Playing this game in 2023, the year of our Rebel with fresh eyes, untainted by the preceding bugs and I have to say that the game is an absolute blast. This scene was especially great to play!
I did the same thing, I played at launch and had to stop because I was so disappointed… but then I came back this year with a fresh perspective and I couldn’t stop playing it
This game was flawed but, man It did the setting so much justice. Both the introductory adventure (The first time you played Johnny) and the Arasaka tower were done so beautifully. Seeing these Iconic characters doing their thing was such a treat as someone who played the pen and paper. Having Johnny's Iconic gun certainly helped.
that mission and going to save Alt are actually 2 campaigns in cyberpunk the roleplaying game to teach people how to play it hahaha that was a nice touch for me
That's what you get when story & art direction is top notch but execution is lazy. Lucky for the ones who did not try the game yet, recent patches actually made it better. Not perfect, but certainly much, much better.
V attacks not from above or below. From front door. Arasaka be like: holy shit what is happening? Oh its just V. Also Arasaka: but why do I hear Johnny's music?
It's just awesome when you reach the lowers levels, when they screams "how can one solo dude can do so much damage?!". I felt so fucking powerful at that moment.
Played this game recently and my favourite part was when I noticed in this sequence that if you time your reloads right Johnny reloads exactly in time with the music.
this game was just something else man, the amount of work an passion that was out for years, cant believe they just made the developers rush the game and release it, they robbed Cyberpunk of its deserved praise and glory
Yeah it’s a shame When you drive/walk through night city you feel this sad essence of an empty husk of a city. The map is massive and the design is superb, but it’s just like an empty shell. Imagine GTA 5 los santos without the missions and most of the functionality / AI, that’s what cyberpunk feels like. The game needed more love, the kind of love only developers like rockstar can provide on that scale.
Cyberpunk 2077 is receiving the deserved attention now after Edgerunners, I'm so glad this happened after two years of a messy clusterfuck that was cp2077 launch, people are finally realizing how good is the game/story!
Not sure if you've played this game, but in context this song goes even harder. It's one of the most action packed tense missions and you have an overpowered gun that feels so satisfying to use, and more importantly is animated to a rhythm that works with the song
@@lordeddy05 honestly its decent, and Its a really fun game to just murder hobo around the open world, especially as you unlock the movement abilities, plus i was playing at launch on a base xbox one, I figure they've done quite a bit to improve the experience since then

Even then, I think it's a must play, at least once. Specially if you can do it on a decent pc. I heard the last patches killed the traffic and pedestrians tho, it's like the city is emptier.
@@Ecliptor. honestly, I think the best part of the game is how it genuinely delivered on the immersive feeling for a lot of the experience. Even with it’s awful launch, I still loved every second of this game, especially the soundtrack. This game has helped me through a tough time and therefore it means a lot more to me for that reason. I understand this game isn’t for everyone, but anyone else who genuinely just enjoyed this game, like my comment, I want to know I’m not alone in thinking this game is actually pretty damn good, glitches and bugs aside.
Same, strangely enough the only bugs I experienced during launch were at times when someone called me, i'd have 2 voices playing at the same time. I thought the game was great along with the gameplay. Could it have been better? Sure but it was still a 7/10 for me. I just wished there was more romance options that mattered, shame Judy isnt able to be romanced by male V
@@ManoloRibera070 yeah I completely agree tbh. I also wish the don’t fear the reaper ending was like secretly a way for V to stay alive and for it to act as the good ending ya know?
I loved this game. Bugs in games are almost never a huge deal to me unless they really just stop progression or enjoyment. They can be fixed with time, yeah it's better to start without bugs and with more big features that feel like they should have been in the game from the start or at least earlier rather than later, but I think that as long as I get these features to play with eventually, then it becomes something I can come back to and still figure out/find something new. After patch 1.6 it is very rare that I really encounter any bugs in cyberpunk, and it is because of these patches coming out fixing minor and major problems while still adding at least something small and new (and getting a series X to play cyberpunk on rather than an Xbox one s) I can confidently say that I enjoy playing this game and that I will continue to enjoy it doing many more playthroughs in the future. I'm excited for future updates and the DLC expansion and can't wait to fool around with them!
I discovered it very recently, thanks to Edgerunners which made me realise I did have an interest for the setting (when the game came out I couldn't have cared less). I get the game, mostly fixed, and I'm not finished with it yet but I'm loving every single second of it, and it's helping me through tough times as well. The characters, dialogue, music, ambience, visuals, everything is great (I'd rate the gameplay as decent, not perfect but not bad so it doesn't detract from the rest) and makes you feel like it's a real world
Becoming a true solo and taking down Arasaka tower on a death run all the while having Keanu Reeves guiding you to the objective with this masterpiece playing in the back... with all the bugs and the under baked narrative input from the player, THIS fucking badass ending sold Cyberpunk as one of my personal favorites of all time.
Now with the Phantom liberty and bug fixes I can say that this game is an absolute masterpiece. The writing, the directing, screenplay, gameplay, music, environment it's all 10/10. I have been playing games since the 90's and people won't agree with me, but to me this is the greatest single player game ever made. It's too good, and it lived to the hype it was getting before the initial launch. Good job, CD project red keep it up, prove me wrong!
Yes it's my favourite game as well, i was in love with Mass Effect 1 long time ago and now i found something even better, finished my third playthrough already❤
Still give me chills. I think we should seperate the management stuff of CDPR and the developers because clearly developers did care a lot about this game. It was not ready and cant blame the devs for that, because what they did show to us was excellent imo.
With all the chronic pain and shit I've been going through that's been keeping me from gaming like in the 2010s, this game finally made me feel like a badass again through the music and gameplay alone Holy fuck
Just Finished Cyberpunk 2077 and oh my god, this is by far the best game I played in my life. I dont care about the visual bug, the Story and Gameplay is God tier.
Same happened to me. Did not expect the storytelling to be that raw. Add the RPG mechanics, constant tragedy, character interactions, Silverhand's sarcastic insights and revolutionary rockstar asshole attitude and last but not least, the authoritarian ambiance. What a fucking game.
The setting of Cyberpunk always felt to me, a 40k lore enjoyer, like a precursor to that entire setting. I dont often like mixing and matching different lore settings, but the world of Cyberpunk just felt like it was on a direct path to what the Terra became in the Warhammer lore. I can also just imagine a bunch of Tech-priests oiling their robes when seeing so much technology to touch and disect.
Warhammer 40k wouldn't make sense, Earth went through a glorious utopian eden phase like the pax romana, before succumbing to a collapse that replaced it with barbarity and violence. Cyberpunk has already been there, the world is fucked and whats left is ran by corporations
@@yourlocalpunkposer8107 Yeah, but CP´s Earth is still in her early 2000´s. In 40k, Terra went through alot, but humanity started to really take off around year 10000 or so. It dissolved in 25k or so, and unified again under Big E right before 30k. Or at least thats what i think happened, might be wrong. I know that merging these two settings is kinda far-fetched, i still like the idea, its just a small thing really, but sometimes i like to imagine some characters from one setting, placed into another and just wander about their reactions.
He's not insane. He's a hero fighting corporate tyranny. His methods might be wrong (literally nuking the city), but you can argue the ends justify the means in this case. Johnny was the best character in Cyberpunk. Not just because it is Keanu, but because how fucking badass he is and makes you feel when playing as him.
@@AmapianoOasis the ends would justify the means if the 4th Corporate War solved anything. Except it just made everything worse, and by 2077 Arasaka is more powerful than they ever were. Soon Militech will be too. There's an entire quest chain dedicated to showing Johnny died for naught
You kidding? That just makes it a reason for you to see it as something to celebrate about similar to any other subculture or the like! ❤ Rock on, Samurai.
People hated the original endings where V did not survive the relic. But what people do not understand that it was written like a TTRPG campaign where there is always a definite ending. Your character's adventures in TTPRGs come to an end eventually, and the unwritten rule is that you retire that character after a successful campaign. Phantom Liberty's endings kinda diluted that somewhat, but the core idea is still there. There will be no continuing V's adventures in sequels, because V's story had an ending like all the good stories have. V died/retired a legend of Night City no matter what ending you choose.
It actually goes in line with the majority of titles within the genre, not just the IP. Read the Sprawl Trilogy by William Gibson (the guy credited with originating the genre of Cyberpunk fiction, Mike Pondsmith made the TTRPG of course but the game is named after the genre.) cyberpunk genre fiction the trope is that your protag doesn't really get a happy ending. They either have a bad ending or just a "nothing really is worse but nothing's better either" ending.
I went with the Nomad ending most of the time, because as I played and watched V's story, I realized that they deserved a happy ending. Roaming freely away from Night City and finally being at peace with life. The thing that I always get hooked on with that ending is Misty's message to V during the credits. She says that she was reading her cards for V and saw that V would live. Now, I don't know if that meant live life to the fullest before dying, or finding a way to actually survive the Relic's effects. Obviously we can't really rely on that, but it gives some hope and a little happiness for V. But that's just my thoughts on it.
I beat this game back in around June of 2021. Despite the bugs and lags, this is a great goddamn game bro. The music , setting will forever live inside my head. I definitely plan on getting back to it again to test out all 3 life paths.
Hate to say it but the life paths have basically no difference besides the occasional dialogue option. What will change is whether you decide what ending you want.
The game is completely changing with the upcoming 1.7 update that drops just before the dlc. Nothing but great changes, if you’re gonna play it again I suggest wait until 1.7. One of the changes includes Active Police chases and reworked gameplay systems.
it's actually Yorinobu's tragedy. V and Johnny are irrelevant in the bigger scope of things, but Yorinobu, when we stop him uninentionally, is the one with capital trying to bring change.
The cello imo represents not Johnny's rage but his sorrow. It plays inside of the songs relating to Johnny's death and regrets. It plays not once during the first tower raid, UNTIL Alt dies. It plays inside the blackwall when Johnny meets Alt again. It plays when he storms the tower with Militech (canonically he was there to get her and had no plans of following their orders). Plays when you visit his grave, etc

Not to mention his over the top flashy but frankly sexy way of reloading
Ah yes, his gun. Feels like a handheld tank.
that mission and going to save Alt are actually 2 campaigns in cyberpunk the roleplaying game to teach people how to play it hahaha that was a nice touch for me

@@TwitchFusionz13 Absolutely, this game is banger regardless of its bug history
I discovered it very recently, thanks to Edgerunners which made me realise I did have an interest for the setting (when the game came out I couldn't have cared less). I get the game, mostly fixed, and I'm not finished with it yet but I'm loving every single second of it, and it's helping me through tough times as well.
The characters, dialogue, music, ambience, visuals, everything is great (I'd rate the gameplay as decent, not perfect but not bad so it doesn't detract from the rest) and makes you feel like it's a real world
Johnny Silverhand did nothing wrong.

I disagree so much
He didn’t, arasaka has been proven to be evil in the game, and that would would be so much better off without them

With all the chronic pain and shit I've been going through that's been keeping me from gaming like in the 2010s, this game finally made me feel like a badass again through the music and gameplay alone

I can also just imagine a bunch of Tech-priests oiling their robes when seeing so much technology to touch and disect.
For the emperor!
Hello my fellows 40k fans.

We'll meet again, don't know when - don't know where
People hated the original endings where V did not survive the relic. V died/retired a legend of Night City no matter what ending you choose.
damn. Bleak but i fucks with it.
To all chooms here;
We've just discovered what it takes to become a Legend
no matter what anyone says about cyberpunk 2077, the soundtrack turned out to be fucking awesome!

Yea
The game is completely changing with the upcoming 1.7 update that drops just before the dlc. Nothing but great changes, if you’re gonna play it again I suggest wait until 1.7. One of the changes includes Active Police chases and reworked gameplay systems.

The rage behind that cello.... itsbjust like Johnny, a calm facade, but one that will explode at any second.
