Note he’s using plastic tweezers for the battery because you can short circuit the battery if metal touches the bottom of battery also very important when doing capacitors (rechargeable battery) great video thanks 🙏🏽
I have the exact same model and I have had this for fifteen years however over the past three years I have left it in the sun to keep it charged. The watch out out by only 8 seconds in that time which is simply amazing.
I have had the same model since 2001. These are not the eco drive version. The next Gen after this model are the eco-drives. Guess they sold a ton. I now have a collection of eco drives. The best in my opinion.

I have the new Citizen titanium flat and super titanium chronos with black or blue face all analog dials, but I also have numerous older AnaDigi watches like the C650 flighthawk and skyhawk in pristine condition. Love that retro slide rule calculator! Not a ton of money, but look great on the wrist and very accurate. My C650s are as accurate as the new ones.
Is the battery used in the nighthawk similar to this? Great vid although i think i would've used some finger condoms for this procedure as a precaution. Still this is very helpful. Thanks!
I'd guess some kind of silicone oil or grease. Mineral oils and stuff like Vaseline would tend to attack the rubber. I imagine the reason is the same we use for lubricating the oil seal when we change the car's oil filter canister: Stops the rubber dragging and picking-up when tightening.

I'm puzzled. On the inside of the back are instructions to short the (+) side of the battery to the point marked AR. Step two is set the watch to CHR and pull (M). You didn't do either. Why is that?
Strangely, I had to do the above 2 steps (I contacted (+) to the lowest of the 4 bronze coloured circles). Step cleared some strange/incomplete LCD display. Step 2 resulted in a "beep" and hand movement (not sure what that was for..).
I took mine to a jeweller to change the battery....he charged me £120 ....told me it had to be sent away to citizen as it was complicated and needed setting up ....think I was ripped off....😳😳
After watching your video on how to replace the battery and reset the watch I'm going to do mine myself this time...can't believe they charged me £120 last time to get it done. I see you used the same case seal....what was it you did when you put it in the case with the sponge foam...I've been trying to locate a new seal but don't know what part number it is...so if it's ok to use the same seal I'll just get a new battery...thanks so much for showing us how to do this....it's amazing...
A battery costs about £2 he ripped you off and added his labour cost.As a bench jeweller i do my own and friends watch battery changes and watch strap adjustments.
I bought the battery and fitted it myself.Battery cost me £3.50.You GOT RIPPED OFF BIG TIME.I am a bench jeweller by trade and there are RIPOFF JEWELLERS IN THE TRADE unfortunately.

I think that's a fake. All citizen blue angels watches I know have snap on backs and eco drive. This watch uses a battery not a capacitor. Please correct me if I am wrong.
