What about the ability to reply to messages on the message app the text message app you can receive messages but you can't reply WTF is at all about what's the point in having the nook phone if we can reply to messages then

Have given the game a lot of crap for feeling very bland and missing tons of content. After this, this gets me back into the game for a good while. Only disappointment is no clue if there's new NPC dialogue and no shop upgrades. Otherwise, this is what we need and can't wait for the 5th!
It's sad to see that New Horizons still doesn't have the villager mechanics in the game. Thats the one thing keeping it from being a good AC game in my eyes.

So i’m in my 20s and was just hospitalized with a stroke. This game got all of us thru covid, and this update is about to drop right when i need something to help me on (hopefully) my road to recovery. something to sink hundreds more hours too and try to forget about my worries again. It’s going to be hard learning to use my arm and leg again and not being able to make music for a while or potentially again but i do look forward to getting lost in this game again and forgetting about all that for a while. love you all. hope everyone makes their islands even greater with all this new content. Thank you Nintendo, you’re life savers.

With an "Update" being just that, an update. However "DLC" does mean "Downloadable Content" and Updates are downloaded, and usually have content, so the term "DLC" can describe an update. But that might be wrong, and "Free DLC" could be used for some other reason that I am unaware of.

Honestly yes! And the atm having to make a fast buy at Mabel’s/ nooks right before they close was so annoying having to get bells from home/residence service
Until then you can always use the mario pipe decor you can buy at the machine in the town hall. I only just found out that if you place 2 down you can teleport between them and it's saved me so much hassle of constantly running from one side of my island to the other :)

I haven’t played this game in months, but I used to play it everyday with my school friends since the day it came out. We just did everything we could. I can’t believe I’m gonna have to call up my friend across the country in college and say “Dude. They updated it. BIG TIME.” Thanks for making Uni a lot better Nintendo :)

I was shocked by HOW MUCH things were changing. They actually listened to what we wanted, such as the Brewster and adding old characters back. Things we didn't even realised we needed, such as changing your house design. Time to get my switch out. :)
I honestly see why they took so long. They wanted people to take a break and dive back in full force, which is what I will happily do. There's just too many features for this to have been developed within a year... This stuff has to have been in development for a lot longer, or maybe I'm wrong. Def looks like so much love was out into this project though. This game is like ten times more beautiful than any other switch game imo 😍
I'm so glad this update is huge, I honestly ran out of things to do and this feels like a years worth of content to explore. If Nintendo is listening, my dream is to have a "shared island" mode where multiple players can live on the same island. It would be so much fun to decorate and change things, knowing the other players will see it. Or coming back and finding some surprises that they have done.

don't know about you but I needed this game in quarantine, even when it was unfinished. it's what helped me stay happy even with declining mental health and what's going on in the world.
I think they might've done that on purpose to see what people wanted so they could make one mass update with all of it so people could be properly satisfied. As messed up as it is, it's kinda genius.
When Kapp’n appeared on screen a wave of nostalgia just hit me. It brings me back to when I first got my AC 3dsXL and would always go to Tortimer island with my brother while listening to Kapp’n sing.
i'll admit, i've been off animal crossing for a couple months now. the game got a bit too repetitive and nothing interesting was ever really happening on my island. but i cannot wait to start playing again with this update. it's starting to feel like the older animal crossing games again :))
At first I was expecting Brewster and nothing much else, but its like a whole extra game added on! Plus, with the new DLC oh gosh its gonna be SO GOOD! :)
Still feels like content that should have been in the game from the start, but I’m happy they’re continuing to update the game substantially. It would be otherworldly if they took those QoL videos to heart and made the mechanics of the game less tedious and more streamlined. 😭🙌

Fantastic! Here are a few things I was hoping to see but didn’t. 1. Bulk crafting. Like for fishing bait for example. 2. Being able to use crafting materials if they’re in storage, without having to take them out. 3. A villager radar or something that shows their positions on the map, in case you need to find one in a hurry. 4. Remote access to storage from anywhere 5. And maybe like a little boat of your own that’s a little faster than swimming, where you can fish or haul things out of the sea from.

I just gotta say "wow". I have been absent from new horizons for a while after a combination of feeling it lacking compared to New Leaf and just having so many other games to play. But damn am I ready to jump back in, this update is exciting and borderline overwhelming. EXACTLY what it needed.
I really hope that there's more dialogue and like varied interactions. It's still so frustrating how much pocket camp has in comparison and that game is free. Still very excited for this update though and cannot wait to pick the game back up again.
The issue with this is the delivery of major content besides villager dialouges. I understand your frustration, but I don't think they're really going to fix it. The only enhancement they did has been the house invitations. - It also says "last major update" to the game, which makes me quite sad, since that indicates that the Nook Cranny's will never get an upgrade to a bigger shop again (and also no more villager dialouges), but let's see if Nintendo will surprise us - Hopefully they do :)
They waited and waited then literally put every single feature that all players wanted in one single massive update. They resurrected the game and I think it is much better than ever. I hope the developers will get less and less stubborn with quality of life changes in the future, like crafting multiple fish bait at once or not having to read a whole novel when Gulliver is on your island.

@@Goremize I believe they are not improving that deliberately, there is no other explanation. In their minds it is meant to be that way, feedback from the fanbase or players doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately Nintendo is famous for ignoring the most valuable kind of feedback from players, the only reason they are this successful (and rich) is because their games are really original, never pay to win, creative and very well made (also not available on any other platform). I wouldn't buy a Switch if I could play Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing NH or Smash Bros. elsewhere. I can only hope they change this attitude because they make the greatest games in my opinion but their arrogance has cost them before.

Which if they already bought the game then Nintendo already got the money for doing this, but some others may have held off buying it because it was lacking in content. They may buy it now that the game is more complete

Have given the game a lot of crap for feeling very bland and missing tons of content. After this, this gets me back into the game for a good while. Only disappointment is no clue if there's new NPC dialogue and no shop upgrades. Otherwise, this is what we need and can't wait for the 5th!

It's sad to see that New Horizons still doesn't have the villager mechanics in the game. Thats the one thing keeping it from being a good AC game in my eyes.

So i’m in my 20s and was just hospitalized with a stroke. This game got all of us thru covid, and this update is about to drop right when i need something to help me on (hopefully) my road to recovery. something to sink hundreds more hours too and try to forget about my worries again. It’s going to be hard learning to use my arm and leg again and not being able to make music for a while or potentially again but i do look forward to getting lost in this game again and forgetting about all that for a while. love you all. hope everyone makes their islands even greater with all this new content. Thank you Nintendo, you’re life savers.

Until then you can always use the mario pipe decor you can buy at the machine in the town hall. I only just found out that if you place 2 down you can teleport between them and it's saved me so much hassle of constantly running from one side of my island to the other :)

I was shocked by HOW MUCH things were changing. They actually listened to what we wanted, such as the Brewster and adding old characters back. Things we didn't even realised we needed, such as changing your house design. Time to get my switch out. :)

I honestly see why they took so long. They wanted people to take a break and dive back in full force, which is what I will happily do. There's just too many features for this to have been developed within a year... This stuff has to have been in development for a lot longer, or maybe I'm wrong. I'm so glad this update is huge, I honestly ran out of things to do and this feels like a years worth of content to explore. If Nintendo is listening, my dream is to have a "shared island" mode where multiple players can live on the same island. Fantastic! Here are a few things I was hoping to see but didn’t.
1. Bulk crafting. Like for fishing bait for example.
2. Being able to use crafting materials if they’re in storage, without having to take them out.
3. A villager radar or something that shows their positions on the map, in case you need to find one in a hurry.
4. Remote access to storage from anywhere
5. And maybe like a little boat of your own that’s a little faster than swimming, where you can fish or haul things out of the sea from.

I really hope that there's more dialogue and like varied interactions. It's still so frustrating how much pocket camp has in comparison and that game is free. Still very excited for this update though and cannot wait to pick the game back up again.
The issue with this is the delivery of major content besides villager dialouges. I understand your frustration, but I don't think they're really going to fix it. The only enhancement they did has been the house invitations. - It also says "last major update" to the game, which makes me quite sad, since that indicates that the Nook Cranny's will never get an upgrade to a bigger shop again (and also no more villager dialouges), but let's see if Nintendo will surprise us - Hopefully they do :)

They waited and waited then literally put every single feature that all players wanted in one single massive update. They resurrected the game and I think it is much better than ever. I hope the developers will get less and less stubborn with quality of life changes in the future, like crafting multiple fish bait at once or not having to read a whole novel when Gulliver is on your island.
yess, there is so much unnecessary dialogue in this game, I get it that the characters want to explain things to new players, but can't these explanations be a one time thing only??
@@spalman100 I understand that they want the game to be carefree and relaxing, but not everyone who plays the game has that much time to spare, which is not convenient. It's an amazing game, could be much more player-friendly with some basic quality of life changes.
Wait a minute even after all this time you can still only craft one bait at a time? If Nintendo was not Nintendo and any other gaming company we'd have mods day one allowing you to do that... I've not played since June 2020
@@Goremize I believe they are not improving that deliberately, there is no other explanation. In their minds it is meant to be that way, feedback from the fanbase or players doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately Nintendo is famous for ignoring the most valuable kind of feedback from players, the only reason they are this successful (and rich) is because their games are really original, never pay to win, creative and very well made (also not available on any other platform). I wouldn't buy a Switch if I could play Zelda BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing NH or Smash Bros. elsewhere. I can only hope they change this attitude because they make the greatest games in my opinion but their arrogance has cost them before.

Okay, this was worth the wait. Nintendo brought back everything I wanted and added more than I expected. Not even gonna lie, some of the returning settings and characters almost made me cry. Can't wait

This is the most epic animal crossing update ever, it makes this franchise almost perfect.
I can’t get over how many great updates are still being released for this game. So happy it’s still being worked on so long after release.

Which if they already bought the game then Nintendo already got the money for doing this, but some others may have held off buying it because it was lacking in content. They may buy it now that the game is more complete
