Its not really the rtv, its the right hand turn oil pressure dip with that said, 1/2 pt. over fill seems to be the best fix atm

i’m considering purchasing this car but i been watching many videos and a lot of ppl have been mentioning that. the rtv the oil pressure dip etc. however if i purchase this gr86 with the intention of just using it as a daily driver like going to work would i have this issue you think? like i have zero interest in taking it out to a track nor do i intend to purposely be trying to be driving fast yknow.

I do the 1/2 pt overfill cause it won't hurt nothing only helps and as a daily with some spirited driving you can't push the car hard enough to even come close to hurting it in any way @@trxpant

@@trxpant I own one and as long as you don’t track it, then it won’t be a problem

@@trxpant The issues people are having are mainly from pulling a lot of Gs on right turns at tracks. I doubt most people with cars just ask simple questions like "what modifications do you recommend if I decide to take my car to the track and I don't care about warranty I just don't want to blow up my car". Almost always they will say oil cooler and higher weight oil due to heat. Maybe something like 40 weight when on the track for the GR86/BRZ. From what I have seen the easiest solution is literally just getting an oil cooler kit and adding an extra .5-1 quart over fill. That is all you need with the GR86. You can waist money buying a better oil pan/baffles and possibly an accumulator will help, but people are literally just overfilling a bit and it is fixing the issue. So I would honestly just recommend an oil cooler to keep temps down and a light overfill. You should be fine after that.

Alex, you're a really entertaining youtube personal.
But for God sake, stay in the drifting scene. Your recommendations on track / autox are just purely comical.
No don't get more power, no don't just drop a set of Chinese coilovers in, no don't put aero kit on the car.
Get brake pads, brake fluid, and oil cooler into the car. Then, a few events later, you, yes, I mean you (alex), get some camber plates and rear upper control arms. This is all you need if you aren't looking to compete.
Tires and rims can come later.
Point is to maximize the stock setup. Spend as much money on seat time as possible.

The Room Temperature Vulcanizing silicone sealant is used in several places across the whole FA24 engine. The "fix" is to remove the oil pan and clean out any RTV stuck in the oil pickup tube once the engine has been broken in. Dassit. No extra parts needed.
