The fact the 1.7 million took down a company that made 20+ million for 2 years in a row, and even "only" 7 million in a year, shows that there was so much mismanagement and stupidity and all this was unnecessary. This is 100% the ownerships fault and I am super disappointed that they failed us all while filling their own bank accounts. Pathetic, sad and pathetic.

If I were in your position I'd go for it and put in an offer. We've seen how much product you've bought to open on this channel the past 4 years, now your "product" would be a company itself. A company that pretty much whatever fan-base is left all show up here and watch your videos anyway. You wouldn't even have to pitch anything new like you would with a new KS card game.
The upside of getting the MZ IP is that you would get the Moth, Frog and a few other staple art designs. Additionally it would probably come with the Topps partnership connection. All the old inventory. Plus the established fan-base as mentioned.
You could do a complete re-brand and re-boot for the first 2.0 set and make it a KickStarter again, that way costs are paid up-front by all of us looking to collect/play the new version.
I'd 100% support the game again if you were an owner/co-owner, partner, etc.
I've felt this way for a while now but you are the only person I'd feel comfortable with attempting this endeavor. Personally I'd advise against teaming up with someone like Umu who is solely interested for the clout aspect / trolling capabilities. You genuinely love the cards and cryptids unlike him. If you team up with anyone pls team up with someone who shares your love of the game/IP. It's all still too early to determine but I have heard Bailey and other prominent members of the former MZ community are working on their own cryptid TCG called Cryptid Camp. If I were you, I'd reach out to them to see if any of them would be interested in teaming up. Why start from ground zero when we could pick up where we left off? They clearly were slighted by MZ and want to do things their way. If I were in your shoes and the offer was accepted, I'd pick up where the game left off. War was mid-playtesting and SCP was essentially ready to print. Those sets alone could've been enough to fix the problem had they not gone into bankruptcy and they are already done and ready to print. Learn from their mistakes. You've seen it and reported on it all so you know what the fans want. Less promos, don't print 100k boxes, don't charge $140 a box MSRP. make the game approachable. If there is any hope for this, we'd be lucky to have it in your hands. However I can't stress enough, yes Umu is a lawyer and has the money to contribute but he would be possibly the worst person to team up with if you want to see the game succeed. There is still a lot of value in the IP just my 2 cents. Someone could put it back on course if they were passionate about it.

Nick, the inventory would need to be treated as dead stock and evaluated as such. The only value in this whole mess would be the Metazoo IP and that may be to severely tattered to shine again. However, if we can bring some key meta players on board, I would consider a partnership.

Just FYI, I run logistics for a company out of Michigan and freight from California to Ohio would be about 4500-5000 a truckload. You can fit 26 4ftX4ft pallets on a standard semi trailor. So you're looking at about 20k-25k per 100 pallets to ship.
Crowd source some funds, I'll drop a couple k for a percent of fan ownership and I'm sure other people that would like to see you at the helm would too. Just if it happens don't go radio silent n disappear lol

I have enough to contribute a significant portion. I could match your contribution, but actually doing so feels daunting. Idk if that would be the best decision ever or a total bust. I love the idea of reviving my favorite card game and doing it right with genuine passion and not being enveloped in greed.

Start a kickstarter for the purchase - the financial burden can be shared between the community at very small costs that can aggregate to a significant top level figure to offer - only condition I would have is that you are the CEO of metazoo going forward, we don’t trust the current company, but we trust you and can trust MetaZoo again

The scary thing from these number is that.....for the 1.7m debt, 1.5 are "unimportant debter", aka people who did pre-ordered.....very little are from other expenses or major retailer ...which lead to the same old story again ...MW could very well just scam everybody's money, file bankcrupcy, then run away with the money here, while all of you still here thinking he is the good dude.

@@nicksstrengthandpokemon6353 I’m in for $200k. As you mentioned, it’s not the purchase of IP and inventory that’s tricky, it’s all of the overhead costs. In addition to that, distribution and LGS relationships have been burnt beyond repair.
A large factor too is if Mike will comply with the bankruptcy and willingly give over the IP. Or is he going to rack up attorney costs for the buyer. It’s all pretty messy but not impossible. I messaged you on IG we can chat further on there, if you’d like.
I'm totally on for the rise of Metazoo. I hope you decide to buy the IP. It would be very cool to see a TCG rise from the ashes and become even better.

I personally think Nick is by far the best candidate for the purchase. He loves Metazoo and highly a logical and critical thinker! However, history has tough us that if there is a partnership, both have to be in the same page and with the same intensions. I have watched many of Umu's videos prior to the entire fallout. He has been very negative from the start not only to Metazoo itself but to the people supporting it, and in my opinion, does not have the heart for Metazoo. With all due respect, I don't think Umu is right for Metazoo. With that said, wish you all best of luck!

Did you know there is a documentary about Goldin on Netflix called King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch, and in that Documentary they talk with Steve Aoki who says that he started Metazoo? I've been watching the series. It's actually pretty good.

Metazoo stood out as TCG for its fourth wall breaking, I’ve always felt this was its biggest advantage over other games and should have been the area of interest. For example bringing a lighter out midway through a game to flip the odds for cards affected by it. If there is a solid plan to put this game back in the hands of fans and develop on its core game rather than developing hello kitty sets. I’d be interested, as a british isles resident.
If Nick bought Metazoo I would collect it again.

Nick, you could do a new series for it called the strength and power collaboration and make the art of all of them a certain style and have them all appear with certain "physiques" if you catch my drift. I'm not an artist but I'm an idea man and I already mapped out a few ideas just listening to this video.

This is great news. They are taking offers. Let's figure out an offer (considering potential fees). Once we make it, it will be binding. Our offer should be in the ball park. But I agree with need an itemized list. I also want to see their accounting books. Crazy how Aoki has 45%. Also who is Craig? lol. We need to figure out who is in charge of their networking because they actually did a great job. We probably want to keep someone on the list of owners. More likely than not, they are essential to the success. Someone did a ton of work with the collabs. That person is very valuable to the company.
I would avoid this at all costs. Its a failed company & they just trying to dump this nightmare on someone else...

Definitely a risk, but also one of those opportunities that doesn’t come around very often. Would for sure be great to see Metazoo live on and have some sort of future. as someone that worked close with waddles early on this is a bad idea waddles owns the reproduction rights to the art just let the company die and take the name for free after nobody can fight for it anymore
You'd have to make sure current insiders are not holding high end cards outside of the inventory they are selling. It would be bad if you bought it and Mike was holding on to some very rare cards and then started selling them, or sold them through a friend. That would further diminish the brand while it was under your ownership.
