whatever coming from RE could not be trusted too much, i was using a gt 650 for the past 3 years and it was always sick whenever there is a rain, i changed the wiring kit 2-3 times completely, all the electronics including abs failed several times, now using a 390 adv for 6 months and its very reliable and fun

As a owner of Bs3 Himalayan I can attest to the fact that electrical suck IN Re bikes. No wonder people sell their bikes in just 6 months ( those who can afford to shell out extra money to buy new bike).
I'll be moving to triumph 400x once the 2nd lot of bikes are out. Till then will have enough data points.

    Hello,
I own the Adv-x and got a mileage of 33 to 36kmpl for my zanskar trip with gear changing at 6 to 6.5k rpm. It all depends on how we ride the bike and how much of the unnecessary breaking we use.

Im not a RE fan rather I love ktm. But Re has done something that deserves claps. If it works as it says on pen and paper then ktm should think again and not only ktm but all the bike companies who are planning to leave a mark or want to capture the adv market of India. Salling is all about customers desire fulfillment. And RE Himalayan has topped the exam with the highest percentage as it seems till now. Being a rider im happy that the market is getting more competitive. I hope soon i will see some new adv from other companies too.

I agree with you. I own a 250 Adv, not the 390. However, this engine is one of the most unrefined engines I have come across in this segment. It is as you described, quite rough and unpleasant to ride most of the time. On a daily basis on city rides, you will hate it for the gear shifts and the heating in heavy traffic and the wide handlebars don't help either. I own a classic 500. Its a good MC. But it is best till 80kmph. After that it vibrates as if all its parts will fall apart. Although i have taken it till 125 once just to test, but its not at all made for those speeds. So whats the use of having that much bhp or torque if it cannot be used. I guess thats y they discontinued classic 500. I will definitely buy Himalayan replacing my Classic 500. But will wait for the second lot and ownership reviews.

Tubeless spoke wheels are under BIS certification. Its a long process of Bharat Sarkar. They can export those but not sell here till cleared. But be rest assured it will be available very soon. And who knows may be RE deliberately holding it back to keep the talk and interest going for its bikes.
