In the defense of Mirage, the devs of that game didn’t have that much time to work with it. They still made a hell of a game in my opinion.
I agree I give a lot of credit to the devs being stuck with the valhalla engine and not having much time and still being able to make a solid game that brought us back to its roots. Would love to see them have more time and be able to do a full title

@@JozefPisudski2137 nope. Mirage was meant to be a DLC after Valhalla dropped. Still, had a very small team.

Connor is a character that is precise and full of conviction. I would even agrue the best conviction in the series. In a way, he's like John Wick. Definitely an undervalued character in my opinion.

U understatnd the religion area is based on God's why syndicate and rouge were not good games the first ac was based onto the ark of the covenant realize that Minerva inac2 was Jupiter the dude was mars and the other sister was saturn
The only thing I hate about mirage is roshan sounding like she smoked to many cigarettes and the pro about mirage is the plot twist
The plot twist was very good I liked that a lot, and yea roshan's voice really annoyed me as well

That was a nice ranking, thanks. If you'll allow me, my list (today) would be:
1 Ezio's trilogy - Perfection. Personally, I don't judge them separately. I consider them as if they were a big, big game 😅
2 AC3 - Intense history and very good characters. Overshadowed by comparison with its predecessors
3 Origins - Isn't perfect, but is beautiful, epic and very funny, with coolest protagonists
4 Black Flag - fun adventure, nice characters and good narrative
5 Unity - Underrated due his release. Needed more development and a better story
6 Odyssey - Very long and too much fantasy elements, but i really liked this one
7 Mirage - very short and flat. It has a good gameplay, but for me... something's missing, I don't know
8 Syndicate - Average. Cool setting, but boring history
9 Valhalla - massive mess, empty characters and unnecessarily long
10 Rogue - just a extended dlc with full price and overrated story
(*AC1 I'm not including because I played it very little)

Could not agree more, for me AC2 is my all time favourite, would highly recommend getting into modding it, modded ac2 & syndicate. Small things like always having your hood up in syndicate or little mods like the OG Glove for ezio’s second hidden blade just do something for a man
I normally love modded my games (I'm a Bethesda fan lol) but to me there's just something special about playing my original copy on my 360

I noticed Odyssey is a lot like the Witcher 3 in terms of game formula, which isn’t a bad thing it’s just a matter of preference.
I still gotta play witcher 3 and I think I'm gonna love it, because with odyssey it wasn't even necessarily it's gameplay loop but I could just never care about the story or characters in that game so it made playing it more annoying imo
Odyssey cannot hold a candle to TW3

Ranking rogue so low is crazy, yea the game could’ve been more but it was a little different
It could potentially be a few spots higher but I really wouldn't put it any higher than right below syndicate, I just really didnt like the setting, the characters, and the story could've been a lot better imo. It was fun playing as a Templar tho I really enjoyed that switch
The world of Rogue was just copy pasted of AC 3 to me... Too many reused textures that's why I personally don't like it... Great game tho

I personally also have to say, I really like Odyssey. It works better as just Greek RPG spin-off. For me at least. Isn’t perfect though. I might adress it in the future when I review Odyssey!

I agree that Odyssey is little bit different, but what do we evaluate? We evaluate the game itself. The game shall not be bad just because it does not fit all previous franchise aspects. Everyone says that absence of hidden blade makes Odyssey not to be AC game, however, e.g. stealth in Odyssey is much more better than in Valhalla or Origins, so it doesn't matter if it is hidden blade or spear, the implementation of stealth mechanics is important.
odyssey was the only assassins creed game to get nominated at the game award in 2018 being compared to to god of war 4 an rdr2 an people going as far as to say this the best assassins creed game if anything odyssey did what most ac games couldn’t do being compare to top shelf games like I said god of war an rdr2 an the gameplay for odyssey is better then the old ones stealth actually work stealth in the old games was like a chore 🤦🏽♂️ all I can say is look at the numbers for odyssey an the older ones tell me which one bring in more money

@@Edgeguardian graphics protagonist best modern day ever in assassins creed Unity had only one city and too many side missions besides parkour graphics and character customisation nothing else was really that good Odyessy just had better character customisation but Origins had a better story otherwise both the games were quite similar due to the ship battles time period countries weaponry and antagonists

I just started playing odyssey then AC 2 and they’re both great games, but I do realize there’s a difference between a great game and a great AC game

AC1 gameplay is actually really good. The parkour is the best system in the series and the parkour playgrounds are the best in the series. And the combat is the best in the series.
The investigations Altaïr has to do make sense in the story because he's been demoted so he has to do all the footwork. They also give a lot of lore and usable info for the assassinations.
The bad things are those that slow us down and add nothing to the experience. Things like the drawn out, unskippable tutorial and the boring trek between cities. Even after unlocking fast travel we still have ride outside of Masyef about two miles in order to do it.
I do like the investigations as it makes sense narratively but I wish they added more then just that. And I agree traveling from each city to the other remains annoying the entire game
@@Edgeguardian it would also make narrative sense for Altaïr to be gradually relieved of these tasks as he works his way up the ranks. One might imagine that Al Mualim is giving these orders to keep Altaïr busy and out of the way.
Either way, more variation would have been nice. They don't take much time, thankfully.

I like every AC except RPG gameplay.
Interesting, my opinion on Valhalla went up. I'm playing through it now, yes, story too long, but I don't hate it anymore
Also, how can a game being average drag it down? That means it isnt bad, so Rogue shouldn't be last. And syndicate needed the grappling hook bc of the wide streets, so it's historically accurate.
Well for me I don't think there's a single BAD assassin's creed game so rogue being average kinda just ends up making it last, and yea I understand how the grappling hook is historically accurate because of the wide streets but it still messes with the parkour imo
@@Edgeguardian But with that logic parcour in Odyssey, Origins, Valhalla, Mirage or any AC game, that has open spaces is bad, because you can't parcour over open spaces. With the grappling hook in Syndicate you could at least continue the parcour.
Valhalla is worst and I literally didn't feel like continuing and haven't finished.

Agree, Ubi MNG kills the franchise, however, we can be glad that there are still engineers and programmers who fight with MNG to keep the quality :).
I'm 15 minutes in to this video, trying to decide which newer ac game I want to play. This guy says it's his favorite franchise but pretty much every game he is so negative about. Even in his top five. I know less except for each games downfall and almost feel I should give up on ac and find something else
I wasn’t trying to be overly critical with them I just got strong opinions on each game so there’s bad stuff I notice with most of them😭 If you’re talking about newer newer ones like the rpg ones I would recommend origins. Odyssey could be very fun for u as well. But if it’s not those then Unity is a fantastic game as well and is the best in some aspects in the entire franchise.

Rogue has the best parkour in the Kenway saga. The Morrigan is the best ship in the series.

@@Edgeguardian Morrigan is a bit more nimble and I prefer the puckle gun. It seems to me that Shay has a better connection or reason to be emotionally attached to his ship

I definitely enjoyed Valhalla at first but by the time I finished and time goes on I just don't look back on the things as well, The world is beautiful though and some of the missions are really fun

All opinions are valued, but man putting Odyssey and Origins THAT much apart makes it really personal, rather than objective.. I would prefer a more objective list... In no serious ranking ever Odyssey has been outside the top 3 or 5 max...
I don't think odyssey does too much well outside of its open world tbh, combat is ok but enemies are very spongey, the story wasn't good imo, and I really didn't like the characters all that much, the open world was very fun tho
You're lucky it wasn't last, since that game is the biggest insult this franchise has ever given its fans, mainly the dlc. Would be fine with it if it wasn't called Assassin's Creed.

Rogue and Syndicate should be higher on the list. And Origins should be lower. Beautiful world and exploration, but plot "They k... my son, so I will be revange" not more. And no moral choosing looks like in other RPGs
First off love the inosuke profile pic, and yea I feel like maybe if I replayed origins it would fall down a little bit because of it's story, but it is still a beautiful game, and I would possibly bump rogue and syndicate a few spots. Especially syndicate because I honestly did have a pretty fun time playing that game, just didn't like the story.

According to metrics and statistics, the most popular and the most played title is still Odyssey, which means that Odyssey is objectively the best title in AC series.
Arguments like "Valhalla or Odyssey are not true AC games" are invalid arguments. Do you really want 20 AC titles with the same mechanics and features just to say that each of them is true AC game?
On the other hand, Unity matches all AC aspects the best, and despite this fact, it is evaluated many times as the worst title in AC series. So, players, what do you really want? :)

Idk it was just a game that I didn't want to put all that time into but had to so I could beat the game, exploring and just experiencing the game was fun tho, I just didn't like the story much

Unity has a mid parkour system. Ain't no way you could call it the best. It's clunky, automated, limited, inprecise and the animations makr you fucking glue to a wall after being pulled in by an imagonary magnet. All the games before Unity have better parkour, with a manual ledge grabbing mechanic and proper ejecting.
The combat?! Dude, Unity's combat is broken as hell. Ain't no way you can dodge bullets in long range combat without also starting a melee fight. Unless you stay behind a wall like a coward. The swordfighting is repetitive and the special attacks are unrealistic and look like lightsaber swings. Unity's combat sucks.
