I just got the moondrop dawn pro and I love it. But would it be worth it to go for something like the moonriver 2ti is it that much of an improvement over the dawn pro or should i go with something else? I love how the dawn pro sprinkles a little warmth to the sound and it smooths out the edginess you get sometimes in certain tracks that hurts your ears/makes you cringe a little. Also could you do the IBasso dc04pro and Cayin RU7 these two also seem to be very popular and im sure everyone here would like to know your thoughts on them. Thank you
I read a few reviews on this bad boy over on HeadFi earlier today and damn does this thing look fantastic. Thanks for the insight, Dave. I used to only be interested in the IEM portion of the channel 12 months ago, but I’ve grown to be a sucker for sources for the last 6 months so now your videos are the highlights. Lovely work, brother.
@Gizaudio hi, just found your channel and was going through some videos of usb dongle dac. I'm looking for one that has a " dynamic color" to the sound or even a " warmer color" . Can you recommend one below $100 that offers that , as well as enough power to easily drive big headphones? Thanks
Im still really enjoying my MuseHifi M3 II which I picked up based off of your rec. (or honestly I had already ordered it, but decided to keep it lol). I am becoming a fan of the dongle dac. up to this point, aside from the M3 ii, all of my portables are dac/amp combos. But I am definitely impressed by the power efficiency of some of the newer dongle dacs. Unfortunately, my lightning port is dying a slow painful death, so I might just wait to make a move on this one until after I pick up an iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Galaxy s23/24 Ultra if I can successfully escape the iOS ecosystem. in the middle of the night. When no one is looking. Especially my wife). Great, informative review again! Thank you!
Thanks for the review! Great video quality & editing! How does your previous under $100 favorite, the HiBy FC4, compare? Power level difference is not far apart + MQA.
Hello, I'm considering a dac upgrade for my Hidisz AP80 pro dap with an external dongle. I will only drive iems like the EPZ 530. EPZ had a warmish and thick BA bass with upfront transparant mids/vocals and sparkly, detailed treble. What i miss is a more tight and textured bass and texture in mid section, maybe also better and meaty dynamics. Which dongle will provide me this for about 100 USD? I was thinking Aful Snowynight , maybe Questyle m12i or..? Some power efficient dongle will be appreciated.
What IEM would you recommend for a $600 budget? They will mainly be used for gaming. Games like Tarkov were hearing footsteps is crucial. I also like kind of a warm sound with a little bit of bass.
Hi sir , I like very loud sound and heavy bass. Does FiiO btr15 combination with FiiO fh15 is good ? And in tws earbuds does FiiO fw5 have loud sound with heavy bass ?what is your recommendation for in ear with loud and bassy sound?
Hi sir i was looking for a dac/amp and your video just popped up. i use CCA PLA 13 IEM and i was also looking for a pair of iem cable for my IEM. Do You Know where i can buy one ? I currently use the 3.5 mm cables but i want to upgrade to 4.4mm cables.
Nice review, Dave. I've been watching your videos for a while and was convinced to buy the BTR7 as my first dongle, but now I'm not so sure. Do your thinks it's worth spend the extra $ on it or should I get the Aful?
I need a suggestion I'm using truthear X crinacle zero with Moondrop Dawn pro I mostly play games on pc with this. Second priority is music. I want to upgrade my portable dac. Which one should i take? 1)Shanling UA4 2) AUNE yuki se 3) Aful Snowy Or is there any other better options in this price range?
I love the reviews man, I just don't understand why I have only heard one single reviewer actually pronounce Aful correctly. Haven't they impressed us enough to at least say their name correctly?
There are a few manufacturers that actually do that you can utilize a inline microphone I don't know any off top of my head you could probably just Google them
From Apple dongle to iBassos to Questyle M15 to Qudelix 5K they all sound the same so best to concentrate on price to power output, build quality, outputs and other functionalities.
@@andresvr8357 There are cheap dongles that sound much worse than an Apple dongle, but a $200 dongle likely won't sound any better beyond power output reasons.
Hey, I'm a bit confused about the channel, sometimes there's Timmy in it, and sometimes an old dude spawn, is this a different channel? Did it get sold ?
If you can see the Pattern, Timmy mostly reviews an IEM and Headphones, while Dave (the Old Dude that Spawn randomly) is reviewing the DAC and maybe DAP 😅
?What are going on about? He's talking about how everyone thinks it's pronounced awful and joking it's too late to change what people think the pronunciation is. How does even need explaining? @@christoph9510
120mw vs 300mw. So quite a bit more power. But yeah, i guess depends on what you need to drive. Really love my Dawn Pro though. Got it at a good deal, $30, so even better value than its usual price.
@@KmtS9 Half the price, half the power. Seems about right. Though for IEM's and some headphones it's more then enough, IEM's for sure don't need this much power. So the question is how does it sound. Moondrop has less distortion at 0.0001% vs 0.00037%, Same power levels of 2/4Vrms but Aful had low/high gain while Moondrop just had one gain which is fine. Honestly the biggest selling points for each is Aful has the premium USB cable and more power at 300mw vs Moondrop has 100 levels of volume control, half the price and smaller. So the clear separation is do you need power and premium or save a couple bucks and get the smaller package with slightly better controls.
@@burns0100 agreed with your views. For how i use Dawn Pro, i really don't feel like i like much. So i certainly don't feel the need to shell almost 3-4x more than what i paid for the Dawn Pro. 😅 if money was no question, for sure i'd love to try out all these different dongles!

There are clear phases in this hobby, and I am also in the "sources" phase.

Aful is doing some good work in this space, thank Dave for this review.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
"linear, maybe a little warm" is nearly ideal in my book
It’s good to see you do another video for Gizaudio. Haven’t seen you on here in a while!
Thank you!
I am still a dapper guy. But this is a really nice and affordable dongle. Very AFUL style - solid. Thanks for the review.
You have such a nice house. I love the style. Man im so jealous
Lol, thanks so much, and thanks for watching!
How's it compare to the Tanchjim Space?

Any plans to review the Ibasso DC04 pro or DC06 pro , i have one of them and they are so good for the money

Oh this one should be good
Excelente video!!
Cual me recomiendas este o el ibasso dc04 pro?
Gracias
Does it have enough power to drive Sennheiser 6xx through the balanced output?
The specs suggest so. In reality I cant tell.
Anyone know how this compares to the Qudelix 5K? Would it be worth upgrading to this?
Will you be reviewing the new onix alpha xl1 dac/amp? I really would love one from you on this one!
Hey Dave... I've been wondering... How do you know when something new has arrived in the magic cabinet of many drawers? Does a bell ring or something?
Also... Where can I get one? They have them at Wayfair?

Wich of these is more dynamic?.
I think it’s quite tough to compete with the Qudelix 5K and all of its features..
bout time you came back .
those other chuckle heads don't inspire any confidence in what they have to say .

Why would I want to use a 2.5 over a 4.4??!

Better than ONIX ALPHA XI1 ?
How does this compare to the truthear shio?
From what I can see it doesn’t support mic input via 3.5, so I don’t ever see myself buying this.
Is the Yuki then worse than this?
I thought it said Awful snowy night 😂😂😂😂
Better than the Qudelix?
I love my qudelix.
Wow they really ought to change their company name. I thought the review was saying the dongle is awful.
Fiio ka13? Seems like a better version
pls review the Ziigaat nuo.
Its'awesome
My wife and I have these and they are so good, especially for the usual price they're at.
Without a dedicated amp? Then it's better for me to stick with the Ibasso DC04 Pro.
Not bad,the DC04 Pro is a very neutral one based on some reviews.
