I must say that I’ve watched many negative painters and you are easy to follow!! Excellent teaching on negative painting! 👏👏👏👏 Do you do any watercolor pencil sanding in your paintings? I watched just about every video by Karlyn Holman. I hope you don’t mind me dropping her name in here. The reason I did was to see if you can teach a couple of her videos that consist on negative painting. I was devastated about a month ago when I found out that she passed away. I actually cried! My son said ,” mom you don’t even know her! “ well I happen to be a very sensitive and spiritual person who puts my feelings into my art. I had a business for a short while called “ full of grace designs” .I named it that because God is my creator and He is whom I rely on for all my gifts ! I pray before I begin anything. That includes baking! 😁😁 ! Anyways, I was hoping you could do a video consisting of negative , sanding over stencils, and decoupage in the watercolor painting. Please dont take this as a challenge take this as a compliment,meaning Karlyn was an amazing watercolor painter that included a lot of different mixed media ,but I found it difficult to follow her. I thought maybe you could respectfully teach one or more of her styles of paintings. I truly enjoy watching you and learning from you! BTW Karlyn Holman passed away in 2019 at the age of 79. She started teaching I believe in her 30’s . I pray I’m not out of line in my requests. God bless you and I hope you continue to bring us more of your beautiful paintings which are taught so well!!

I did this painting a few years ago as my first watercolour painting. It was done with just one colour to make it simpler and see the values growing in depth. I'll have to give it another try with lots of colour now that I see your beautiful painting. Thanks.
Great tutorial - clear, concise and easy to follow - the kind of tutorial that makes me think that I can do it too! Love the tip re drawing with a watercolor pencil then simply lifting it off with a wet brush 👍🏼

Thanks again. This is the second viewing. Was having trouble with the layers after the first wash. Trying to get one color smooth looking for each layer I don’t get yet. Many watch a third time for negative space. 👍🏼😷
Are you trying to get each layer (of the background) to be one solid color? I want to understand your frustration but not exactly sure where you are having problems. Each layer of color will be the color of the next layer of trees so no need to get a smooth layer of color. Does that help you? You can do it!
@@lorrainerimmelinwatercolor I understand that each layer is a darker hue. Im trying to not get blossoms and a messy wash with either too much pigment or too much water in the 2-4 layers of the neg spaces. I think I’ll keep practicing 👩🏻🎨😁. Thank you for responding. I appreciate it. Best, Judy
