really loved the colours in both. Good grief, what an inspiration you are, and every week to boot!! No happy accidents, just happy Wednesdays ❤️
Thank you Paul. I love your paintings. Very grateful for your generosity in sharing everything with us. One of the few 'real' artists who do. Thank you, again. ♥
Art is a subject that you can never stop learning. There are so much to learn from it. And the more I live the more I learn. This subject of negative painting is new to me. And I guess art teaches you a lot about nature too because you have to observe greenery like plants and flowers. This is a very interesting video. Thank you so much for it. And I love the song in the background. Beautiful song.
I'm enjoying your wonderful videos! So informative, and I am enjoying your way of presenting each subject. You exude kindness and empathy which is so appealing. I live in a small state in the USA, but feel I would be more at home in the UK.
