awesome video, as always. i chose the Aful SnowyNight, waiting for it to deliver. actually canceled my Moondrop Moonriver 2Ti order for it, because i love the Aful QC
@@TheHonestAudiophile Thanks. I've been looking for an excuse to buy it. It came out like 2 months after I bought the Tanchjiam but I just want to buy everything from Aful.
@@TheHonestAudiophile Thanks again, got it today and it does sound different in the way you described, in a way I definitely prefer to the Tanchjim Space. Nearly everyone else (maybe everyone) told me there wasn't an audible difference since the chips were nearly identical other than the built-in amp. Very glad to have caved and bought it.
Good question, open back dynamic Audio Technica R70x, closed back dynamic Austrian Audio Hi-X60, open back planar Moondrop Para, closed back planar unknown. Notable mentions; Fiio FT5, Sennheiser HD600, OLLO S5X, Aune AR5000, Rode NTH-100
5:01 I've got 7Hz Legato + Dew4x. The legato is connected to TRN 4.4mm Balanced cable qt the moment & with the dew4x on high gain mode it sounds loud & punchy while on low gain ive to increase the volume to get the same thump (by its nature). Now my question is - should I use low gain or high gain? Any chance of risking my iem or hearing via user induced damage on high gain mode? Can the Legato handle the High gain mode for years!? 😅
I haven't heard the Snowy Night but I have the Dawn Pro. Given the choice between the Dawn Pro and my Apple dongle I'll go with the Apple every time, regardless what music I'm playing. The Dawn Pro looks cute but it's a placebo dongle, and for the price you shouldn't expect much more.
@@TheHonestAudiophile thank you, I finally have my future set up. Also thanks for always answering questions, out of reviewers out there you're the only reliable person
the simgot better sound better, b/c it has the lowest power, and only handles 384. edit, nevermind, it if comes across to you as bright on some tracks, it's a no go, since most IEMs other than the Mega5EST and the MESTs are essentially pinna bright, and by bright I mean too much energy 2k - 4k
Cuidado com os produtos da Fosi. Já vi que eles não entregam a potência anunciada. Já vi medições que não dizem o que a Fosi indica em alguns produtos.
Dave, I'm still amazed at how accurately you can describe the sound of dongles.
Thank you. Glad you enjoy the channel content.
Excellent review! I will be picking up the Fosi Audio DS2.
Your description of the Dew4x was spot on! Great Review

I look forward to hearing your impressions.
Sure miss seeing you on camera. Nice review, Dave. So, I guess I'll keep my Periodic Rhodium and HiBy FC4.🙂
Periodic Audio Rhodium is great!
Thanks Dave! Great Review 👍👍👍
Great video Dave! I really like the dew4x so small and good
Awesome! Glad you enjoy the DEW4X such an unique dongle.
good subject!
I am quite impressed with the Snowy Night, it can drive the Hd600. Pairs pretty well with Explorer.
Yeah the Snowy Night is quite impressive. I like it a lot.
Any benefit to upgrading to the Snowynight from the Tanchjiam Space? Side note, you're the first person I've heard pronounce Aful correctly.
Different presentation, the Snowy Night is more full sounding, slightly better detailed and resolving. The Space has a wider stage .

@@christoph9510 I feel the same, they have such great QC and I love my Performer 8!

Hi, just found you channel. Thank you!
What would you recommend between snowynight VS Hidizs S9 pro (regardless of power)?
AFUL Snowy Night
Hello.
Good video.
One question, what are your favorite headphones under $500?

have you tried the new SMSL D10 and BLON V1
Thanks for the suggestions.

I recommend not using hi gain unless it's necessary. If low gain sounds good even if you have to raise volume more, I'd do that.
@@TheHonestAudiophile Yes with slightly increased volume it’s all good. Cool, thanks a lot! 😇🤝🏼

which is better Fosi audio DS2 or Hidizs S9 pro plus?
Fosi Audio DS2

If compared between AFUL Snowy Night and Moondrop dawn pro. What’s the difference?
Sorry haven't heard the Dawn Pro.

Can you drive r70x with ds2?
Yes but they benefit from a desktop amplifier.

@VSN-wb2ly Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoy the channel content and find it helpful.
Do you sill recommend the m1060.
Compare to the sundara and the verum1
I've not heard the M1060 in about 4 years or more. I don't recall enough to give fair comparison.

DEW4X is more picky with what you pair it with. But I always did hear that little extra zip and zing.
I hope you get the Akliam Pd5 soon . I love the neutral signature of AkM chips
Thanks for the suggestion

That's why I don't go off specs alone but by listening experiences and then I explain that in my reviews. Thanks for the comment.
