    You gotta tell my company about inflation we're trying to feed a family of 5 and I haven't had an adjustment in years. Lol.
    The writing is on the wall, time to move on.

    Damn! 56 yrs old and been in this business since 1986. Couldn't have said the words any better!! Made magazine covers and top awards at big shows, won f100 supernationals in 2000. I love doing the work, but the lack of customers understanding has me on burn out! Great video. I know your speaking the truth!

    Perfection has become the norm when it very often doesn't need to be. Most people can afford a nice recreational automobile. However, you have to manage expectations.

      Agreed. This is just about levels. If I take my car for a build to KC, I expect to win almost every car show that I attend, national level shows. To my fellow car guys who aren't wealthy, do as much wrenching as you can.

      @@focused313for sure and to some, like myself the wrenching on it, modifying, tinkering, etc. is almost better than the joyrides

    KC, your customers are paying for you & your team”s experience, expertise, knowledge, & high level craftsmanship. Get paid for your skills. Nobody works for free, not even those other shops that are happy doing bad work.

    I wish they would do an episode type build. Show a build from start to finish. I bet his subscriptions would blow up.

    Obviously, pertectionism and obsessive attention to detail is why you are "here". But how to inform clients of that obsession with quality. Do you have "A B C" photos to show the available options? "Here's a booger job, here's a half assed job, now, here's what we do" kind of thing? Or maybe someone wants to pay less for a half assed job? Who knows? Good enough might be good enough. They are canvases. You can scrape them off and do a better job "someday", right? As long as the customer is happy and you get paid for your work. p.s. I am also currently sporting a mullet. And a ZZ Top/David Letterman beard. So, Rock On...

    "I can't even buy the materials to do these cars for $15,000 no more" 😲😲😲 Geesh. Does the shop have different levels of paint work? Meaning will they ever do..."scuff and shoot"? Or is everything frame off, every disassembled, everything sanded and painted?

    • @stephenlea5765
      @stephenlea5765 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Every shop’s reputation hinges on the work that rolls out of the shop. As 80%+ of a paint job is dependent upon the body work underneath, would they be willing to put their name on paint job over someone else’s work?

    • @Crazycarlisle

      I would almost guarantee they would not entertain a scuff and shoot. He would send you down the road.

    So true. That’s why I took a community college course on welding and body work. It’s paid off and now I only send out my cars for paint.
