To begin all your modeling videos you should tell your audience 1. What year card you are playing. 2. Where you are looking on the card for each decision you are making. ex. 2024 Card, Consecutive Run category, 6 down. If that model had been used, you could have ended with 9 tiles towards Mahjongg. I was lost at the first decision because I didn't have the information I needed to make sense of any of it.
The intro to every video has the year for the card being used in the video. I play and teach that your gather for the category until you run out of discards to stay flexible. When there nearly all tiles that can be used in the chosen category, then I look at the hand level and mention them. I also add captions when I am considering hands.
I teach an adaptive style of play which means you don't pick a hand until you run out of discards. Instead, you choose a category and gather tiles for that category. When you run out of discards, that's when you look deeper at the hand level. mahjlife.com/wiki/how-to-pick-a-hand-article-183/
The second hand was confusing to me 2468. The hand you chose was a closed hand. I recall you saying that you sould have at least one pair in place in such a situation. I would probably have decided on an easier hand (I am a newer player) and chose flower pair, kong, kong and four dragons.
I considered that at th-cam.com/video/abPMSFcb_jo/w-d-xo.html but we got a 46 in dots so there are three more tiles for Evens #6 vs Consecutive Run #3 th-cam.com/video/abPMSFcb_jo/w-d-xo.html. Consecutive Run #3 could have worked too :)
Pull #3, I would have stuck with the evens 3b (even with the gaps) because it is such a "callable" hand which I prefer to a concealed hand.

When you got the 9 bam in the last pass, I would have kept that with the 6 bam for a possible 369 hand, just as a backup.
