In the US there are lots of engine failures on track due to oil pressure loss. Even baffled pans don't seem to help. Hope that won't happen to this car. Good videos about it on the channel brz900.
is it really fair to say lots? you'd have to know how many are being tracked, how many confirmed blown from low oil pressure, mods, maintenance etc. yes 900brz has done some great work and I hope there's a solution soon for 0% failure rate but the car is just an affordable subaru, already maxed out from the factory with it's stock suspension/brakes/wheels/tires setup. what other $30K RWD 228hp 2800lbs NA new production vehicle can withstand driving 9/10 on track repeatedly? miata maybe?

I feel that every lap you do is great, I learn a lot about driving and how to take corners by watching your videos. I also really appreciate that you use the different cameras to show what you are doing at each point of the turn and before the turns. That you know this track so well is a blessing and every time I see a video I begin to memorize and and more! thank you again!
7/10 needs more scrape. Seriously though :), 8min with passenger and without trying, that's not too shabby. Camber isn't maxed out yet, is it? Surprised how well this takes the curbs. And I'm curious how much power the remap gets you.
I think we are on the max, and yes suspension is amazing. I'm actually surprised and disappointed that I can't get the wheels in the air when going over curbs haha

It has a big mouth for cooling and built in canards/ lip that will never fall off Their whole kit for the car is actually great, vented fenders, vented hood, vented rear bumper ( for rear tyre heat) along with a large wing, similar style to what you have put on now. The whole kit is 3500-4500usd which is quite alot but no one else on youtube has it so it could help bring more views to channel for this car and the eventual giveaway
Holy F! The turn in and grip in general are so different from stock. Also the body control with the Bilstein setup is amazing. Just like a racecar. Soaking up the bumps with little to no lean in the corners. Just amazing to watch the difference 😱😍

APEX actually did one a few years ago! Nearly this same recipe and it worked great then. I think it was done in maybe 2018? There are plenty of videos on it here.

If the car is slanted towards the front, that creates downforce, I believe its called "Rake" F1 cars do it. Im sure you know that, but thought id suggest it. Maybe raise the rear slightly, or just fit some fancy splitter. 👍

Def needs a remap to get rid of the bit of rev hang and maybe 5mm more ride height. Not sure about the lsd though, there’s not enough torque with the sticky rubber to make a difference.
I think you can do something different than a splitter. Try a set of canards and hood vent. That will reduce the air trapped in the hood as you know and not create additional drag. We love but not as much as you, so let's keep her safe mr speedy. She needs a helmet that fits properly.

I can't explain how many people I've had in mine (BRZ) who have been amazed at how fast it is (I guess they assume it's got Corolla power or something based on how much people belittle the power online 😂)
Thanks for the input, I only ever drove the automatic BRZ, which I think has less aggressive gearing, and it wasn't bad at all! This said I can't stop wondering what categories of cars a supercharger would put the GR86 against on an average track. With maybe 300whp at a weight of 2900lbs and that lovely stiff chassis on some sticky tires. Maybe Mustang GT PP? Cayman? What do you think? @@MKu64
@@Mehdi-tq9ps It's hard to say and the reason for me is that the gearing in this car is near perfect for the current level of power IMO. For example, if you had more power, it could use a taller first gear as it hits the top of first pretty quick as it is. So adding more power might still leave it restricted in some gears - HOWEVER - I say this having never maxed out 5th (or 6th) gear yet on a track, so hard to say. I'd think it's probably going to smash them around corners even without the blower, so it would really depend on the type of track.

They're going for a shorter final drive. There will be more wheel torque then!
