    I never personally thought of the CSL Pedals as a replacement for the Elites. I recall them saying in a blog post that the CSL line was meant it be a tier below the Elite.
    So I guess there's now CSL, CSL Elite, Clubsport and Podium product tiers?
    It'll be interesting to see if we get refreshes of Clubsport tier products or new ones. And maybe a DD in the Clubsport wheel base tier

    My wife just picked these up as part of their black friday deal $200, but I have to wait for x-mas, and I can't wait. I used to have the old CSL elites, and I really liked those too, and always regreted when I had to let them go.

    Thank you for giving us your perspective on Fanatec's new offer.
    ---
    Damn, now Fanatec threw a wrench into my plans. I noticed in the spring that my highly modded T-LCM are starting to fail me. So I planned to upgrade after the summer. Because I race in socks, hydraulics aren't really an option, so I zeroed in on Asetek Forte, Sprints, Moza CRP, and DC Simracing Pedals. All are in the prince range that is acceptable to me. I consider simracing a hobby, and I'm thinking long term when buying so I'd rather pay more up front and be happy for the next 3+ years. Dan Suzuki showed us Asetek Forte is a strange/failed design. Moza CRP are also out, because they don't have EU store. (Taxes and customer support). Now, I have to research if these Fanatec pedals could be my next upgrade. I still prefer DC and Sprints. Sprints are more reputable brand, but DC cost half of Sprints. And DC design is "keep it simple stupid" (same as Sprints). So if anything fails, it could easily be replaced with not manufacturer's parts. Damn, what should I buy, what should I buy...

    • @kevinblythe2192
      @kevinblythe2192 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@renelammers813 At double the price, the sprints are brilliant from all accounts but Fanatec seem to have nailed it with the V2's and at half the price. That's really impressive.

    I received the V2 pedals last week. I upgraded from the standard CSL pedals that come with GT DD Pro - I was using them for about a year.
    I was a bit sceptical about the V2's before I got them, but what a difference. I love them. I even find the accelerator to be good, especially for finding 70% and smoother acceleration and the like. The brake pedal is the star though.

      I did it the other way around, hated the Clubsport brake. Clutch was good, a throttle is a throttle, brake pedal wasn't conducive for trail braking at all. The CSL Elite V2 make it so easy, should carry a weight penalty for using them. 🤣

    I just ordered these v2 to replace my v3 with bpk and damper. I think the feel of these pads will be better and the bigger travel on the brake and the feedback of that convinced me to at least try.

    It seems like, for $20~ish US, i can really improve my pedal set as opposed to spending $400~ish on a new set.

    Copy pasting my comment so more people are aware of this: I heard really mixed reviews of this. Some f1 esports drivers received those pedals and they had drifting/grinding issues with the throttle and brake pedal and two of them had to actually retire or couldn't attend f1 league races because of it. Joni Tormala had to retire mid-race in an f1 esports race and Jarno Opmeer couldn't attend the latest WOR because of those brake issues. Happend in the same week IIRC. I'd rather stay away from fanatec when it comes to pedals (except their v3s) but that's just me I guess ---- EDIT: to give further information, the starting point keeps changing of both brake and throttle (doesn't go 0/0) and the break literally starts dragging after some laps. "Forcevsoutput" (not sure exactly what he meant) of the brake pedals feels inconsistent aswell.
    Time will tell I guess. Nonetheless I really like that they brought back this design. Always looked so much better than the current CSL pedals. I hope the v2s turn out to be solid.

      Thank you for the comment. I've been discussing this with our esports technical team, who have been in contact with a few of the pro drivers who provided feedback or ran into issues, and these were all addressed. For example, Joni reported a brake issue and this was because he was using an old driver. It was solved after updating. We also received reports of the throttle not going back to 0% or not reaching 100%, and this was due to pushing the limits of the manual calibration (setting the min and max too close to the mechanical end points). Since then we have received no further reports and the pro drivers appear to be very satisfied with the new pedals.

      CSL Elite V2's, I just changed from V3's to these, I loved the look of the V3 but the brake pedal isn't very good in my opinion. The clutch pedal is better on the V3 if that's important to you, but if you don't use it often then the V2's clutch is fine. Throttle has maybe more throw. The V2's are all about the brake pedal, make no mistake, this is outstanding, you'd need to spend a lot more money to get better than this, it gives you superb control of your braking, trail braking and brake modulation is so easy with the V2's. Excellent build quality too. The only thing I didn't like about them was the rubber on the throttle, easily removed.
