Our love for Cyberpunk and this OST has united us-- and hey, that's what matters, right? We're hitting the major leagues. Never stop fighting, all of you Vs.
I have two questions: 1. Is your actual name Emily Kim Martin? Cuz that’s a dope name 2. Do you have an Instagram where you post this? If not, maybe consider it? Would be really cool Have a good day :)
That terrifying moment when you're a fresh faced security guard on his first night shift at Arasaka Tower and the Rebel Path (cello version) kicks in from the lobby.
I was driving to the bank with my friend and played this as I pulled in. He turned and with the most concerned tone he said “I don’t like where this is going”
Don’t Fear (the Reaper) is by far my favorite, sure fighting along side Panam or Rogue is nice, but fighting along side the same person who destroyed Arasaka Tower all those years ago? It’s truly badass
Running through Arasaka tower, then coming up on the mainframe room and this version of the track starts to play... it really gets your blood pumping and drives the scene. It's one of the few times in a game where I felt truly immersed; I *was* Johnny, kicking down doors to rescue Alt.. and nobody was going to stop me.
So I just finished the secret ending... that this version of the song is there when you're raiding Arasaka Tower all by yourself really adds to the tension and excitement of the scene. I loved it!
Me too, but after that mission, it was clear to me that Johnny was a cyberpsycho, probably one of the firsts. When he blew Arasaka he blew hundreds of other ''Alt'' too so that makes us no hero anywhere. But as I was immersed on V as well, my final mission was the same as his. If you have enough friendship with him you can opt suicidal mission and climb the tower without any backup at the end game. With perma-death working as failure ending, if you can't do it. I had the chance to experience the same feeling twice in the same game, the only difference that I did so for V, preemptively, so Panam would not have the same destiny as Alt. Even though as a lesbian V, Panam was just the best friend only. I loved the Aldecaldos too much to use them in the end. Tell me about awesome.
I always found ot intresting how what is basically Johnny's theme isn't punk rock, it'd make perfect sense, but this makes more sense, its like a seething string of rage, its how Johnny really feels, angry, wrathful, wanting vengeance and revenge for all the BS he's been put through, what his friends have been put through what his lover was put through and its sad in a way, because deep down Johnny knows he basically lead them all to their fates, everyone ends up where they are because of his actions, everyone he comes into contact with has SOMETHING terrible happen to them, Alt gets basically trapped in a digital hell, Rouge is either forced into being a corpo sell out or DIES for Johnny, and V, V is literally dying because of Johnny being introduced into their nervous system, Johnny is like a bad omen almost, when he's around something bad will happen and its super neat
I'd like to disagree on the Alt part. Firstly, she was taken cuz of her work on Soulkiller. Not Johnny. We're told that very clearly. Secondly, it's not digital hell, because the Alt we see isn't Alt. That's an AI that uses her data, she says so herself. The real Alt is dead after Johnny disconnected her while Soulkiller was running
The cello is the absolute best part of this song. Along with the pulse pounding anger of the main track, the cello makes me think of a moment of seething respite.
For me that trembling cello part really sounds like a mixture of anger, hate, sadness and revenge mashed up together. Especially knowing the motivation and what went down, this makes perfect sense: Johnny launches the attack on Arasaka to avenge Alt, which added onto his already deep hate of Arasaka, but storming a megacorp's HQ is a suicide mission and surely he knows it, he is ready do everything at any cost, that's some badass if you ask me
@@EmilyKimMartin Didn't play that game but I can definitely imagine how badass it can be. For CP specifically I guess it's that immersion, literally I feel like I was Johnny at that moment
For Johnny, Jackie and David. We're storming Arasaka Tower, Don't Fear The Reaper style and taking down Smasher. And we'll take out the entire building with everyone in it if we have to.
Three legends who left their mark in a bittersweet ending! The harsh concrete jungle of Night City couldn't tame them, but it eventually reclaimed their lives...
Some guy made a version with only the cello, shouldn't be too hard to find, just search up "The Rebel Path Cello Only" or something, then loop the video with right click.
I love that there's so many ways to interpret this track. You can say this is Johnny's theme, the cello is like the calm before the storm. The helicopter ride to the tower. Him psyching himself up. And the dubstep is him letting his gun do the talking. Or you could say this is the theme of Night City itself. The cello is the sadness and despair that run itself through every lower class citizens, living in slums, on the streets, and with barely, if any food on the table. And the dubstep shows the shadows of the city. The gangsters and corpos and private militaries gunning each other down for territory and money. The danger... but also excitement of the fight. Every spent casings that fall is a roll for someone's life. This track can go so many ways, and I love it dearly. Definitely the best track of the game. With the whole 30 Principales radio station right behind it.
Yeah we based it on Palestine and the average 11 year old there, but a UK equivalent. TH-cam is Corpo right? If you get they're not entirely victims maybe when older you can cooperate for better standards of living, you'd get where they're coming from.

"Here lies Johnny Silverhand, the man who saved my life." Has a nice ring to it. This game was flawed but it wasn't in its writing. The story was near perfect. When I first saw Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand in E3, I was so hyped and knew Johnny was gonna be my favorite character. Then I played the game and Johnny was such an abusive asshole and not just to me... To Alt, Rogue, Kerry, and everyone else. Such an egoistic, sadist piece of shit of a human being with no regards to anyone else's feelings. Then I progressed through the game and realized my initial reaction had been right. He was my favorite character and it was because of how humanly real he feels. I could identify with Johnny being a dick, and like him, I regret it too. It's not easy fighting with how you've lived your whole life, and Johnny took the easy way out by taking it out on Arasaka...
The thing I miss the most from the undelivered RPG we were promised was a much more dynamic relationship with Johnny. I wish we could've had more options on how to react and deal with him just to see more sides of his character. I agree, for what it's worth, the writing is pretty good. Jackie, Johnny, Rogue, Judy, Panam and the Nomads, Street Kid V... they're all pretty well written. buuuuulllllshhiiiiittt. He took the hardest way out there is and fought the world alone. You're just being captain normie and being a celebrity worshipper, you worshipped keanu reeves because it was keanu reeves. And didn't like the actual real, not politically correct, amazing character, you fool.
Immersion and characters were perfect, even had some realistic approach and its also oldschool psychology for them. If the game had its features and not many bugs during launch it would have been the perfect game.
They really dropped the ball on CP2077 but, even with all of the problems and the negative experience, it was still an enjoyable ride (even if for the wrong reasons). I hope to revisit it one day!
@@EmilyKimMartin Me too, to be honest I can't stop thinking about that. Maybe CDPR will avenge the situation one day. One thing I will never forget is how dialog and relationship and meeting and taking friends feels so damn real, authentic. The writers were geniuses, I think ppl who lives in big cities can relate. Alone out here friends are like family, and you always have a ''johnny'' in the group haha.
Did you just say that no game is ever going to have all of its features and not many bugs at launch? I could probably spend hours listing all the games that launched with minimal bugs, and even moreso for ones that had all their features at launch.
@@eagleeye5189 I usually don't reply that kind of comment trying to be "only one with the truth" but I'll make an exception, since we're in a crisis in gaming right now. There is a difference between bugs, as you believe you understand what it even means, and rushing. Cops teleporting for example isn't a bug, not even a glitch - then I leave you to think about what it means by yourself. I'm sure you own the required intelligence and creativity. Now, the last time people attempted this cliche excuse, "features equals bugs" abominations like Fallout 76 came out, because Bethesda found out that not properly finishing or polishing things is understandable. Again I leave you to think. Again I'm sure you will get it. We could count as much as 10 basic features promised by the devs that were ultimately removed (and around 8 of them they never told us about removing it) and the 48 minutes video became the best ridiculing meme against a company in existence. So even if you were right about the excuse you gave, outdated and overused, features is the least thing Cyberpunk truly had. Not even basic cop's behavior. I keep with my first comment as solid reason to like that game, but I'm not dumb nor blindly accepting what CDPR did to us.
Hey, everyone! I'm glad both 2.0 and Phantom Liberty being amazing has brought many of you back (and some new faces, too)! I hope you are all enjoying the game, because I surely am :) I'll reply to all of your comments... eventually... lol
I've been listening to this specific video for a while, its part of my workout play list. I really appreciate you and am happy to hear you are having a blast with Phantom Liberty. Such a bitter sweet feeling knowing this will be the final update for what may be my favorite game of all time.
This is the absolute best version of The Rebel Path. Thank you so much for uploading! It's a pity this is not on the official OST, they really missed out.
I played cyberpunk 2077 once and I decided myself to do the dont fear the reaper ending and I equip myself with the best cybernetics and raid the most evil corpo known to men after I refused to side with hanako araska like the true rebel I'm and survived the entire araska raid and. Even defeated smasher with Rebecca shotgun and David implant in honor of those 2 great chooms that died in smasher hand
I think they should have gone with this more distorted version of Silverhand for the game, too many people just saw Keanu in cosplay and sympathized with him more than they should have.
I believe in the 'leak' stating Keanu's inclusion happened mid-way through development and meant the game had to be rewritten. I'm sure the original plot was much more intense than what we got, with a much more intense Johnny!
@@EmilyKimMartin The biggest let down of this game for me was the storyline and mission structure being so unfinished, would make a lot of sense if it was a last minute re-structuring.
@@wiwysova I do as well, just wish things were a bit more gray. Johnny did kill a lot of people in his quest to destroy Arasaka, that part should have been a lot more clearer.
This part of the game reminds me so much of playing far cry 3 when you burned the weed farm down, literally just stud there and listened to the song and totally forget what I was supposed to be doing
If Cyberpunk 2077 ever became a movie and this was to be the official pathway to end it here’s how I see it going down. First the song to play would be Black Holes from the very first Cyberpunk trailer, and as the song starts to get heavy V walks in to the Arasaka Tower lobby to be stopped by guards to be checked for weapons (a nod to the first matrix movie lobby shootout scene.) Then from there it carry’s out then transitions over to this song.
The cello part, oh dear god, makes you feel what is going on in Johnny's mind: The hurt samurai, one last blaze of glory, the rage, the hatred, the revenge, the woman you love (well, Johnny's style of loving at least). Pumps up the adrenaline to the sky and then the beat drops as you pull your pistol, start blasting everyone on your "rebel" path as each bullet fired you feel more and more rage build up. Cyberpunk made some mistakes initially, but they got the music-story-athmosphere %100. Can't wait for Phantom Liberty!
@@EmilyKimMartin Not easy.. Judy, Panam, Kerry, Johnny.. I would say the V / Johnny relationship, it can be amazing depending on your choices. And precisely V female yes, it's the same with V male but with the female version the relationship is better I think

And am not even comparing it with games like ac valhalla which is like 150 hours to 100%. Am only saying it cauz devs had promised "a game as long as the whitcher 3" and "a game with a main story that takes atleast 45 hours".
For those of you that have the Steam version, you have a folder inside the game folder ([Steam installation folder]\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\Bonuscontent\sountrack), which contains the soundtrack in MP3, FLAC and uncompressed WAV 16 bit 44.1 kHz Stereo. So, I wouldn't say it's 'unreleased'..
It's such a good version of the track. re-watching Johnny's memories made me feel feelings, now that I know how things end. the cello bits at the beginning of this video immediately recalls those feelings.
The song title fit perfectly. It’s like I always stealth all the way up until this mission, I go full on gun blazing, not even cover behind wall. The Rebel Path. There’s some weird energy especially when the cello kicks in. Very powerful score!
I still remember when V busts into the room with his gun pointed at adam smasher, and when adam smasher asks who he is, V says "I'm the cyberpunk." CHILLS
A mate of mine started a new job at a big trading company a year back, he had been there a month or so (i think he said) and when he was on his way in to the office his headphones caught on something and disconnected, but he didnt notice as theyre old and his music wasnt that loud through them anyway. Apparently, one of his friends there heard this song playing and just went, "Oh christ, that's definitely not good" They both still joke about it, his friend will go "howre you today Silverhand, sorry i mean ___" And he'll respond "not bad takemur- oops, ___"

@@eagleeye5189 He clearly didn't say that! "If the game had its features and *not many bugs* during launch"
Listen to this song when storming Arasaka after Edgerunner is perfect. Sad, sorrow, anger combine together make this a perfect vengeance.

I'll reply to all of your comments... eventually... lol
Just started playing the game last week and I love ittt
I've been listening to this specific video for a while, its part of my workout play list. I really appreciate you and am happy to hear you are having a blast with Phantom Liberty. Such a bitter sweet feeling knowing this will be the final update for what may be my favorite game of all time.
Dude it was the shiz-nit
No. I genuinely agreed with johnny. Johnny was right.
@@wiwysova I do as well, just wish things were a bit more gray. Johnny did kill a lot of people in his quest to destroy Arasaka, that part should have been a lot more clearer.
@@EmilyKimMartin What makes you think it is that way

Time to party like its 2023
Well…1 month until we can all say “Time to Party like it’s 2023”
Time to party like it’s 2023
If Cyberpunk 2077 ever became a movie and this was to be the official pathway to end it here’s how I see it going down.
First the song to play would be Black Holes from the very first Cyberpunk trailer, and as the song starts to get heavy V walks in to the Arasaka Tower lobby to be stopped by guards to be checked for weapons (a nod to the first matrix movie lobby shootout scene.)
Then from there it carry’s out then transitions over to this song.
Rebel path and giving up your body would fit best as a movie
The reaction of cops who knew what this song was when I'd blast it at red lights next to them is PRICELESS!!!
That sounds like a fun time lol!!! Keep blasting it, samurai!

Phantom Liberty is shaping up to be an experience that will change our vision of Cyberpunk forever. Let's hope it delivers!

hours to finish the game
@@Reapstep im sorry, but even with todays standards that game was avarage/pretty long 💀
@@ehNokka most games nowadays r 20 hours long . cyverpunk took 17 hours to beat the main story . its not even above average . 100% of the game only took me 65 hours . and from those 65 hours , most content was filler with no point to the story(stuff like gigs and those ncpd events). And am not even comparing it with games like ac valhalla which is like 150 hours to 100%. Am only saying it cauz devs had promised "a game as long as the whitcher 3" and "a game with a main story that takes atleast 45 hours".
“Almost certainly an ambush waiting. Dont overthink this - you’re better than them.”
When the game gets it right, it gets it RIGHT.
Yes! When Cyberpunk scores, it's a 10/10!

I love Johnny, but I wish we had gotten the game from the very beginning, with no timeskip.
We all needed more time with Jackie :(
@@EmilyKimMartin I would agree, Jackie was a good character overall. But maybe an hour or more of screen time with him rather than just a few missions, a 5 minute cut-scene then the botched heist. Just so that we could take a deeper look into his personal life, his routine, etc. Rather than Misty tell V most of it nearing the end of the game.
