Got the dt 770 in 32 ohm lightly used after my Logitech g pro x headset cracked in several places after a drop. The soundstage is massive, feels full and wide. In games like baldurs gate 3 it really elevates the environmental and dialogues, battlesounds etc. Music sound fantastic. Miss my mic a bit but what you get is easily a league above typical gamer headsets. I love mine, can even handle music on a phone, but needs max volume where my iem (kz ling long, quite good budget) are loud at 70%.
yea losing the mic can certainly be a bummer but what you get in audio fidelity is imo worth it
Thanks so much for this video! Was searching through so many videos and forums where everyone was wishy-washy-- and this hits the spot! Thanks for the info! Bought mine today for Cyber Monday and looking forward to how they sound!
I firmly believe these are really good for the price! However remember that 80 ohm and higher needs an amp to actually be good. They will be quiet and not great sounding without one.
These are critical listening headphones meant for mixing audio. They are meant to let nasty frequencies that you wouldn't want to hear, show in the mix. So, they are very close to being flat across the eq band. If you have the ability to slap on eq for gaming they will shine.
I've tried other headphones and just keep coming back to these. I tried senhieser hd560s really liked them but not so much the lack of low end and open backs aren't great for my environment. Gaming headsets also have to much muddiness do to pumped up mid and low range. I really like the flat nature of the dt770 pro stock so don't really eq them.
@@IAmVehement That's awesome, I recently bought the steel series 7+ for my son and I because I heard they were awesome. Haha. I'm back to using my dt770s.
I really think that the arctia nova 7 are one of the best gaming headsets out there and what I recommend for wireless headsets but I always say if you don't need a mic and don't mind a wire get a studio headphone. Better imaging. Better clarity and detail.
Hey, is the DT 770 Pro 32 OHM good for pc gaming? I currently have a Kraken TE and don't really like it. Mainly play FPS games
I think they would be amazing compared to the kraken te. I love my dt770 80ohm I still daily drive them no matter how many headphones I've used I always go back to the
@@IAmVehement thanks, I’ve got the option between the 32 ohm and 80 ohm, I’m guessing the 80 is better for gaming?
@@doobasaurus 32 Ohm or 80 Ohm, there is no significant audio difference. 80 Ohms will require you to purchase a separate DAC/AMP to power them enough so you have enough volume. 32 Ohms is pretty much plug and play. It depends on your setup.
Great video thanks. When we compare cloud alpha wireless and dt 770 pro, which one do you think is more logical to buy? In terms of price, both headphones have the same price. I will mostly use it for watching games and movies with stories. Thank you
I think the beyerdynamics dt770 is a far better headphones ESPECIALLY for what your trying to do. However if you don't have a dac/amp you should then get the 32ohm model. The 80 and 250 ohm really need more power to use properly.
Hey man hope your doing well love your vids! I want your honest opinion. Dt770 Pro or Steelseries Artis Nova 7 ? I'm on pc I don't mind wireless/wired. Let me know , thanks you!!
So I have an interesting opinion. I had both the arctis nova pro wireless and the nova 7 wireless and I switched to the nova pro wireless full time and went back to the Dr 770 pro because the nova pro wireless didn't sound even half as good. I still use the nova 7 for my laptop. If you really want wireless I think the nova 7 are a great option but I just can't recommend them over the dt770 pro or really any gaming headset over the dt770 and I've tried a ton.
hey man I recently bought the 80ohms version, I haven't bought an AMP yes but am happy with the sound quality and comfort. The only thing I cannot get straight is figuring out what direction sounds are coming from/ positional audio. Is it just because I don't have an amp or am I missing something?
Yea your severely lacking in detail because you aren't properly driving the headphones with an amp.
how do they compare with headphones like hyperx cloud alpha? would you consider them a direct upgrade to hyperx? im not looking for studio work i want good music, bass and gaming experience
They are in another league from cloud alpha or any of your usual gaming headsets
@@IAmVehement and what would you say about the pro x version which i intend to get?
I've not used the pro x model but it's still going to be WAY better then any gaming headset and should even be better then the 770 pro.
How's the sound isolation does it block out/dampen fans, cars passing by, person talking next to you and if so how much by approximately? Can you hear someone talk or does it sound like they're 2 rooms away?
Sound isolation is pretty good but not perfect they are not 100% but I don't hear the TV in the other room while wearing them. I don't normally have other people talking same room as me but I would think it would be good enough. And no I wouldn't hear cars outside and I'm on a busy road.
Can i use this headphones without audio interface? i have motherboard B550 GAMING X V2.
Sorry I'm so late to reply but no you need a DAC unless you hit up the 32 ohm model
Hey man im on new gen xbox and im wondering if the 32 ohm will work for the xbox controller, and if it does is the 32 ohm still good directional sound?
Yes and yes. The sound is very similar to the 80 ohm model by only a little difference. The directional awareness is some of the best in the game in my opinion.
How much worth you think it was a upgrade from Cloud II ? I just bought one HyperX Cloud 2 wireless this week =(
The beyerdynamics are the best sounding headphone I've used so far however the hyper x cloud II are also a great set of cans I wouldn't feel like you made a mistake but if your looking for a good gateway into audiophile type world these are great
Hey man, I just discoverd your channel and was looking for a new pair of headphones. I want to buy the Beyerdynamic Dt 770 Pro 80 Ohm version and use it for PC gaming and listing music / watching movies on my pc. Do I need to buy a amplifier? Or can I just use it dt 700 pro and enjoy it? Also if you would recommend a gaming amplifier, what would you recommend? thank you in advance!
For the 80 ohm model I do recommend a dac because these would not sound to great or even get loud enough to be usable on most devices most devices can't run much higher then 32-40ohms and for a dac it depends if you just want something to power the headphones or want something with a good bit of software attached
Epos gx amp is a great gaming focused DAC the 99usd creative sound blaster DAC is pretty good and if you want really good PC controls and software but only plan to use 80 - 150 ohm headphones for the future I really like the elgato wave xlr which some audiophile people might not agree with that recommendation but that's what I personally use and it's great
hey, i am thinking of buying 770 Pro 250ohm, do you thing I need to buy dac if i m using fosi T20? , Thank you
You are going to need an amp/DAC because that device only does up to 64 ohms in output
Great video and very informativ!
My Steelseries arctis pro broke (literaly a hinge broke of just while wearing it normally) so now i'm searching for a replacement and i'm done with low quality gaming Headsets. The gameDAC of the steelseries ones is still working and im now thinking of buying the 770 pro 80 ohm to use with it. Do think this is a decent setup? :)
As long as your dac can support 80ohms I will always highly recommend these for everything they sound great with games and amazing with music
Hi tnx for your content i have a question is this headphones good for imaging and pinpoint foot sound in rainbow six siege? Cause i tried audio technicha ad500x(openback) and asus rog delta but their imaging capability was not good
Out of everything I've ever tried these have the best position awareness and directional awareness
@@IAmVehement Tnx for your reply i have sound blaster z se and can push up to 600 ohm. So which one do u suggest to me 250 80 or 32 ohm?i mean for best directional awareness
I think if you got the power go for the 250 ohm
@@IAmVehement Thank you very much and i wonder if you try this headphone in r6 siege or not? Im searching for headphone which has excellent imaging in r6 siege
I've sadly never played r6 siege
thank you for the video continue my friend
Do you think I'll be fine gaming with the dt 770 pro 80 ohm for gaming without an amp, and if I should use an amp any recommendations to buy.
80 ohm would be a bit too much to run without an amp. There's a 32ohm version that would run just fine without an amp tho
what amp would you recommend, I just asked the same question above haha! @@IAmVehement
Hey man i dont know what headset to get what would u recommend also i dont have amp or nothing il be pluging them into my speakers.
you could always go with the dt770 pro 32ohm model that will play out of just about anything or if your in the market for a gaming headset logitech g pro x headset is a great option as well or for less the samson sr850 which are easy to drive open backs for cheap or the hyper x cloud II headset for a good middle of the road
@@IAmVehement il be using em to stream and listen to music so would the 770 be the best
I have yet to hear anything better sounding then the dt770 pro the 32 ohm model should sound pretty close to the 80 ohm so yes I'd say there best as long as you don't need a mic on the headphones
@@IAmVehement awesome thanks man
you try the Audio Technica M50X BT2? if that is the case which one do you prefer?
Sadly I haven't tried the m50x but I know they trade blows with one another
@@IAmVehement if you had your opportunity to put your hands on the Audio Technica M50X BT2 a comparation video would be greatly appreciate
It's on the list of headphones for sure cause I want to try the senheiser hd6xx the atm50x and compare them to the beyerdynamic dt770 pro and want to try the dt700 x but it's all gonna take time cause I pay out of pocket for all these videos
@@IAmVehement good choices in the list, but also there are good unknow brands you could try
Epos and Samson are ones I wanna review as well along with gaming stuff like raycon dropped a gaming headset I'd like to try as well
Hey man, how do you compare this to HS80 usB? i mean by sound quality.
If I'm gonna be completely honest it's actually very different from one another the dt770 are much more natural with a less aggressive v shape (when there's more high end and more bass end with less mids) the hs80 have an amazingly wide soundstage with great clarity but there very bass heavy not in a bad way but it's less natural but there both great if your looking for a headset rather then a headphone you won't go wrong with the hs80
are these headphones good for positional audio? like if I'm playing csgo/valorant/siege, will the footsteps be clear on the left or right side?
Yes these are my personal competitive headphones due to there great directional awareness, soundstage, and clear cut footsteps
Are these good for anime I use a extension boasters and my ears been hurting from it so I was gonna get a good headset so I wouldn’t need a boaster
Not sure what you mean when you say extension boaster
@@IAmVehement basically a third party app to boast audio
@@IAmVehement all I was trying to say are these good for high quality anime experience
Hey man thanks for the Video!:) What Amp or Dac would U recommend ?
I used to use the focusrite but now I use goxlr mini cause I stream but maybe the elgato XLR or maybe something from behringer I'm not super well familiar in the world of dacs off top of my head id have to dig thru the internet
@@IAmVehement thank you very much Bro:) Thinking of buying a 700 Pro X with a fox mic from beyerdynamic ^^ do you got any other recommendations?
I really wanna try the 700 pro x might next month or so but no I think with that combo you'd do good with elgato wave XLR especially with the incredible wave software and features
Maybe the audient evo 4 would be a good option as well I've heard the amp is better then the wave XLR when using iems but wave XLR is great with over ear headphones (keep in mind I'm going by other people's word not my own)
Thinking of buying these should i also buy a AMP DAC for pc if i buy 80ohm i mostly play fps games
If your going with the 80ohm your going to need a dac to properly use these. It'll be very quiet and less detailed without one.
@@IAmVehement okey thanks im thinking of buying these or a dt 900 pro - dt 990 or maybe sennheiser 560s
I would probably avoid the dt990 they have really sharp highs and a lot of people that try them seem to not like them unless they don't really have a sensitivity to it. The dt900 idk much about however I've not heard much negativity around them. I want to get the dt700 x pro for my setup.
@@IAmVehement are the dt700 better then the dt770?
From my understanding yes they are but I've not had the chance to try them
Do you think this is worth an upgrade from a dt 99o pro 250ohm?
Only if your looking for a good closed back design not sure if it's better sounding haven't had the pleasure of testing the dt990 pro
The pros from the dt770 over the dt990 would "just" be the way better noise isolation from things like PC fans etc. the flip side would be that In theory you should also get a bit of a bigger soundstage with your dt990s.
Do you use a DAC and /or AMP for your setup?
@@30Janni I've heard the dt990 are a bit sibilant with less bass which is a side effect of some open backs as well so maybe the 770 might be more to taste
Hello, Can i use 250ohm + x1S microphone with Scarlett solo 4th gen?
I'm pretty sure you can.
@@IAmVehement Thank you. Peoples hardly saying if you using microphone, Scarlett Solo (IF you using with USB) Maximum Supported is 200.
So my X1S is 125 Ohms + 770 is 250 Ohm = Low sound than potential and bad sound quality. Am i wrong?
I'm pretty sure the Scarlett 4th Gen is 300ohm max
The dt770 is not flat. It has a more neutral sound signature but has a lift in the bass region and a slight bit in the treble giving it what they call a v shape. Music is incredible with them and so is movies and ESPECIALLY gaming. Your friend is misinformed.
@@IAmVehement Thank you. Since 1 week my head confused and i simply bought 250ohm 770Pro from amazon.
i want to know i buy it Blaster G6 they say can handle 600(OHM) and for what i go 80 (ohm) version or 250(ohm) and this DT 770 PRO or DT 990 PRO they same price diffirent is closed and open ...i play most of FPS games need more hear it STEPS
So the thing is you will get better directional and distance awareness with the open back but hear footsteps better (depending on headphone) on closed back so to a deeper mid range. But that's not always true. I still think closed back is better for competitive.
@@IAmVehementand how much ohm is good 80 or 250
@@IAmVehement i think right you,but 80 or 250 ohm i have dac for handle who will be better option
You've sold me, thank you
👍
