Very nicely done. Now a majority of the ppl watching will go and buy a dr650 and only then realise it’s not the bike but the super talented mind blowing rider that is the star here.
Fantastic riding! Such a change to see a guy riding a simple old trail bike so well over serious obstacles. Lovely exhaust noise too, just a nice background burble instead of a high pitch scream. Just shows what a guy who knows his bike well can do. There is an old saying in shooting "beware of the man who only shoots with one gun because chances are he will outshoot everybody else" well I reckon this could be a case of "beware of the man who rides just one bike"!
Haha I like that, only one vehicle for me, so needs to get me around town, out camping and checking my old single trails, all in one. Thanks for popping in with that cool insight

I’ve been riding for 2 decades and this is super impressive! Your balance is unreal. Timing perfect. Those big logs freak me out but you made them look easy. Well done
i ride dr650 2003 (not rally moded) and i do a 4 steps shortcut everyday and its just a no brainer. i realised that obstacles around lamp height are the most easy one for the RHINOS- this bike behavior is more controlled and consistent from my endruro's (gasgas 4-250/2-300) in this segment there's a reason this bike havent change for almost 20 years. hes the best.
I have an ‘09 DR650 (25,000 miles) and ‘21 CRF450RL (9,900 miles) - oddly I find myself going back to the DR more and more for most of my riding. I would still rather ride that terrain with my CRF - but the DR doesn’t disappoint to often.

Happy to drop off my DR (with a few slabs) and leave it with you for a few weeks if you can train it to do that. It's fine launching off big logs, it just needs to learn how to land wheels-down (with me still on it) and keep going. We've had a few talks about it, but it won't listen to me... 🙂
Nice work with the bush pig. I sure miss mine. Rode it like a dirt bike too when I was in between bikes. Rack up 55,000 miles on it. There’s nothing out there quite like it. I may have to get another.
Had two DR's plus some cantankerous KLR's over the years and dumped 'em all real good and am now riding a DRZ (cause it's slightly easier to pick up) in the hopes to ride bigger obstacles like a walk in the park. At this date, still not achieving on the DRZ what I just witnessed in this awesome eye opening vid. "Practice" seems to be the Word o the Day ...Ha
I had to choose between a KLR and a DR back in 2007. Tough call. Got the KLR and it's been great, but I still feel the DR is the better choice. If I were getting a bike today that's what I'd get.
Pity they have the trucks in there tearing the trees down now. Couldn't follow some of the track and ended going backwards. Wanted to find the big tyre setup

have you found it yet? I have ridden past them plenty of times. unfortunately I don't have the skill to attempt them. the loggers have backed off, but there is more bush marked for clearing . It's an Olympus EM5 iii with compact zoom lens, great size to stash in the tank bag. List of what i use to shoot with is in video description if you're interested
What did you do to your dr to give it the power to pull the front wheel up like that? I changed my front sprocket to be able to go slower and add torque. I also changed the exhaust but now I need to re-jet. Not sure what size.
I have 29" inseams and lowered my DR. Still can't flat foot. I am about to buy the Soupys lowering kit. What is your height? I see you are not able to flat-foot, but you spin the DR650 like a top! Very impressive.
Shave the seat, just in the center if you haven't already done that, you can still scoot back when sitting down if you need good padding. I don't think you need to quite flat foot, but in this type of riding and especially tighter stuff, at least balls of feet on the ground imv is pretty much a must.
@@gromit576 I have over a thousand hours on a small bike so far, if you do anything other than ride in a straight line, you will find that dropping your bike is absolutely routine lol. The trick for me was and still is, learning to jump off the bike in any situation to avoid being crushed lol, though there are plenty of times where the crash velocity exceeds reaction time, and you're leg winds up under the bike. I ride alone which is NOT recommended, so even with my lighter bike, I'll lay the bike down once in a while and figure out how I'm going to get my leg out from underneath the bike. -------------- I have the same inseam (29) in many/most cases inseam is more relevant than height.

Had to clean up the ' little Bertha ' clip but not a good crash. Other than that a couple of our previous "shorts" vids are log hop mistakes
