World war 1 or 2 would tough to get to work but it would force stealth because combat would be very hard but it could work also the main focus of the game especially during World War II coukd be focusing on one of the many assassination attempts that Hitler survived and when they fail the disillusioned assassin could try to take revenge for something like that
In my opinion tackling WW2 really wouldn't be all that that different from a lot of other stuff the series has done. Assassin's Creed has taken us to some seriously dark points in history. The only difference is that WW2 is in relatively recent memory. But I think it wouldn't be that difficult to pull it off respectfully.
The first thing to do I think would be to rework the lore. In ac lore, churchill, staline, roosevelt and hitler were all members of the templar order, which could be problematic to pull off. I think, the best way to do it would be to not shy away from the grim reality of the time, but not to spend too much time on it in order not to change it into a pity game. The game would be centered around the french resistance to avoid battlefields and too much gun use. The character could be a french jew as it would add some darker scenes more easily in the story. While a bit cliché, the end would likely see you infiltrate hitler's bunker, only to find his body double there (yes, in ac lore hitler wasn't in his bunker), then, youdn'd have to escape, avoiding allies soldiers going in there guns blazing to hunt him down and put an end to the tyrant, leaving him in the dirt he was hiding in to be forgotten
@@gegi4577 Tf no it wouldn't. Sniper Elite has basic ass parkour that isn't free running, there's no social stealth, there's no good melee combat, and it likely wouldn't make you an American soldier. Your comparison makes no sense.
@@northamerica5142 the problem with more modern settings like wwii is guns are a lot better and everywhere. There’s isn’t a lot of places for melee combat when the war is fought with automatic guns and such.
Settings that I would like: Roman Empire Persian Empire Mongol Empire Amsterdam during the VOC Yugoslavia during the Ottoman Empire Spain during reconquista or during the Empire days Austria-Hungarian Empire Something during Count Dracula time period Maya's/Inca's
@Austin Larrimore They are about to do Japan. There was Ghost of Tsushima as well. Think they should be fine with Persia, especially because they made it. Could be something dope with a mission here dedicated to Prince of Persia
I’d be intrigued if they did an AC game set in the modern day in which, instead of just the skills of the assassin from the past bleeding into the modern day protag, their thoughts and memories start to bleed through fully as well. So you have this assassin ancestor experiencing the modern day and figuring out how to use their skills under unfamiliar territory whilst having to stop the templars. Could be an interesting twist.
WW1/WW2 Could actually work if they had you going to the different cities infiltrating and assassinating targets similar to what sniper elite does, and that would also be in line with AC 1 memory structure which if nothing was efficient if used properly
I think a WW2 AC in Berlin or an occupied City like Amsterdam, Oslo or Warsaw (Not Paris because we had this in Unity) would be great. The Assassins could work together with ressistance groups and fight Abstergo working together with the Nazis. Social stealth during a political speach or sneaking in an important building sounds amazing to me. Silenced pistols and hidden blades could fight against rifles with bajonets. And as it’s not 100% clear how Hitler died, maybe he was killed by a hidden blade in his bunker😉
WW2 is also the most justified conflict in recent human memory, it’s so obvious who the bad guys are lol It’s such a gimme and many fans clearly want it I can’t believe they haven’t pulled the trigger yet
@@spaceghost8886 don’t forget that the allies were templars working with hitler to transfer a piece of eden. So no, it would be predictable or heavily alter the canon.
I think it has been established in AC 2 that Hitler died from the hands of the assassins (most likely through an air assassination) after killing his body double and escaping the bunker. In fact, it was literally said that Roosevelt, Churchill, Stalin, and Hitler were all puppets of the Templars. In other words, if you want some peak conspiracy theory bullcrap, play AC 2 and Brotherhood. In fact, what I really want the WW2 story can show is how that conspiracy theory that Churchill had Mussolini killed to avoid exposing some details between the two of them in the public. Considering that he was established as a Templar puppet, Ubisoft can further enhance that story.
Occupied Warsaw or Holland during WW2 would actually be sick, I could see the protagonist as a member of the Resistance not being satisfied with their resistance cell's progress in liberation so they turn to the Assassin's but end up having a personal ideological conflict later on with them , similar to Arno in Unity. Mix in heavy melee stealth combat with a healthy dose of gunplay and you could have a really good AC game, almost similar to a Splinter Cell or a Saboteur.
Eras/Locations I’d be interested in would be: - Mexico during their war of independence from 1810-1821 - Medieval Scotland/England - The Mali Empire of Africa - The Mongolian Empires - Ancient India - Personally I wouldn’t hate WW1 - During French King Louis XIII’s rule (prime time for musketeers) - The Mexican/American war of 1848 - The Aztec or Incan Empires - Possibly America’s Great Depression at the end of the 1920s (although that might be a little too “modern” for the franchise) - Maaaybe the American Civil War…? I’d settle for the Battle of New Orleans… I wouldn’t even mind the founding of “New South Wales” when the British first claimed Australia in 1770. A “new” continent could lead to a power grab between the Assassins and the Templars. There could even be a Piece of Eden located in the Outback, the Rainforest, or the Australian Alps.
If you had an AC game during the Mongolian Empire, it would end up being set in China, so at that point you might aswell just call it a Chinese AC game (which they are already working on). There's nothing really you could do for the Mali Empire, people vastly overhype and overtalk what in reality was little more than a slaver empire with sparse urban centres that weren't too big. The game would end up being very similar to Origins in terms of setting.
That's actually kinda cool but I'd argue we kind of got that with the ac odyssey Fate of Atlantis DLC. And while isu are a part of assassin's creed it's got nothing to do with THE assassin's creed itself
@@xdrastig_4207Isu appeared in AC2 already, AC1 wasn't that bad. Ezio garbage trilogy killed any potential series had with its ancient aliens nonsence.
@@qltcn isu were already a thing in ac1 smh, ac3 ending is what took the series to an illogical route and now isu are minibosses with special powers instead of technologies
I think that the Darcy Clarkson storyline in Watch Dogs Legion showed that the assassin mechanics can work in a modern setting, even when the bad guys have guns.
Something really cool about Brotherhood, Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla was being able to visit the same location within the historical Animus simulation and the real world inhabited by the modern day characters. Revisiting the Colosseum but in 2012 was neat and seeing Monteriggioni with modern day cars and power boxes felt like seeing a home changed just enough to be not quite home anymore. Making this a bigger feature has potential, using the Animus to scope out locations of interest in the present day like a sort of treasure hunt, a bit Dan Brown and playing more into historical mystery/conspiracy. This could be how to do a game with more modern day focus without taking from the historical aspect entirely.
One setting I actually wanted for some time is an AC game set during the Russian Revolution. I know that setting was technically covered by the Chronicles series, that was set after the revolution and showing the consequences - I'd like a mainline AC game that spans the duration of the whole revolution similar to AC3 or Unity. The only potential drawback of that setting is that it would be set directly after WW1, so guns have gained prominence and it would be a challenge to craft that setting without guns breaking the traditional gameplay loop.
Given how Ubisoft butchered Marx and what I’ve heard about the lore of the Russian revolution and ac where basically Lenin and Trotsky are assassins and Stalin is a Templar
@@johnconnor8206 because he originally liked Stalin. But in his last years Lenin criticized stalins rude manners, ambition and politics, his excessive power and suggested that Stalin should be removed from the position of general secretary
I think the only way for a Wild West to work is if they did something like black flag where instead of a ship you have some kind of caravan type thing, that way you can travel from town to town faster without having to go through nothing landscape
To be fair, Syndicate had a lot of guns. But there is a difference between a Derringer and an MP40. So I can see what you mean. Although I'd love a WW2 AC. Being a resistance member or an undercover German double agent. But it's hard to imagine an AC where literally everyone is rocking an automatic weapon.
You could make a Western AC, you'd just have to pick the right cities. San Francisco and New Orleans are the best options. So youve got two major urban environments and a large wilderness map connecting them. Sounds like an old AC.
Fully agree, could also bring back a lot of the parkouring in the trees that we had in 3 and Blackflag, allowing the wilderness area to be traversed in a stealthy manner like the cities
@@Joshua-fi4jiRDR2 is essentially a spaghetti western/cowboy drama. It would be pretty hard to not make a game set in the wild west without similarities like outlaws, pinkertons, and evil rich guys.
@@DotKom01 Exactly. Plus fans stated that AC: Shadows being set in Feudal Japan despite Ghost of Tsushima proves that Ubisoft is willing to do time-periods that other games have done. So I can see Ubisoft be willing to do a AC game set in the Wild West despite RDR2 being out for a couple of years.
WW1 and WW2 are great time periods to tackle, for WW1, there are lots of stories and little games with this theme, as well as lots of potential. If it did exist, you could sneak through twins, wreckage’s, sneak through battles or go straight through them and more. The game could be centered around either Belgium or France, since that is where the war mainly took place in. And WW2, just search up assassin’s creed WW2, it’s clear a good chunk of people want it.
For WW1 I agree that the early stages of the war like the German invasion Belgium would make a great setting. As for the issue with automatic weapons, that just creates more incentive for stealth and situation control with iconic tools like the berserker darts and smoke bombs. We even see how WW1 could be handled in the Syndicate rift missions following Jacob’s descendent, as well as WW2 with Unity’s (which in my opinion was more enjoyable than Syndicate’s, although it relied more on spectacle). I also think WW1 could be a good opportunity to focus back into the shades of grey AC used to have in entries like AC1, AC3, and of course Rogue by having the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand being performed by the Brotherhood, meaning that The Great War was indirectly caused by the Assassins. Another direction that could be taken with an AC game set during WW1 is following Nikolai Orelov and the assassination of Rasputin from the comics.
Ubisoft is really wasting the opportunity to do an AC title based on the Mexican Revolution that's such a good idea and a lot happened in that time, it even affects us mexicans to this day, they could even use a protagonist similar to how they used Ezio for the Renaissance in Italy, they could even follow the steps of what they already know how to do... like with Connor and Edward or Ezio and Altair and first establish a protagonist in the Mexican Independence, using characters like Hidalgo, Morelos and Josefa Ortíz de Dominguez, they could also explore events like The Battle of Puebla (5 de Mayo and make North Americans stop being confused... May 5th is not our independence day lol) all the way to our protagonist in The Mexican Revolution era, but ig Ubisoft isn't ready to do anything that isn't a cash grab, Mexico has such a good history for a game like Assassin's Creed whom is in need of a fresh turn, Europe is too used now and North America is a cliché, Mexico is also a country with a culture which is not well known and which is quite misunderstood, specially by our neighbors lol, which is ironic, Assassin's Creed used to be a game where you could play but also learn and get familiar with a culture and the characters around it, not just a "era simulator" and I think Mexico is the best candidate out of all the eras that already exist in AC (China, Japan, Egypt, Italy, Constantinople, USA, Greece, etc)
Do I need to mention that corruption in Mexico can VERY easily be used as a way of saying the Templars won the battle in Mexico? And we could have a Desmond 2.0 in the modern era México in México City 100 years in the future (2023) and most cartels would actually be Templars which you have the task to take them all down as the Assassin protagonist, politics and press would be so BRILLIANT because Templars would make sure Assassins are looked at as the bad guys and make people think assassins are the "true cartels" dude... the potential for the narrative is there... I don't even know what Ubisoft is doing
Most people know very little about history. As a result, you keep seeing people requesting settings such as the ones mentioned in the video because it is all they know. Aside from those, the most requested settings were Egypt, Vikings and Japan, other stuff people who do not know much about history would still know. Two of them are now done and a third is on the way. After that is done, it is much better if Ubisoft instead started doing what they did with AC2: Settings which people did not even know they wanted to see before they did.
I would really like to see a current day ac because I think it would be a nice story if the "real" protagonist like Desmond would have a father who is an assassin and the protagonist finds out and his das tells him he’s going to teach him about the assassins. Sadly the das passes away during a fight. So he searches for Rebecca and the other dude (forgot his name) and they help him to relive the time of his dad. I would love to see his father in the 90s or something.
well it is confirmed last i checked desmond has a son so he could be are protagonist it tie us back to the first 3 games giving us a little nostalgia of the older games
On the stone age setting, there's something I'd like to point out. Canonically, the first humans were created by the Isu. Adam and Eve, along with some other humans, escaped their captors/creators in the midst of the destruction caused by the meteor that struck the earth and wiped out the Isu and most of the humans. My point in saying this is that an AC game set in that time period wouldn't be IRL historically accurate to begin with, and the people in that time period would almost certainly have language of some form more sophisticated than grunting and pointing
I think a modern day setting as a sequel for basim would be great especially with watch dogs combat mechanics mixed with ac black flag hand to hand combat
I think a WW2 AC game could work if they told a resistance story, the assassin could be part of the French Resistance or the Italian Partigiani. Also, on the ethics side of things, the World Wars weren't all that different from other time periods that were alredy tackled by Ubisoft, the American and French Revolutions also killed a lot of people.
I already consider far cry primal as canon in assassins creed. its not exactly an assassins creed game at all, but takaar definately has isu dna. he has eagle vision ffs. As a side note, I always thought it would be cool to have a spinoff AC series where they could go into these unfitting settings and have it be canon but not make everyone angry. like I wish they did with origins-Valhalla.
I think a WW1/2 setting could work mainly in places like London, Paris, and Berlin the focus on espionage would be perfect and there could be certain missions where you sneak on to a battlefield to take out targets the missions in Syndicate where you play in WW1 London definitely showed potential
I've never liked the idea of modern day Assassin's Creed. Modern surveillance would make the level of stealth we have currently impossible, there's too much high tech stuff that would make the Assassin's gadgets worthless, body armor would make their weapons useless or much less effective, the number and quality of guns in the modern world would make open combat impossible, buildings are much smoother and harder to climb unless you're in a city with lots of old buildings or just a really dense and vertical city, and on top of that you obviously wouldn't have the memory/time travel shit going on. So the level of change needed to make an AC game work in modern day would make it no longer an AC game. Basically you get Mirror's Edge with the unique visuals replaced by boring realistic visuals or a Watch Dogs ripoff. Neither of which are Assassin's Creed.
I just want a origins sequel set in rome I just want to see what happens to bayek and aya after origins they already showed a part of rome there so why not make it happen in Rome
I’d like to see more of the modern standpoint between the two, first hand, instead of the small snippets of between the histories, and why the assassins have been so backed into the shadows while the templars are in high places, and willing to take things to high levels.
IMO I don’t think there’s a single time period that wouldn’t work for a AC game as long as the game is made with care and effort. If you look at some of the least liked AC games like AC3 or Odyssey or even Valhalla. It’s not the time period that you don’t like it’s the boring or non inspiring gameplay. Then if the problem isn’t gameplay it’s the story being terrible. I think even a modern day game would work, IF IT WAS PROPERLY HANDLED. Some people might not remember this with recency bias but before AC Origins nobody wanted Egypt as a location bc it would be filled with loads of sand and not very many building to climb and therefore the parkour would be ass. Then we were all pleasantly surprised by how amazing the time period was due to the game being properly cared for with detail and effort pumped everywhere.
now, a time period they really really SHOULD go for is 17th century Zaporozhian host, during Khmelnytsky uprising against Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. it's a shame Ubisoft, even though having TWO studios in Ukraine and a studio in Poland, haven't gotten their attention on this great historical event. edit: it also has a great potential for lore, since the conflict between Poles and Ukrainians was seriously based on religion, which plays a big role in the AC franchise
Personally the only way I could see a modern assassins creed game done (without Desmond) is a game where you play in both the modern version of the city and the animus past simulation. Extra points if it’s somewhere currently dilapidated and ruined, showing the beautiful contrast between the ancient world and the modern ruins nearly unrecognizable as time moved on. It’d also be an interesting way to tie in the bleeding effect, maybe in eagle vision you would see the ruins repaired yet see through as people go about a day from thousands of years ago.
I think the wild west and ww2 settings could work under certain conditions. For the wild west, it would basically work as a larger scale ac 3, with a few llarge cities in the east coast, and then replacing the frontier by a wild west setting. I'm not american, so you'll have to forgive me if I mess up your history a bit, but the story woumd follow the gold rush and the advancements of the train towards the west. The character would initially be a bounty hunter working for the sheriff of some small town in the west. One day, he would be tasked with killing 6 criminals, members of a local gang, the eagle gang (name's up for more work). He would hunt them down and kill them, he identifies them as all of them wear an eagle skull necklace, one of them would fall in the durt, leaving behind the assassins' symbol. After hunting them down, he would ask about the strange symbol he saw, making the sheriff throw him in jail. While there, he would be visited by a native american wearing an assassin's outfit. He would be infirmed that the gang was working for the assassins, and that they were innocent. To atone for his crime, the bounty hunter would become an assassin, working to uncover the conspiracy created by the templars in the east and to free the west from their influence. They would've caused the gold rush to look for isu artifacts hidden in the west, and the protagonist would be tasked with retrieving the artifacts and killing the templars. To justify using stealth, I would allow the player to play as a normal gunslinger (after all, many games in the franchise already have guns / bows) however, the difficulty would be extra hard since guns make a lot of noise, so you'd rapidly end up facing small armies. You'd be given a bow and a hidden blade by the natives, an arsenal that would be completed with smoke bombs, poison / berserk darts and hidden gun (I believe the name of those small guns is a derringer, basically the small gun that the doctor pulls out in django unchained) given by the east coast brotherhood. Taken from liberation, you'd also have areas you can't access fully equiped, so you could only use your hidden blade, hidden gun and tools in these areas. For the ww2, I think the main idea is to avoid going to the battlefields (which is why a ww1 game wouldn't really work since trenches / no man's lands aren't the best place for an assassin). So, I would make it about the french resistance and their efforts to free their country from the invaders. Same as the wild west setting, you could do it only as a gunslinger, however, there would be a high likelihood of dying doing so. Especially since ammo would be very limited so you couldn't just waste all your ammo and hope you'll be fine. Except for stone age, I believe that every setting mentioned in this video could at least work as a condensed, 2 to 3 hours experience in ac infinity if they choose to do this kind of micro games
Most people advocate for a WW1/WW2 AC game, but I believe that an interwar period game could also be an interesting setting. There are multiple ways in which the gun problem could be solved, a grim aesthetic that shows how the second war was a consequence of the first one (and other stuff of course) would also be great. It would also be nice if they add some elements of Russian revolution that tie to some of the things that took place in The chain or The fall. Other periods that would be great to explore are: -The Southamerican independences (and i emphasize this as a History student) -Hatian revolution -Hispanic-Azteca war -Indian independence -Altough it would be really complicated, there are a lot of russian history moments that would be great. A game about the russian revolution that culminates in the Stalin takeover could create a good story about the radicalization of ideals. -Sakoku in Japan -revisiting american history in the XIX century would be great, specially around the topic of the second slavery or the civil war. It would be really interesting to see how that period affected both the Templar order and the Assassins as well. And the theme would be the way in which both the north and the south practiced various forms of racist influence, the assassins would not only be dealing with a war against templars, but also a war against ideals and traditions.
You’ll blow up very very soon mark my words you make quality content CANT wait until you hit 100k + followers and I can say that I’ve been watching you since day one!!
haha appreciate that, we shall see i guess, I won't do what I did to my previous channel and abandon it. I won't do that here, I enjoy making videos on this channel
This isnt a bad time period but I think a good one, in response to the comment at the beginning; An aboriginal Australia would work, if it was of course the penal colony, the Aboriginals would be the Assassins like the Mayans were & the British establish this penal colony to mine for the Isu vault. I'd also love to see something American, as one, idk what works but like Brazil-Portugal Split, US-Mexican War, Paraguay-Brazil War, or something before RDR2.
Best Periods for me Ivan The Terribile's Russia Roman Civil War between Marius and Silla (or during the Gracchus Era, a very turbulent time too) Rise of Islam in 7th Century
Honestly. While I have been giving a lot of thought on how to do a game during both World Wars. I just don't know how it could be done. It would be interesting to see how they could integrate in certain battles and operations such as Overlord, Market Garden, Battle of Stalingad, Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
I think a Cold War era Assassins Creed game would be cool in it of itself and we technically already seen what Ubisoft can do with guns in the Watchdogs assassin creed DLC so I think it would be interesting. One timeframe in particular that I would like to visit is anything Russian or asian inspired even though the one after AC mirage is going to be a Japan edo era type game. Another very interesting timeframe would be the era of the Mongrel era in which Genghis Khan was in rule now that is a great idea in my opinion. Another would be the Adam and Eve story line that I'd like to visit being trained as the first assassin. Now ik this isn't happening since Ubisoft has been dropping the ball these last couple of years but I hope Mirage brings us back to the good ol days.
The conquer of Sud America by spanish and portuguese Empire would be an amazing setting, the story would fit perfectly with the lore since hipotetical, you are a native trying to stop the templar invaders, the fight of the "weak" against the power and it could be interesting hiding and running through trees of the amazon forest and ancient pyramids, connected with the ISU lore for exemple...its also true that this time period has already been touched by Ezio's AC games but in Sud America we could have a complete different set of hidden blades skills, armors, guns, and weapons ecc...
To be fair to a Wild West setting, just keep in mind that Syndicate was set around the same time as the Wild West (Victorian London) and would probably feature the same amount of gun play. Also, they could make up for the lack of big man-made architecture to climb on by instead focusing on natural landmarks such as the Grand Canyon and Arches National Park (similar to what they did in AC3)
I just want to say that when talking about the stone age people just refer to people still living an hunter-gatherer life while from the start of the neolithic era most of the population already lived a sedentary life in the fertile crescent but also in other places of the world.. an assassin's creed in the neolithic is something that could really be considered and would even work well because of the presence of many big settlements as far back as 7000 BCE. Some examples would be catalhuyuk in 7000 BCE or Eridu in 5000 BCE, these two cities probably had from 10000 to 20000 or more inhabitants during the neolithic.. also remember that people stopped living in huts from like 9000 BCE or even before so most of these proto cities would be kind of similar to the typical egyptian towns we have seen in Origins.. the stone age is an interesting period and I would say to keep an eye on it and not overlook it for any reason. Just do a bit of research on it and you'll be amazed seeing how advanced our ancestors where even more than 10000 years ago (I'm currently writing a pitch for an assassin's creed game set during the natufian period so in the period that caused the shift towards agricolture and society, probably will do nothing about it but if I manage to become a game dev I'll consider making a fan game in this time period)
It honestly depends on what aspect of WW2 you’d be tackling. Obviously it wouldn’t work in a battlefield setting however an Assassin’s Creed game that focused on Resistance fighters, Spies, or the Holocaust could provide an interesting setting.
@@alexanderk7353 Yeah but it was still a historical event that caused the suffering of millions for hundreds of years. I never thought of it as a competition for “what’s the worst event in human history” Besides there’s a ton of fictional stories that take place during the Holocaust that go outside the box like Inglorious Basterds.
@@tallerwarrior1256 In general touching such subjects needs a lot of care, especially if they're essential to the story. Idk if that's the case about slavery but for the Holocaust it would be the main plot. It could easily go wrong
Similar to the stone age setting, I think a game set at the start/ end of the bronze age or even in ancient sumeria would be really cool. Sumeria could show the real start of the conflict between the templars and assassins, in line with the literal birth of civilisation, where the character could traverse the ancient near east, possibly even seeing and settling in the ruins of the first civilisation. Alternatively, at the end of the bronze age, the series could explore northern Europe and the conflicts between proto-civilisations, small villages and tribes battling over trade routes, with the templar v assassin conflict being inserted through these ancient trading networks - customisation would also be huge, weapons and armour coming from all over Europe and the ancient near east providing a wide range of diversity. this is personally my favourite, as we could experience mercenaries from ancient civilisations as well as the cultural blends that stem from (at the time) global trade, and could provide a compelling narrative through intertribal conflict, culminating in Europe's first recorded battle (Battle of Tollense Valley). maybe that is too much for the scope of an ac game but it is a really unrepresented area of history in media and I think an ac game, if done well, would be able to provide an unforgettable and unique experience.
I think adding an fps mode and turning AC into an immersive sim/social stealth hybrid can be used to pull the WW1/WW2 setting off. Like make all the weapons install or almost instakill, add dialog options, make up and and camouflage options, add classical stealth to social stealth, combine open city and open parkour levels with immersive sim style levels. I know it's almost impossible to pull off, because designing for fps and tps perspectives is different, but I really think that this should be the direction, instead of trying to be a witcher clone or a gta clone.
Honestly, I could see AC working in WW1. Trenches resulted in CQC and guns weren't super advanced yet. It could also be neat to actually see the assassins adapt and overcome to this new kind of situation
That’d be sick. Imagine if the main gimmick of the game (like AC4’s pirate ships) would be infiltrating through enemy trenches, which would include sneaking through no-man’s land as you attempt to pass through the incoming fire, gas, and mortars. The protagonist with a trench coat, assassin hood and some sort of gas mask feature would be kind of cool as well, but I just hope concepts like that wouldn’t stray too far from the usual AC games, at least in the eyes of the older fans
Honestly both World Wars could work for a setting. Just keep the main character off the front lines of the war, and the issue is solved really. Especially if they did something with the French Resistance during World War II.
Wild West and Stone Age would need a big overhaul on tree climbing/parkour, if that could be done, then it could be totally worth it. Plus rock climbing. Assassin contracts against enemy tribes & animals would be great.
I think the Wild West or the world wars would be great for an assassins creed movie or even the series. It wouldn’t work for a game cause the gameplay is supposed to be mostly melee, but I think those settings would be great for a tv series. If they made the tv series set in the Wild West, they wouldn’t have to worry about parkour because they could just write in epic parkour scenes in the series as opposed to a game where they have to implement parkour things like ramps or poles everywhere (which would be difficult for the Wild West)
I want modern days to be like AC Brotherhood/AC3, short section to keep us engage with the modern timeline, it so bizzare how they do nothing with present anymore yet there SO.MUCH. media/comic like Damn Juno, Cross history, and much more With stone age, there might be more isu stuff around since they came before everything
For everyone who would like to play AC like game in WW2 Paris, just go get The Saboteur, a hidden gem, very similar to AC + shooting guns + driving cars and a cool from black and white to colored mechanic. (I was a bit suprised not to hear about it in the video.)
maybe because The saboteur is more than just a AC copy as it incorporates elements from franchises like GTA (wanted system),Mafia/Mafia II (visuals and in Mafia II´s case even the time period),Hitman (disguises) and Just Cause (enemy property destruction, altho fans of the studio redirected me to studio´s own franchise,Mercenaries,on this one) with this blend especially back in the day seen as a knock-off thing
Idk about far future tbh because you can have creative freedom because it simply hasn’t happened yet. A cyberpunk apocalyptic future assassins creed game would be awesome. Instead of a simple grappling hook that really hurt syndicate in my opinion they could use a gritty looking exoskeleton in order to help with parkour which means larger and more complicated building that we can parkour through. Syndicate couldn’t do that because a grappling hook is more plausible obviously. In terms of guns maybe humanity got rid of guns in the far future because they deemed them not necessary and barbaric. Also a gritty cyberpunk type of future artwork and setting would look awesome for the robes.
Honestly I just want to see a proper origin for the Templars/Order of the Ancients which could be set in something like Carthage during the Punic Wars or Ancient Rome could work as well.
@@Even_N.D. Yeah, but the order of the ancients was there long before that, he ment that he would like to see the origin of the first templar organisation, the order of the ancients was just a few stages before the templars.
I think a game which tells a bunch of short stories would be great, it would need to go back to the routes of limited weapon choice like in the early games where you might have had a few classes (or in the terms of black flag and rouge, 1 weapon) just so you don't feel like you are restarting for every story. Have a bunch of small open world hubs with a few missions in, maybe a few collectables and puzzles. Ultimately it would allow us to visit periods like the wild west or the world wars where we can have a bit of fun with out needing to worry about map size. It could also allow us to visit some of our favourite characters. Play as a younger Shay in the brother hood or an older Shay later in life doing his templar work. Play as Edward back home in England. Play as Darius carrying out his famous assassination. Hell, could do a new game + where you can ply as any character in any Mission.
Actually I have to say that I would love a modern day AC game. It would be cool to see more about how the assassins operate and fight in the modern day. We've seen glimpses so far but it would be cool to have that be the primary location, especially if it's set in a place in the real world that we haven't explored much or is lessor known in even today's times.
I think a World War One setting might be far more plausible as a setting if it was done along the lines of Lydia Fryes missions in Syndicate. Going around taking out Templars who are selling out Blightly to the Hun and so on with more missions involving Churchy, Ohhhhh Yes! Dust off the entire Syndicate London map, expand it a bit further so we can visit places like Baker Street and get more of a feel of the War taking hold as the timeline progresses. It could even feature Paris type missions similar to what Arno went through in Unity to show off the Eiffel Tower, just in WW1 before trench warfare took hold. Actually, you could still have the duel protagonists like in Syndicate, but with one set in London and the other involved in the trenches, carrying out wet work on Templar infiltrators trying to prevent Triple Entrant success and figuring out ways to access the enemy trenches to do the same over there. In fact there could be a very risky type of mission of trying to contact Assassins who are part of the German army, themselves in a very dangerous position as they have to take out Templars inside their own trenches who are trying to progress the war, and even having to sabotage their own side to prevent progression. Not to mention the odds that the Assassins might very well be at odds with one another because of their own respective loyalties to their own countries. It does sound good, but as you pointed out, it's going to be a very tricky tightrope to walk, not just in gameplay terms but to be as respectful as possible for what is still one of the most horrendous events in history. As for the present day, that might work if they treated that in a similar way to Desmond's present-day sections in the first five games, with someone still using the animus to find secrets in the past version of their location, then leaving the animus to find the secrets in the present day version of the map. This might be a good way to recycle the Watch Dogs 3 and Syndicate versions of London to show off the difference between old London town and what it's like today. Even give the Fryes some cameos, as I would love to see them make another appearance. Actually I'd love to see them have another game all to themselves where they travel up to Glasgow to clean out the Templars in there. It would be a broadly similar looking enough setting but just given the chance to have a better written story for them. I've always had a soft spot for these two, and despite Syndicates flaws, it was the last main game in the franchise I really enjoyed in all regards. Especially controls, I've hate the control layouts for the RPG era games. As for the future, well it would depend on how far into the future and how advanced the technology would be. If everyone has lasers as an option, what would be the point of the hidden blade when you can have a hidden laser instead? It would also depend on what kind of "future" setting it might take. Star Trek, Bladerunner, both versions of Dune, Babylon 5 and Star Wars (technically the past, but what the heck) are all very different beasts in tone, manner, politics and technology. Would this mean using the animus to look at the genetic memories of aliens? That might just make the franchise jump the Space Shark! But it could still play out as simply being the "present day" setting with the animus going to a different, earlier period.
Wild West: Outlaws, limited stealth, no parkour Stone age: No assassin brotherhood and Templar order had been formed since they are cavemen WW1/WW2: Rogue Soldier's, Spy work, HitIer Assassination Modern Day: Bring back Desmond. Far future: Stop. No. Do not even try.
Only 2 i agree with are stone age and far future, for obvyous reasons, wild west and world wars are absolutely doable if executed properly, ww2 being my dream setting, heavily focused on stealth and ocasional sniping with rifle. Present day could be also great, again, if executed properly
@@ImThAtGuY90 "Dark Ages" was basically just a late medieval (first guy who used it lived in the 14th century) and renaissance propaganda term to depict themselves as more civilized than some imagined dark past and was later adopted by researchers to mostly refer to the lack of written sources in the early medieval age. Today it is seen as an outdated misnomer. And AC Valhalla takes place in the middle ages and AC 2 can also be seen as late medieval depending on the transition date you use. I know a lot of Americans like to let the medieval age end in the 1450s because of the fall of constantinople, but that's more a military-history period end. The more common generic end date is 1500. Ezio was born in 1459 and the second DLC ends in 1497. Although all of the armor and most of the clothing in the game is purely fantasy.
What would be very interesting if AC took place in the final years of the Weimar Republic, where you have your sword, a pistol and a sniper rifle, basically having a UNITY arsenal but maybe more limited. Cities like Dortmund, Berlin or Munich would be interesting to see
I still think we can make a viable AC game set in World War 1 or 2 it doesn't have to focus on the Military aspect of the war, but instead it could shed a light on the civilian side of it like in the movie The Pianist. There is also a game that came close to that concept it's called " The Saboteur ".
No Offense, but in my opinion Ubisoft could probably make an AC game set in WW1, if its executed properly. Maybe they could take it to other locations like the Middle East or France and Russia . Hand to hand combat and melee stealth can work as well (maybe have less gunfights) along with infiltrating Axis forces that secretly have Templars.
I strongly disagree with the World Wars. Just think of the potential of WW1 Russia or any occupied city/country in WW2 (my pick would be France because people actually resisted and fought a lot)...
An Australian game would be pretty cool, but probably only if they use a system of travel similar to Ac1 and 2. Exploring cities like Sydney, Melbourne and depending on the time period Ballarat and other gold rush cities would be so cool to me.
I've thought the same about farcry have it set in the outback where the world is starting to go down hill you could have people who have gone crazy and extremist groups who've banded together you could explore the deserts and coastlines have small Australian coastal towns and outback towns aswell, you could probably throw in a ted bundy reference or two aswell
I think WW1 and WW2 and work. In AC Syndicate there was a part in which you could travel to the future during WW1 and play as an assassin that has to snuff out German spies in London. It was pretty cool and showed that the technology of this era you could do interesting stuff like distract enemies with light bulbs that went out. I would like to see a game set in WW2 in which you work as a resistance agent in occupy territories, far from the frontlines.
The Wild West does sound good in concept, but in execution, I doubt it would be anything similar to Assassin's Creed. The Stone Age I feel would be quite disappointing, plus I doubt anything relating to the Assassins/Hidden Ones is even around at this time, not to mention the opposite factions. WW1/WW2 I think could work if it was set in that espionage theme, I also think Ubisoft would be respectful if they handled something like this, I mean, no, really complains about Call of Duty.... (Maybe Vanguard since it basically allowed you to make an AK-47 in WW2) I you could restrict the use of a gun the way Unity and Syndicate did it. A current day Assassin's Creed I think could work..... if it wasn't an open world game, maybe a bit like how Splinter Cell Blacklist allowed you to choose your missions. The Far Future I agree with as it does sound interesting and could work as a spin-off, but I also have an alternative to this, instead of the far future, why not the far past and rather than human history, we go further into an Isu world, maybe the last days before that work is wiped out. Of course, I doubt we'd get these ideas anyway as Ubisoft seems to be staying to the path of Odyessy and Valhalla, but we may get a few spin offs like Mirage that give us that old Assassin's Creed feeling.
I disagree with the stone era, remember, this is the ac universe , the stone era would be a world full of abandoned ISU cities, also humans could still be in war with the remaining ISU people
I don't think a Wild West Assassin's Creed is a bad idea, I always thought the idea of a freed slave being trained by descendants of Connor Kenway and then facing Shay's family of Assassin Hunters would be really cool. Gadgets like a hidden blade that converts into a revolver (a bit like Schultz's gun in Django Unchained) and a lasso for parkour assistance would work quite well. In terms of comparisons to RDR, Ubisoft just announced Shadows, and the gameplay is literaly Ghost of Tsushima, which just re-released on PC. So I don't think Ubisoft really care anymore. The only problem would be the very open locations, like you mentioned, and I personally think that setting it in a singular city like Boston or New York could fix this, with some smaller areas in the surrounding frontier. But the number of historical figures and the fact the bounty hunting was so popular in that period makes it a very good time period in my opinion.
I really like the idea of an Assassin's Creed WWI/WWII game. Doing espionage missions during eother era would be really cool, and could be really unique. I wouldn't be too worried about the whole respect thing, since plenty of games have covered these eras before in a respecful manner.
i disagree. ww2 can be done imo and i think its one of the more interesting philosophical eras. i agree on stone age tho and wild west but i do think far future is possible if you focus on the other key values of ac. i don't see traveling back in time the most important IMO its more the historical recreations and the stealth. i can see a historical recreation of the us or france but in the far future being a way to have history and future mix together and then have the city or cities be somewhat like the favelas or what night cities japan town with a lot of parkour possibilities and a lot of assassination opportunities. maybe add some futuristic melee weapons and stealth knives or something. i don't think having guns ruins it tho because eventually ac needs a reinventing and i think guns can fit well in that look at the saboteur for example or some stealth gun games.
I would say ww1 is the best if they were to make one as it is doable on the time period with machineries not as advanced as ww2 so they can still implement the close quarter combat & have a revolver with limited bullets on the side imo. As interesting as it is to have a game be in ww2, it would definitely end up having people go guns blazing rather than having people sneaking through bunkers & camp bases to assassinate a target tho.
they can just make it like the arkham games where it is still possible to do actual combat in predator sections plus the 3rd person shooter gameplay shouldn't be a main focus nor a side thing either unless if ubisoft really wants to add it then make the assassin have a sniper like the Russian Assassin from AC chronicles or if they REALLY want to add gunplay with machine guns then it should be like Watch Dogs 1 since WD1 has very complex gameplay mechanics in which ubisoft would have to make it so that staying and shooting behind cover would make the A.I become aggressive like how 'Fear 1' utilised so that the game would incentives you to perform takedowns on enemies like WD1 and Fear but also being strategic so it would make it more complex and challenging or you can the Arkham style route witg the gameplay
I think WW1/2 could be an incredible setting. They'd just have to focus more on stealth, and make social stealth much more robust. They would also have to keep the assassin away from the battles. Have it set in Berlin Germany during Nazi occupation, and have a focus on investigating as a spy to find out where your target's gonna be, who he/she is, and the best time to assassinate them. If they dropped the RPG elements, it could be a really creative and fun game
Best time periods/locations for me : Aztec empire Istanbul during the reign of Abdulhamid II ,(cuz of the revolutions and the mafia tryna give opium in the streets , my imagination runs wild thinking how we stop both ) Ww2 (this cud be made amazingly) And my favourite would be playing as an alp during the time of osman I's father ertugrul , if done right it would be valhalla 10x better
I actually would love to see a location seen in previous AC games, only in a different time period. Many have forgotten that Assassin's Creed is about historical intrigue, as well as the stabby stabby freerunning. -New Orleans, 1860. Jean Marchand, an assassin operating out of the Grandpré warehouse in new Orleans. The very same hideout used by Aveline de Grandpré nearly 100 years before. New Orleans has grown far beyond the wooden pallisade seen in AC Liberation, sprawling all the way to Lake Ponchetrain. Jean is an assassin, but is fighting for the CSA. It is a struggle beyond his duties as a freedom-loving assassin, and his expectations as a CSA officer. -Egypt, 1300 BC. During a sidemission in AC Origins, Bayek stumbles across the cult of Serket. These ritualistic murderers operate out of ancient ruins, where it's sigil has already adorned it's walls for centuries. In ancient times, the priests of Ptah were hot on their heels. Some scrolls in AC origins only reveal a fraction of what went down. It would be interesting to explore some classical *ancient* egypt. Either as a priest of Ptah, or a medieval/byzantine like Cakr protagonist who relives those ancient egyptian memories. -Rome, 44BC. It is done. Caesar is dead... But the shitstorm is about to unleash. Brutus, Cassio, and Amunet will suffer the consequence of their actions. What follows is a civil war between the Senate, Mark Anthony, and the Hidden Ones caught inbetween.
Time piriods i want an assassin Creed game in 80 years war Dutch Revolution Greek war of independence greek Revolution First crusade 1 play as an templar The regonquista Modern day Fal of Constantinople play as an Turkish Assassin
Ancient Israel with the Sicarii as the Hidden Ones amidst The Great Jewish Revolt is my dream setting! As an Arizona resident, I would love a wild west setting.....seeing AC's take on Tombstone would be awesome! A game set during the Civil War would be cool. The Assassins could meet Lincoln!
I think ww1/ww2 games would be perfect, they don't need to make them a 3rd person shooter. What they can do is double down on the stealth mechanics, essentially the protagonist wouldn't be a soldier but an assassin behind the scenes who assassinates big leaders that are not at the battlefield. Sure you can make some battle in the trenches scenes but I think they could make an interesting game just by making the protagonist go to those high level parties, staging coups, liberating concentration camps, being stealthy af like a spy of some sort. That would be the most interesting take on an assassin's creed game and an amazing take on ww1 and ww2 which we don't see often portrayed in video games, cuz for the most part war games are, 95% of the time, first person shooters.
Its like he said, it’d revert back to a hitman type. What would be more interesting to me is ww1 era specifically, just because the tech isnt all there
A setting I would like to see is in India. It can be set in the BC period, like when the Aryans took over the Dravidians or during the time of Ashoka. Or it can be in colonial India, maybe during the Sepoy mutiny. Overall, I want to see an AC game during any period when Europeans were colonizing Asia.
I would love to see a game set in Ancient Rome, but the only problems is what era? We already partly got Julius Caesar in Orgins, so who next? Augustus? Caligula? Nero? The Year Of Four Emperors? Or maybe during the reign of Constantine? This is probably why the devs haven’t attempted a proper ancient Roman game yet, since it’s hard to pinpoint an era to set the game in.
Alright so in order: 1. I do agree, The Wild West would be kinda shit for a setting, but American Civil War era would be dope, visiting Charlottesville, setting Atlanta ablaze, disrupting military convoys, hell even attempting to save Lincoln from an assassin gone rogue in John Wilkes Booth, the possibilities are amazing for that story. 2. 100% agree, stone age would be shit. That being said seeing as we've already gotten Egypt, and Greece, we need to round out the empire trifecta with Rome, and I see no greater time frame than from, possibly, the "assassination" of Tiberius, the 3+ years of Caligula's reign of terror followed by his subsequent assassination, the installation of Claudius, his "murder" by Agrippina the Younger, and ending with the reign and "assassination" of Nero, by our protagonist. Sure this period I've mapped out covers about 30 years, but hell, ACII covers 20 years of Ezio's career as an assassin, so why not? 3. Ya'll are dead wrong when it comes to either WWI or WWII, just because it has more modernized tech doesn't mean you can't be an assassin, think enemy camp infiltration, munition sabotage, and of course targeted assassinations against characters like Archduke Ferdinand or Benito Mussolini, again the possibilities are limitless with a time period like that, I'd liken it less to Hitman, and more to Rockstar's The Saboteur. Not to mention, you could quite possibly just be playing Christopher Lee, I mean, the man was quite literally a nazi hunter, not some common soldier, but a person designated to hunt nazis... that's assassin's creed in a nutshell. 4. Completely agree with both modern day and far future AC titles, the most modern I'd go is WWII, maybe Cold War but even that's waaaaaaay to modern.
an AC game set in ottoman occupied greece around 1821 where the revolution started would be very cool as they were basically klephts (thieves) and armatoles (mercenaries) and the battles back then as well as the historic events would fit an assassin character and storyline
In my opinion, an ac in the far future would be interesting if they add something like traveling through planets and freeing them, and creating like an faction theme war against the Templars
Considering that in the Assassin's Creed universe human beings did not evolve but were created for the first civilization, would the period we consider the Stone Age be similar to that?
Now, I can agree with the Wild West, but I feel like a game set in the American Civil War era would be a great installment for the franchise. They were still using muskets in the war. It would have to take on a lot like AC3, but I feel like being a Union Assassin would be doable, going to Southern cities and battling the Confederates in the streets of say, Charleston, or New Orleans, maybe going to Gettysburg, partaking in some of the great battles fought during the Civil War, and maybe ending the game off by hunting down John Wilkes Booth as the final memory sequence. Something like that I believe would work nicely
If I was to do a World War II setting for AC, I would pick something like occupied Paris or Amsterdam. You wouldn't want AC on the frontlines, you'd want it behind the lines instead. However, the modern tech goes against a lot of what AC has going for it.
The Crimean War could be quite interesting. Lots of mixed technologies, opportunities for naval combat, a war and era which doesn't get too much attention and an interesting setting. Lots of players to. Make it around the Black Sea and Crimean Peninsula with various cities dotted about. From Constantinople, to Sevastapol and Odesa in the North. It'd be like a mix of Odyssey, Black Flag and 3. Plenty of famous people from that era too.
The problem really comes with modern weaponry not lending well to the assassins style. Having one shot pistols is fine because it takes a while to reload but when you have m16s it becomes problematic
Eras/Locations I think could be interesting for ac games -Holy Roman Empire -Tsardom of Russia -Some kind of ancient americas empire like the Incas or Aztecs -Vietnam during French occupation -1890s New Orleans -ww2 in a city like Oslo or Warsaw where an assassin helps the resistance -a redo of Ancient Greece because the political history between all of the smaller (kingdoms?) is really interesting and the rpg wasn’t very fun -Spanish inquisition -Australia no clue about Australian history but it’d be cool -kalmar Union -texas independence, probably the least likely on my list but I love the history of texas’ early years Sorry I said so much but there’s so many more interesting historical periods for assassins creed
As an Aussie myself, I reckon an Assassins Creed game set during the Frontier Wars between the British colonial authorities & the Indigenous population could be the way to go. And rather than the Templars or Assassins already having a stake in this part of the world, the claiming of Australia could lead to a story where both sides work to obtain as much influence as possible in this unknown land. I reckon that could work. Imagine both Assassins and Templars having to work in tandem to learn as much as they can about the - at the time - uncontacted Indigenous Australians, as well as the land they have arrived on. Or, maybe we could skip ahead to the time of the Bushrangers. We have had Assassins be Pirates before, so why not a group that are already celebrated in Australian history for being anti-tyrannical establishment? A few notable Bush Rangers & Indigenous warriors can be allies of the central character.
I've made another part of this for the 'Best Time Periods In Assassin's Creed. Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/aso4JqZW64Q/w-d-xo.html
World war 1 or 2 would tough to get to work but it would force stealth because combat would be very hard but it could work also the main focus of the game especially during World War II coukd be focusing on one of the many assassination attempts that Hitler survived and when they fail the disillusioned assassin could try to take revenge for something like that
@@paulcavalieri7345we know adewales grandson thought in the war and also Lidia Frye also was around so it would be legendary either main character
While a bit cliché, the end would likely see you infiltrate hitler's bunker, only to find his body double there (yes, in ac lore hitler wasn't in his bunker), then, youdn'd have to escape, avoiding allies soldiers going in there guns blazing to hunt him down and put an end to the tyrant, leaving him in the dirt he was hiding in to be forgotten
the thing is that WW2 AC would be just Sniper Elite... so there's no point in creating such game
@@gegi4577 Tf no it wouldn't. Sniper Elite has basic ass parkour that isn't free running, there's no social stealth, there's no good melee combat, and it likely wouldn't make you an American soldier. Your comparison makes no sense.

Could be an interesting twist.
considering we currently have Basim as modern day protag, this would be possible ngl.

the little peak in Unity was great. a secret society working in the chaos of the war would actually make sense
They also did a glitch for ww1 in syndicate. It works perfectly in my opinion
his whole reason for not wanting ww1 and ww2 was guns, but they've been in the series since ac2, hell, unity has rifles!
My big issue is I feel like Ubisoft is gonna put us on the front line and assassin creed WW2 is just a first person shooter
@@seans4961 would be a fresh experience in Assassin's creed
I think a WW2 AC in Berlin or an occupied City like Amsterdam, Oslo or Warsaw (Not Paris because we had this in Unity) would be great. The Assassins could work together with ressistance groups and fight Abstergo working together with the Nazis. Social stealth during a political speach or sneaking in an important building sounds amazing to me. Silenced pistols and hidden blades could fight against rifles with bajonets. And as it’s not 100% clear how Hitler died, maybe he was killed by a hidden blade in his bunker😉
The nazis were also into occult stuff too which could make room for the apple of eden or other Isu artifacts
WW2 is also the most justified conflict in recent human memory, it’s so obvious who the bad guys are lol
It’s such a gimme and many fans clearly want it I can’t believe they haven’t pulled the trigger yet
Eras/Locations I’d be interested in would be:
- Mexico during their war of independence from 1810-1821
- Medieval Scotland/England
- The Mali Empire of Africa
- The Mongolian Empires
- Ancient India
- Personally I wouldn’t hate WW1
- During French King Louis XIII’s rule (prime time for musketeers)
- The Mexican/American war of 1848
- The Aztec or Incan Empires
- Possibly America’s Great Depression at the end of the 1920s (although that might be a little too “modern” for the franchise)
- Maaaybe the American Civil War…? I’d settle for the Battle of New Orleans…
I wouldn’t even mind the founding of “New South Wales” when the British first claimed Australia in 1770. A “new” continent could lead to a power grab between the Assassins and the Templars. There could even be a Piece of Eden located in the Outback, the Rainforest, or the Australian Alps.
@@cybercop3108 It was more Viking age, I would imagine he meant a few hundred years after the fact when it was it's own estabilished Kingdom(s).

The likes of mirrors edges, while an fps proves this can work
Something really cool about Brotherhood, Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla was being able to visit the same location within the historical Animus simulation and the real world inhabited by the modern day characters.

El Paso could be a good city in between the two
Who would you be assassination though? Random rail barons, Pinkertons and outlaws? Still could end up like a cheap knock-off of RDR2.
@Roman27 The majority of the soldiers in WWI were equiped with bolt-action rifles and bayonets. Machine guns were reserved to battlefields.
You could do occupied France in WW2, remember the Saboteur?
It could have a start like mafia 2, just a sequence in the army then you join the brotherhood and leave the army and do other stuff
Ww2 would be bad for assassins creed and then they would rewrite history and tone it down for the kids
After that is done, it is much better if Ubisoft instead started doing what they did with AC2:
Settings which people did not even know they wanted to see before they did.
@@thereaper8878 the fact that I just started watching a video about his son and you posting this comment on the same second means something
They probably wouldn't do it as it's own game, but making it a DLC might not be a bad idea?
@@MrChristianDT yeah would be nice
Play watch dogs, same universe
Looking forward to the growth of this channel!
I think a WW1/2 setting could work mainly in places like London, Paris, and Berlin the focus on espionage would be perfect and there could be certain missions where you sneak on to a battlefield to take out targets the missions in Syndicate where you play in WW1 London definitely showed potential
hitler trying to get the aaple of eden for his wonder weapon
I'm still interested in what the assassins do/are like in modern times and even the far future. I'd love a TV show of these settings at least.
Very interesting indeed, it would be cool to see them tackle that historical moment.
Also Time of Troubles during the Polish invasion of Russia
Other periods that would be great to explore are:
-The Southamerican independences (and i emphasize this as a History student)
-Hatian revolution
-Hispanic-Azteca war
-Indian independence
-Altough it would be really complicated, there are a lot of russian history moments that would be great. A game about the russian revolution that culminates in the Stalin takeover could create a good story about the radicalization of ideals.
-Sakoku in Japan
-revisiting american history in the XIX century would be great, specially around the topic of the second slavery or the civil war. It would be really interesting to see how that period affected both the Templar order and the Assassins as well. And the theme would be the way in which both the north and the south practiced various forms of racist influence, the assassins would not only be dealing with a war against templars, but also a war against ideals and traditions.
You mean Sengoku Era Japan.
@@MrChristianDT No no, I'm referring to the Sakoku, the external relations policy that isolated Japan from most of the world.

This isnt a bad time period but I think a good one, in response to the comment at the beginning;
An aboriginal Australia would work, if it was of course the penal colony, the Aboriginals would be the Assassins like the Mayans were & the British establish this penal colony to mine for the Isu vault.
I'd also love to see something American, as one, idk what works but like Brazil-Portugal Split, US-Mexican War, Paraguay-Brazil War, or something before RDR2.
Best Periods for me
Ivan The Terribile's Russia
Roman Civil War between Marius and Silla (or during the Gracchus Era, a very turbulent time too)
Rise of Islam in 7th Century
The Roman one is impossible because it precedes Origins. Otherwise you'll end up with an abomination like Odyssey
This is what I’ve been trying to tell my friends but they don’t listen
The Wild West would make for a good rpg style AC game, but not classic style
Just do a bit of research on it and you'll be amazed seeing how advanced our ancestors where even more than 10000 years ago (I'm currently writing a pitch for an assassin's creed game set during the natufian period so in the period that caused the shift towards agricolture and society, probably will do nothing about it but if I manage to become a game dev I'll consider making a fan game in this time period)
you could also have a heavy isu presence as well, and it would work with the current rpg games
That would be great!
AC during the Triple Alliance War as a Brazilian Assassin would be epic
It honestly depends on what aspect of WW2 you’d be tackling. Obviously it wouldn’t work in a battlefield setting however an Assassin’s Creed game that focused on Resistance fighters, Spies, or the Holocaust could provide an interesting setting.
I don't think an assassin's game on the Holocaust is very respectful
@@alexanderk7353
They made two Assassins Creed games about slavery, were they respectful?
@@tallerwarrior1256 that's not the same? Slavery wasn't an attempt at genocide

Yeah but it was still a historical event that caused the suffering of millions for hundreds of years.
I think a game set in the warring states period in china would be a pretty cool period game.
A modern day Assassin's Creed game as a DLC in a length of Freedom Cry would have been cool tho
Especially if they did something with the French Resistance during World War II.
what about a assassin's creed in Persia that could be cool.
ye could play as darius that would be so cool
I want modern days to be like AC Brotherhood/AC3, short section to keep us engage with the modern timeline, it so bizzare how they do nothing with present anymore yet there SO.MUCH. media/comic like Damn Juno, Cross history, and much more
With stone age, there might be more isu stuff around since they came before everything
Too early, the creed didn't exist before Bayek.
@@Michael_the_Drunkard Not really, we don't have to play an assassin/hidden ones. we could play as the creator of the order of the ancients.

I know its between WW1 and WW2 but I want a game in the 1920s berlin. It doesn't have to be a big game just a spin off like mirage is enough
I think a Cold War AC game has potential to be pretty awesome

Wild West: Outlaws, limited stealth, no parkour
Stone age: No assassin brotherhood and Templar order had been formed since they are cavemen
WW1/WW2: Rogue Soldier's, Spy work, HitIer Assassination
Modern Day: Bring back Desmond.
I've always wanted an Assassin's Creed game set in the Dark Ages period
"European dark ages" is not a historical term. You mean the middle ages.
@@Michael_the_Drunkard yeah but the middle ages were also called the dark ages as well but yeah I shouldn't of wrote European
@@ImThAtGuY90didn’t AC1 did that?
@@Rieky22 the dark ages/middles ages was in Europe
There was a game called The Saboteur that was telling WW2 setting AC experience pretty well. It wasn't made by Ubisoft though.
Proper execution? By modern Ubisoft?
Same problem the Wild West game would have. No tall buildings, sparse population, open landscapes. Plus Ubisoft’s horse riding sucks.
And the jokes you could do if John Batman appears.
I see your point about the past, but think of it as a non-AC triology in the AC universe. I would absolutely love to learn more about the Isu!
I want Ancient Rome during the Spartacus Rebellion & I'll die on that hill!!!
i disagree. ww2 can be done imo and i think its one of the more interesting philosophical eras. i agree on stone age tho and wild west but i do think far future is possible if you focus on the other key values of ac. i don't see traveling back in time the most important IMO its more the historical recreations and the stealth. i can see a historical recreation of the us or france but in the far future being a way to have history and future mix together and then have the city or cities be somewhat like the favelas or what night cities japan town with a lot of parkour possibilities and a lot of assassination opportunities. maybe add some futuristic melee weapons and stealth knives or something. i don't think having guns ruins it tho because eventually ac needs a reinventing and i think guns can fit well in that look at the saboteur for example or some stealth gun games.
@@akmalonz thing is you can implement a mechanic where its not as much worth to do gun fights. that's what creativity is for
they can just make it like the arkham games where it is still possible to do actual combat in predator sections plus the 3rd person shooter gameplay shouldn't be a main focus nor a side thing either unless if ubisoft really wants to add it then make the assassin have a sniper like the Russian Assassin from AC chronicles or if they REALLY want to add gunplay with machine guns then it should be like Watch Dogs 1 since WD1 has very complex gameplay mechanics in which ubisoft would have to make it so that staying and shooting behind cover would make the A.I become aggressive like how 'Fear 1' utilised so that the game would incentives you to perform takedowns on enemies like WD1 and Fear but also being strategic so it would make it more complex and challenging or you can the Arkham style route witg the gameplay
Best time periods/locations for me :
Aztec empire
Istanbul during the reign of Abdulhamid II ,(cuz of the revolutions and the mafia tryna give opium in the streets , my imagination runs wild thinking how we stop
both )
Ww2 (this cud be made amazingly)
And my favourite would be playing as an alp during the time of osman I's father ertugrul , if done right it would be valhalla 10x better
Sorry bro Ottoman history is boring without Ezio.
And don't forget *Constantinople
@@Michael_the_Drunkard it's just my opinion 👍🏼, i think it would be great and im talking abt after constantinople turned into istanbul
These ritualistic murderers
operate out of ancient ruins, where it's sigil has already adorned it's walls for centuries.
Time piriods i want an assassin Creed game in
80 years war Dutch Revolution
Greek war of independence greek Revolution
First crusade 1 play as an templar
The regonquista
Modern day
Fal of Constantinople play as an Turkish Assassin
A Byzantine/Roman Assassin in the 600s would be better, since Constantinople wasn't so ruinous.
Here are my settings for an AC game: Second Sino-Japanese War, Medieval Europe (maybe during the Hundred Year War), Anglo Zulu War, Mongol Empire.
This is probably why the devs haven’t attempted a proper ancient Roman game yet, since it’s hard to pinpoint an era to set the game in.
this might sound crazy but what about during the eruption of vesuvius?
They could do it around the Spartacus time. I would fuck with that to be honest.
@@Linus1871 That's essentially the same time as Origins though.
Alright so in order:
We need a game that takes place during ISU times on god
Syndicate already somewhat tackled WW1 with Lydia Frye, but honestly, that could be adapted into a full game.
Eras/Locations I think could be interesting for ac games
-Holy Roman Empire
-Tsardom of Russia
-Some kind of ancient americas empire like the Incas or Aztecs
-Vietnam during French occupation
-1890s New Orleans
-ww2 in a city like Oslo or Warsaw where an assassin helps the resistance
-a redo of Ancient Greece because the political history between all of the smaller (kingdoms?) is really interesting and the rpg wasn’t very fun
-Spanish inquisition
-Australia no clue about Australian history but it’d be cool
-kalmar Union
-texas independence, probably the least likely on my list but I love the history of texas’ early years
Sorry I said so much but there’s so many more interesting historical periods for assassins creed
great choices. in my newer videos, i've spoken about the roman empire, aztec, spanish inquistition.
I think for WWI or WWII it would more empathize stealth some newer games haven’t had. With maybe some TPS sections.
