The problem with shows like that they take away a lot your creative freedom. Richard makes great stuff on his own, let’s just support him here by watching and buying merch. More than likely if he did a show he might hate it, but you never know I suppose.

Bass love crappie because it keeps them from being eaten. I caught a foot long crappie 3 times in one day. He got away from me twice pulling off a nest. Finally I got him in my hands tight and he wasn't getting away. After I looked at him for a minute i let him go. He was just to beautiful and he had a nest to guard and he went right back to it all 3 times.

I'm an old son-of-a-gun and this was told to me by an older one. How do you catch a crappie with a nanner??? You hold the pealed nanner about 4 inches above the water and when the crappie comes out of the water to bite the nanner, you just plug the hole he came out of with the nanner and scoop him off the top of the water...

Richard, I recently found your channel. I'm a pretty doggone good trout, steelhead and salmon fly fisherman. But, we left the (Left coast) Pacific NW to retire away from the insane politics, and moved to South Carolina where people are more normal and where my vote may count once in a while. I don't know much of anything about warm water fishing, but I'm aiming to learn. I will still go out West for a fishing trip each year, but you have helped me add a whole other dimension to my fishing. I never fished when it was this hot before! Thank you for all the tips. I caught my first Crappie the other day from a kayak based on your advice. You are the best. God Bless, brother.

I use two colors white in stained and dingy. White crappie jig with a white grub worm with procure trophy bass. In clear water a natural color Bobby Garland crappie soft plastic that looks like a small bait fish with trophy bass by procure. That's what works for me. If I use a bobber I go 15 inch in heavier grass areas up to 20 inch leader. Also, if it depends on the tide. Low tide 14 to 15 inch. High tide 18 to 20 inches.

Richard Gene ! , You ever have yourself a Kencore Rod ? A 1950's thru 1990's American made in So Cal, usually ultra light glass rod, a favorite for Crappie and trouters,.. a unique " Tenlew Magnaglass rod, blanks made in Japan, rods built in So Cal, all managed by a Korean man, he insisted on hiring and training women who were already factory seamstresses. To tie them rods, so the story goes, company is no longer. I have a strange brown colored blank, 2 piece, 5'7" kinda stiff, like a short piece bass rod.

Weight and bobber fishing closer to the bank using minnows is usually what I end up doing in the Spring. Summer, dropping down deeper over trees or under bridges using no bobber.

Richard, you made 2 shows in one. You were fishing and Mama Sue was squirrel hunting.

I get so much in my left brain, I forget to enjoy the catch. Helping someone else enjoy catching fish is far more rewarding.

If a young man is looking for the right woman and he fishes and hunts; shop for her where you shop for gear. She will want to go with you and not sit at home griping because he is leaving her alone all the time for sure. Mom was a better shot and hunter than was Dad. (Never told him that ! )
