One of the biggest reasons why I love your show is the fact that you don’t sit and watch your screen, targeting exactly the depth of the fish, watch your jig literally dangle in their face and clean them out. I just can’t respect that type of fishing “in my opinion.” So, thanks for fishing the way I can respect and constantly tune in.

One thing I have learnt the hard way about keeping bait alive... if you don't have a fancy bait tank and all you have are 5 gal buckets, the use more buckets. Never keep more than about a dozen shad in a single 5 gal bucket. The more you have over 1 dozen, the faster they will die. If you need 3 dozen, then use 3 buckets with 1 dozen each. And while you are fishing, you can change out the water in the bucket for fresh. Use a cheap dip net. Even in hot weather, you can keep bait alive in a bucket with no aerator and no salt if you keep the number under a dozen per bucket. The number of shad per bucket is more important than water temperature in my opinion.

I absolutely love fishing for crappie with bigger shad. We caught a cooler full of giant crappie on bigger shad. We ran outta minners and I threw a net and caught a bunch just to try. To my amazement I caught one and he was a great ol good un. All night 12 to 15 inch crappie. More fun than you should be able to have. God bless you Richard Gene the Fishing Machine, keep hookin em 🙏

Sure do love seeing you fish up in S'boro area. After catching the active bass on spinnerbaits, I made my dad mad several times throwing a little george on the corner of that boat chute catching mostly stripes. (back in the early 80s, there were fish everywhere and they would get to chasing baitfish in huge rallies). Don't know if you been up the river from there but above the jones creek channel and below the transmission lines there are some pockets of 60' water. Some nice catfish come out from that area. (I think that is a 3-5mi run from the landing there).
