Ikr, the feeling, when you basically say "fuck you" to the choices presented, and decide to go out like a fucking legend, just as Johnny says. Best moment is, by far, the first guard, upon entry who realizes, that you are here and chose violence
I love that ending too because it scratches that itch in these types of videogames where I just want to go and get shit done myself. In gameplay terms, I'm practically a demigod. I don't need to go around gathering allies and asking folk for help, I could take on an army and not break a sweat. Learning that you can just go and kick down Arasaka's door and go apeshit was hype as all hell.
"There's a reason we remember them. "Because when faced with an impossible choice, they chose both, and they chose neither. I mean, a suicide run, guaranteed to kill them. "They chose to go down burning brighter than nuclear fire, and their flames burned so hot that Arasaka Tower collapsed before they did. 'saka claimed the body count was low, but we saw the cam feeds. There were bodies strewn from the door to the elevator. "Not one of them was theirs. "I don't know where they are now, but I do know that V didn't mean Vincent or Valerie or whatever. It meant Victory. Plain and simple. In an entire city of bad endings, they managed to do the one thing that no one else has managed before or since. "They won. "Went down burning like a fucking meteor, like so many before. And rose back up like a phoenix. *"I'd bet when the Reaper finally met 'em, they just asked why it took so long."*
Might I recommend, then, Little V's cover of Rebel Path? Wherein he slathers Doom Eternal style instrumentation all the hell over the song? "Wake up, Samurai! We a hole to punch through Mars."
The cello in the beginning man. It’s makes you feel like an old, grizzled ronin samurai that’s about to go on one last blood letting. Then the transition to the synth turns it into the “cyberpunk” aesthetic and its just so fucking perfect.

I can honestly imagine a cut scene with V walking up to arasaka tower in the rain, making sure their guns are loaded with the cello playing and right before they enter they spot their reflection in a puddle or mirror and instead of seeing themselves they see Johnny looking back at them which queues the synths to come in and they keep walking to the door and the drop hits right as they kick in the door and start firing
"He's not exactly the bogeyman.. He was the one you sent to kill the fucking bogeyman." Literally can't stop thinking this is techno John Wick OST level stuff here
Its hard to explain, but this song perfectly encapsulates Johnny Silverhand and the world of Cyberpunk as a whole. The quiet burn at the start as the Cello comes in and is completely foreign to the rest of the song's instruments, but perfectly fits; the sound of rebellion and the anger towards everything else around it, and then it kicks into the world of Cyberpunk: a perfect blend of sound as you feel the energy of the song starts up with dark synth. The gritty, industrial sound is almost normal standing overpowering to the cello at the start, just as Johnny is swept up in almost an instant. And yet, despite it all, the fire rages on as the song keeps building up its energy, as the deeds of what Johnny (and V) echo even in their failures. Mix all that with the heat of the moments when this songs comes on, being one of the few themes in the game that you can clearly hear over the gunfire with its synth and bass, just like how Johnny always takes center stage for Samurai and Kerry. It amps you up and attacks your senses, just like the constant sights and sounds of Night City, but you don't give in, you fight back and fight harder. Even in the moments when this song slows down between gunfights, you're given a moments respite, but the fire still burns as the cello comes back, even with its echos; you live to ignite the flame again, but you're already itching and ready for the next one. And then the song starts to kick back up before you're right back swept into the gunfire again. Whoever made this OST managed to encapsulate so much in one song, and I commend them. I could say more but this is all I could manage to cohesively put together.
My favorite thing is how that heavy beat throughout the song sounds like a gunshot. Whether you're Johnny or V attacking Arasaka, you're going in there shooting. That crushing beat represents every Saka ninja TKO'd with a bat, thrown blade or fired Malorian.
Rebel path from Cyberpunk, bury the light from Devil May Cry, and The Only Thing They Fear is You from Doom. These are the best video game OSTs ever man.
Fun Fact: Johnny never actually nuked Arasaka Tower, he was just a gunman meant as a distraction but because of his ego, his memories were warped to make him seem like the hero and that's why it sorta feels like super corny.

It’s impressive how good a job the music does to characterize Johnny at the moment of the Arasaka raid. Pure unbridled WRATH. Not the kind of rage or heat that goes away once you’ve cooled down. It’s the slow bitter cold boil of raw contempt for a world that has sown a whirlwind.

And not drag anyone down with me." - V "Huh, you just discovered what it takes to become a legend... Grab your iron - let's mobilize." - Johnny 3 quotes that send shivers down my spine
Listening to this while all the Arasaka elite security forces chatter goes from disbelief to panic to sheer terror as you keep tearing through everything they throw at you is one of the best gaming experiences of the past decade.
Cyberpunk is possibly my favorite game ever. In particular, it has this ability to really convey its tone and evoke strong feelings. So in gameplay I really appreciate 1 The way enemies will have adaptive dialogue to your build 2 By the end game the power scaling makes you unstoppable So when you do the secret ending and storm Arasaka tower alone, hell yeah I feel badass as soldiers scream "HE'S JUST ONE FUCKING MERC" before getting eviscerated
Agreeable, indeed! This game's OST is pretty on par with the depth of UT2004 OST. Borderlands 2 OST is another runner-up. It's rare to find absolute banging soundtracks in modern games anymore. I enjoy good music in games, it's a huge perk to them immersion. Bravo, CDPR!
I did heaps of research on this, even in the game files. There is no "cello version" of the song. It's all a misunderstanding lol. The electric cello/guitar we hear during the Silverhand mission is actually a sound effect (that is looped a few times) and dynamically integrated with The Rebel Path. So the finished product is a cool mix. But there is no "track" that has both of them together, since it varies for everyone depending on how long you take to progress the part after the cable shooting. Also, this video is 4:20. Nice.
PT Adamczyk (the composer) replied on twitter that it’s a variation on the original theme and that a full version could be released in the future. Though whatever that means he didn’t really elaborate further. Maybe this is what he meant, the full version doesn’t exist but it’s just a looped sound effect but could in the future?
twitter.com/ptadamczyk/status/1338969587635916800?s=20 "Hey, thanks for kind words! That’s one of many cues that didn’t make it to the album release. Maybe I will post it somewhere in January ;) Cheers Beer mug" I hope he's not just teasing us

Stroke of some sort of genius. I mean, they were going to die no matter what, right? They were a walking corpse. But Arasaka can't kill what's already dead, now can they?

Replace "Bogeyman" with "Cyber Bogeyman", and suddenly it feels like an in-game trivial lore.
