I have just had major dental surgery ,implants hurt like hell so remember to brush your teeth guys. and when i heal up im gonna eat every bit of steak in sight.Great video as always Darren .Channel just keeps growing and getting better every day.
Been to Gaucho in Leeds many times. My mate and I always get the chateau briand to share. Quality is outstanding.
I had chicken fried rice and curry sauce in a Chinese takeaway with two tables. I'm right handed and used a fork in my right hand, so you have a point.

They sit you near other people even though its half full because it saves on there walking , if your close to all the others , its less ground for them to cover

Plain to see, THAT was your kind of food. Glad you enjoyed it. I agree with a previous comment about having a fork as well as a spoon for your desert. Nothing worse than chasing your food around the plate and then having to use your fingers to push it onto the spoon. A desert fork would have helped with that

Glad you explained the knife and fork situation ..I am right handed but hold my fork in my left hand and knife in my right..I have tried your technique but I look like an infant trying to master the art of getting food into my mouth..ha ha..just out of curiosity which technique do your children use..only being nosey..😉🤭

I did a score at Five Guys when I was last at the o2, so £30 for Gauchos is the business!
I luv Goucho been twice once in central London away for work so it was free, i was blown away was on a evening 3 course meal great. also been to the one in Edingbough for my birthday it was an evening but did a deal that you could take your own wine in no charge for opening so Malbec from Tesco's it was lovely food i had a speciality sirloin 40 day aged the ones you showed on the bottom and scallop's for started the best.

With regards to which hand you eat in. It doesn't matter. I've always had my fork in my right hand and knife in the left. It's how you're comfortable.

Hi Darren, I assume the steak tasted great but I was surprised about the lack of colour/sear on it. It looked like a pork steak to me. With regard to the knife and fork business I always thought you were left handed. I'm right handed and yes if I am only using a fork, to eat spaghetti for instance or curry and rice I will hold the fork in my right hand. But if I need to use a knife to cut up the food it would feel horribly awkward to cut with my left hand. Raising the food to my mouth with my left hand feels completely natural although I am a righty. However if I was only using a fork it would feel odd to use my left hand. Go figure as our American friends would say.

After years of trying them: Arg. Sausage Plate - Gaucho Sampler (for 2 obvs) - Don Pedro to finish... don't go often.
Using the fork as a fork, not a shovel makes all the difference...😉

Wow. A fantastic price for the quality and it was in abundance there. The chocolate brownie was the star for me along with the scoop of ice cream. I am left handed and hold the fork in my left hand and knife in the right, no correct way it is what feels comfortable for the person. Keep the quality coming.

How a steak is cooked is subjective and varies for many , I personally prefer it well done but none of them are wrong for the person eating it 😁

DJ IMHO yes it was VFM. But....
Was that black pudding in the middle of the sausage plater, if not that was burnt.
Re the steak, that's the weirdest shaped sirloin I've seen and also very little fat for that cut. It had almost zero carmalisation and was also pooling blood on top. Meaning it should have been rested longer and also it should have had more colour yet the meat was probably cooked ok.
The brownie looked fantastic

I had a 400g fillet there last week (well a different branch) and it was utterly divine.

Those sausages are just how I like them - burnt to a crisp so that they can only be identified by reference to their dental records.
I don't know how your video came to me, but I really enjoyed it. The food certainly looked as good as i assumed it tasted. Also, I'm so glad you eat "right handed" - I'm a lefty and all I ever see is right-handed people eating wrong 😄

Although Gaucho serves some wonderful steaks Darren is it Londons best steakhouse... Hum.. That's a tricky question to ask since you've got Hawksmoor as well.. For me Hawksmoor would take number one spot.. but not by much.

My kind of food. Looks excellent. I always use my left hand for my fork but I don't think there's any set rules. Seems like Americans change hands during meals, cut with the right hand then change to fork in right hand.

Instead of pushing it around the plate or using your finger or thumb which is what you nearly did !

I enjoy all these places that you go to I have never heard of Goucho and in any case these places are totally out of my league.
Yes I live a good life and love my food but sorry it seems that all these places are only for the well off and people who are not bothered in how much they spend on a meal so they places are for very special occassions only.
Sorry this is just me I think £30 for a three course special lunch is over the top in this current climate .

I think eating utensil etiquette comes from how the table is set, fork on the left and knife on the right. Myself personally I couldn't care less as long as you don't use your feet...
To me the steak looked medium rare and not cooked enough for my liking. Good value for 30 quid for 3 courses these days.

On the great knofe and fork debate. Before the fork came to the table, people held the knife in the right hand and used it to put food in the mouth. When the fork arrived, it went in the left hand to hold the food steady while cutting then got transferred to the right hand to put the food in the mouth. Darren scores😘
