I got them kinda reluctantly because a friend wanted to split the box to get the pyregheists, but they sound better and better the more I listen to your descriptions.
I m afraid these will end up being the Askurgan Trueblades of Order. Where the leader is fenomenal to take as an ally (and by the points of it really looks like this is how they thought this warband) but the warband feels meh at most if runn as pure faction (the difference with the Trueblades being Riverblades have abilities and not stats while Trueblades have the opposite).
Possibly. But askurgans are comfortably on the mid-tiers, which is fine. Plus I vastly prefer Order ally to Death. I suspect the leader will be taken more than the Warband though
Guys, I'm so sorry. I didn't know I had enough sway with GW to get an Internet Historian model line made, if I knew that, I'd have had them bring back Mordheim....
So, I like this. It's nice. Sadly, some of those lists wouldn't be possible since the box allows you to make only one roped sickle Crestdancer and one Crestblade Stream-Runner.
What would be the best elf allies, apart from high sentinel, for them? I know an elf wont cover the warbands weaknesses as well but if you wanna keep the elf feeling.
I could see something from the Darkling Covens doing ok. Perhaps an Assassin for some decent chaff clearing potential. High Sentinel is a solid support unit. The Scinari Cathallar has a fun triple called Emotional Transferrance which I enjoy using in Lumineth (it may not be the best ability, but it is quirky) The Truestone Seneschal is very solid for 105 points - even if they are only M3. You could also look into thing like Akellian Kings from Idoneth or Bloodwrack Medusa from Daughters of Khain. Gorgai are fun too
Well I was excited to play them and I am even more so now. It really is a shame about the Crestdancers because they look very cool though I was tempted to use them with Hexbane already so I guess it's not a major loss.
@wargamesontoast Just need to go 2 Purebloods, 1 with darts + strength, 1 with blades + str and the rest just crestblades and watch the madness unfold. Is it practical? Probably not. Is it going to be a funny time? Most likely
Darts is the safer option - ideal for movement support and threat projection. The blade version is disgusting when it comes to damage, you just have to be incredibly careful as they are made of paper. They both have their uses. If I was to pick, id say the blade version is more fun to mess around with

They are very funky and even if you just take the leader, you’re getting a great Ally!

As long as you learn from your mistakes, it’s all good XD

The unfortunate downside of GW boxes is requirement to buy multiple to optimise. Sadly.

They suffer the typical mid-range curse. This is double because they are also Aelves hahaha

@Vaellas this is the way
My Toast is now soggy and I couldnt be happier 😜
They beat kind of toast. Reminiscent of beans on toast
And what ttpe of seneschal are you making? With blades or darts?

I'm a bit sad that they didnt buff the chaff damage profile a bit. If elves are so fragile they should hit better. Just a +1 crit would do it.
They are a bit noodly, and incredibly vulnerable to being countered to death - the elf curse
Boss of warband is a boy )
All elves go by she/her/moist
