    Serpentine drain heater is also a good spot to check for corrosion ..leaks.. or oil in drain pan..great unit!

    Great video! If doors are not aligned or are tilted, what’s the best way to know if it’s just the hinges that need adjusting or if there is structural damage? (Or would you just walk away from it entirely?)

      If the hinges are bent you will visually see them bent, missing nylon hardwares etc.

    Hi! I have a 2004 661/F unit. Is there a condenser that needs to be cleaned? I can’t find any information online. Thanks!

    Hi, would a missing alarm / bell button on the right of the control panel of a 650 model indicate an older model? Thanks

      Yes it certainly would, you can still check your thermistor temperatures by toggling around diagnostic mode, but error codes will not be present.

    @subzerorepair When you say the models are better after 2001.. Does it include models from 2001 itself?

      After serial 1810000 is best indicator. They upgraded the control to be more intelligent.

    You mentioned in description that stay away from 20+ Year old units, but this one is already 16 years old, does it mean the left lifespan is short (around 4 years)? I have a 20 years old subzero, I want to know if I need to replace it or repair it once it failed to work.

      Repair it until it is no longer repairable. A 20 year old sub zero is not an old unit in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with 20 year and older unit, they are very reliable. If you are buying used however, it’s best to go for as new as possible. That’s not because they are better. Newer units will have parts available for longer, in some cases come with a warranty, and have less wear and tear.

    Is there a water filter on this model? If so, where is it?

    • @subzerorepair
      @subzerorepair  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, water filters didn’t appear until 2008 on the classic model or bi series. This is a 600 series unit in the video pre 2008

    What should you pay for something like this?

    • @subzerorepair

      A lot goes into that, the manufacturer warranty really ends around the five year mark as far as “freebies” go (where you can get your sealed system fixed for free if it fails.)
      So an older 10 plus year machine like this which needs to be deinstalled, reinstalled (probably by a professional with insurance), checked out by a professional if it isn’t working…etc..
      2-3k? Figure another 1k for installation and minor fixes, maybe some carpentry panels. Big plus if you can find a stainless model.
      Is it worth more than that? 2-3k ? Hell yah, when a new unit is 15k plus installation and does the same thing and looks about the same!
