Thanks for getting all this information for us - you are a great representative of the Metazoo community. Crazy how there was so much division within the company behind the scenes. The formal nature of how the emails and messages were written seems like everyone was expecting shit to hit the fan and everyone was pre-emptively covering their own asses.
Thank you for taking on the mission to share this with us. It’s much appreciated. Many thoughts are running through my head after reading all the messages. A lot could have been done differently on MetaZoo’s part. It’s just like everything shattered, and no one took the responsibility to collect all the pieces.

Here's what I make of this. Mike went into fight or flight mode when the company was going down. He resigned quickly in hopes of avoiding what he could of imagined/expected as forthcoming criminal and civil lawsuits.
After the dust settled and no top executives went to jail... And he got his nerve back... Especially after seeing people profit. He wants back in to do the right thing?
If he put 500,000 of his own money in to pay off the people that he wanted paid... It's hard to imagine why he wouldn't have done that directly himself. So he is saying he delegated his 500,000 from his own bank account to STAFF to follow through on his plan? That's hard to imagine.
It also baffles me on when the sink was shipping and creditors needed to be paid... Why they didn't start selling stuff under a still alive company.
Saying the zoo was basically done and Mike was leaving wasn't going to get the most money from liquidation to creditors.
And so goes this ongoing wild drama on the zoo The story that keeps getting worse and unimaginable.

The only problem I have with anything said is nick saying "get the people paid back who deserve to get paid back." So the thousands I spent on pre-orders, do I deserve to get that back or am I one of those who don't? Anyone who gave their hard earned money and didn't receive a product in return deserves to get their money back, not just who anyone at metazoo thinks "deserves" to get their money back.
Putting all this shit aside I hope that once it is all over, they do the right thing and sell Meta Zoo to a company that can resurrect it and make it great because I truly love this TCG despite all the crap going on I really think the art style the different themes and the hole cryptozoology is so cool and unique. Fingers crossed.

Not gonna lie, keeping an open mind was difficult, but I saw at least 1 thing (the fact that Shaw lied about who wanted more money) that I just believed cuz it was so in line with Mike's public image. Good to have some solid answers.
Who informed Mike to step down? He doesn’t even answer the question from his team, and he was demanding it in writing from them? Why didn’t he ask the person who informed him to step down to give it to him in writing?

I really don't think he is anywhere near hero status. He destroyed the company. Now he is flailing to try and save his name after leaving it to die. Notice there was no answer from him about who was telling him to resign? Probably because no one was, he was wanting to bail ship when it was going down. A lot of this did not really prove what mike was saying it did (the emails about the 100k vs 250k did not prove that it was not the 100k that made the buyer deny the sale, it just shows that someone else wanted more, its possible the buyer was not willing to give ANY extra money to mike or "blank"). I think everyone involved in this disaster is still villain status.

Nah, I think it aligns with what Shaw's been saying. Mike is extremely unstable, they had some notice about a "letter" but didn't know to what extent.

But, when people had hundreds if not thousands of dollars in limbo waiting on preorders after preorders, and getting banned when asking about where TF they're items are, everything was just whatever, and communication wasnt important.

I wasn't arrested for stealing metazoo cards. I was caught with methamphetamines. This story needs to be corrected.
I see alot of cope in the community about Mike being a good guy,while some things were not his fault he still treated artists,customers and employees unfairly and is childish and petty to run a company.I hope he is able to file,refund customers and then remove himself completely from MZ
With the whole "mike needing too much money" thing. That does not really address that fully. We still have no idea what the buyers response was. For all we know Mike AND blank were asking too much money, for all we know they did not want to pay out ANY extra cash considering the debt the company is in. That is a bit manipulative to say (not you Nick, but of Mike) that this responds to that worry. Sure "blank" wanted 250k, but even mike wanting 100k could have been a deal breaker.
Reading the email Shaw still seemed interested at 250k a piece. Seems likely it would've gotten done at 100.
It's really insane that Aoki killed a deal for 150k (assuming the original 100k wasn't a deal breaker... But at the end of the day, even 100k is crazy if they were willing to let them keep 5% each). Like... That's peanuts given what I assume is his net worth 50% of 0 value or 5% plus 100k... You choose the later everytime...that or you participate in the new round of investment if you think the inherent value is higher and back the new management.

As a Metazoo fan and holder. I’m upset you get know the redacted names and me/we don’t. because it doesn’t allow Me to really know what’s going on. I believe a lot of another big manes are involved and I want to know those names.
All this says to me is Mike surrounded the company with the wrong people and that’s his fault. It doesn’t matter to me what happened when they closed down it matters why it got to that point.
