Or maybe not. Cyberpsychosis makes an individual attack indiscriminately. V, no matter how you play them, had an objective, which was to get to Mikoshi. It might look like a cyberpsycho at first, but then they'd start to realize that they were dealing with something much worse. I love that when you do try to taunt Smasher at the end of his life, Johnny - his sworn nemesis - tells you to stop messing with him and focus on the task at hand. All this time he's been saying that the one thing he wants is to see Smasher finished but when it comes down to it, he knows the most important thing for V is to get to Mikoshi so that he may live and then for Mikoshi itself to burn down in Alt's hands.
One of the most badass moment is when you do secret ending and you load in front of 'Saka tower, AI saying "Welcome to Arasaka", and a guard gestures you to stop, while Johnny is hyped and shows you full speed forward, you bring up your mantis blades and jump toward the guard, impaling him, and the fun starts. I got chills.
I agree. For me, when the guard stopped me, I just unleashed a full clip in him using Johnny's gun. After that, I went all out with his gun, cyberware and grenades.
Gotta say the ending where you leave with both panan and Judy is the best for me but being THE apex predator of nightcity is damn near beating it. Really gets the blood pumping and throws you into the killing spree of it all showing just how hard you can go.
That's the one thing I don't like about the Don't Fear the Reaper ending...that you can't leave Night City after. I like the idea of taking out Arasaka, then walking away.
i mean you become the apex predator in night city, not even corporations are safe from you AND you're still dying anyway, might seem hollow but V is the only person that could become a living legend in night city
Meanwhile, somewhere out of Night City Morgan Blackhand: You mean to tell me someone walked into arasaka, by them selves, and single handledly wiped out all of them? And destroyed Mikoshi? AND they killed Smasher!? Damn...he may just be better then I am. Maybe.
@jeffbrownstain Lol Blackhand couldn’t even do it with Multiple teams, Nukes and Millitech backing. No chance he pulls it off Solo. Blackhand’s got nothing on V.
@@jam2394yeah 2023 when Smasher was weaker… And again Blackhand had far more resources and superior backing. Blackhand at his Peak was supposedly the only one that could potentially match or beat Smasher. The only one considered his equal. V ends up straight superior to a more powerful version of Smasher. And that can be a V that’s got nothing but Kiroshi’s and a hand implant, that uses nothing but guns and their own skill. Blackhand was the superior mercenary you paid him to do a job and he got it done. V on the other hand can let their own personal feelings effect their choices on jobs they’ve been given. (This comes down to the player) But by the end V’s list of potential achievements that have them reach legend status straight up surpass Blackhand’s.
This ending was so inspirational. I love how they merged Johnny's theme with the title theme. It symbolized all things coming to fruition. The blaze of glory.
@@spiderz5145 It's actually fucking insane how strong V is in this ending. Killing Adam fucking Smasher while being basically paralyzed... I doubt there's anyone who can match this V in the entire world.
The heavy breathing of V, start of the rebel path, then walking into the hardest place in the game while having no save option gets me pumped everytime.
"My plan ? I say you grab the hottest iron you can find, stride in the Tower's front door and cut your way through to Mikoshi" - Johnny Silverhand, right before partying like it's 2023
I like the somewhat peaceful part at 2:20, like the worries are lifted from V's shoulders as they think of the sweet release of death, only to be plunged back into the aggressive parts of the song once they realize that going into Arasaka Guns Blazing might be the best option.
Imagine being the average arasaka soldier, gunning down a cyberpsycho charging you, and they just get the fuck back up and fry your friends implants, then gun you down and move on like it's nothing
In this ending, it's a mixed bag. In Don't Fear The Reaper, the personalities have truly fused. It's not Johnny anymore, but it's not V either. It's a genuine amalgam of the two. No coincidence that ending is only available if your synchronicity with Johnny is above a certain level.
"So, Johnny, how are we getting to Mikoshi? I mean, it's not like we can just walk right through the front doors, It can't be that easy." (2 seconds later, entering Arasaka with nothing but Johnny's Malorian Arms, the best sandevistan that money can buy, and a pair of mantis blades) "It's that easy."
V always had Cyberpsychosis. We, the players, we are his cyberpsychosis otherwise no one would be so damned enough to storm Arasaka on their own, but we are and we did.
Imagine being some "Elite" security guard working at Arasaka. Top of your grade, finally made it through the interview while 1,000 other people failed... Then some dude walks in the front door of Arasaka Tower on your shift, and the guy standing right next to you straight up explodes. Would be terrifying, especially for the other security guards near the end, where everyone except them is dead. I remember going through this ending, and some of the security guards were begging for mercy, while others straight up broke down saying "no no no no no, this isn't happening..."
On my first play through, I remember being on the phone and Johnny Silverhand randomly giving me this option out of nowhere. “Ohhhh I can avenge Johnny and David without involving others!?” Time to become unreasonable.
How terrified a guard must be for V to kill their two comrades in a flash, simply rush past them, and then look down to see "Hack Upload: 80% Completion"
That first Arasaka Agent I shot in the head with the Malorian when entering Arasaka HQ in full Silverhand get up as I activated my QianT Warp Dancer and went Cyberpsycho on the whole corp, all while Rebel Path plays in the background and Johnny Silverhand hypes you on is one of the top moments in gaming history :)
There’s nothing more fucking epic than V just walking into saka tower with a shotgun over their shoulder and going alone on a mission you’d normally need a small army for
The best ending. V gives in to the voices in his head, goes full cyberpsycho, and joins his imaginary friend in a solo assault on the heavily guarded headquarters of the most powerful megacorporation in the world... and wins.
Reminds me a bit of the theme that plays when you fight Gaunter o'Dim in witcher 3, gives off a simmilar vibe of going against something incomprehensibly more powerful than you.
the only thing it would have done this mission better it would be if you receive a call from you friends and people you know saying about what is happening in arasaka. they missed the opportunity
That’s the point of this mission tho it’s to save everyone and anyone you love from you and this suicide mission, V wanted to be a night city legend and after Jackie dies is a realisation he has to do it on his own but not only for himself but Johnny too
My favorite part of the level is that half of the guards were extremely confused by V blasting through them all single handedly and the other half were crying and begging for mercy. Makes you really feel like an unstoppable badass
The Rebel Path is like Cyberpunk's equivalent of Proof of a Hero, every time I hear it ingame it gets me pumped up to beat some ass no matter how dire the circumstances
4:50 is easily the best part of the song, calming yet still goes hard when you’re slicing and dicing through the ‘saka troops like a hot knife through butter. Honestly when going through this ending every time I heard this part I can’t help but jam out a lil IRL.
To me this should be the lore accurate finale. It does both a good job of wrapping up the game's ending and gives the player and absolute power fantasy so I feel like it satisfies both audiences well.
Suicide ending: neither me or Johnny are worth the other's lives. Devil: Its my only chance, they an save me. nomad ending: i may die eventually, but i will be free with my friends. rouge ending: time to bring the legend back to night city, for one last gig! Tower: i just want him out of my head, i NEED him out, just so i can live! DFTR: fuck it, we ball.
what i love about this ending is that even Silverhand was so engaged in saving V that he didn't even cared about Smasher he just wanted V to get to Mikoshi and save himself asap and saw Smasher as an obstacle and not as his objetive for revenge.
Considering the alternative was waiting for the relic to kill you or sticking a gun in your mouth... storming Arasaka Tower even for the smallest chance at salvation is really the safe choice, here.
“If I gotta die, I wanna fall into my grave gun in hand and on fire, I don’t want to drag anyone down with me” - V before storming Arasaka singlehanded, with Johnny as moral support
Just imagine how insane this is to everyone else in NC. A rising star turns out to be a meteor, just up on a random day walk into Arasaka Tower. This merc then proceeds to massacre their way into the bowels of the tower with no one in the most powerful company in the city able to stop them. Then the #1 living legend Adam Smasher comes in to clean up this mess. And he gets his ass Zero'd. And if all goes well the merc just waltz out after all of Arasaka's Net runners and security suddenly flatline. less than 3 hours the entire political landscape of NC is a mess.
I command you for this mix, kudos. This is the real musical feeling you get when you go on Arasaka Tower. A hastily decision on the path of glory, A heart racing, mind bent on revenge And the nostalgic cello as the second Night City Holocaust takes place
This ending goes even harder when you send jackie to vic, finding out the truth after the raid. No wonder V wouldnt want anyone else to get hurt because of them, the only person that is lost in The Reaper ending is Jackie.
Other endings: "I shall use the friends and contacts I have gained to strategically make my way to Mikoshi."

One of my favorite parts for this bit is when the Saka guards start completely collapsing under your charge, they start panicking and screaming and calling for backup and you get this whole feel from the song of V Terminator Walking through Arasaka HQ reflecting bullets off metallic skin with steady pings and answering in kind with torrents of gunfire.

Just my take though.
Really gets the blood pumping and throws you into the killing spree of it all showing just how hard you can go.
to me the panam ending with Judy is letting go of the city and finding some happiness and this one is a hollow victory (but epic nonetheless)
That's the one thing I don't like about the Don't Fear the Reaper ending...that you can't leave Night City after. I like the idea of taking out Arasaka, then walking away.

(This comes down to the player)
But by the end V’s list of potential achievements that have them reach legend status straight up surpass Blackhand’s.
This ending was so inspirational. I love how they merged Johnny's theme with the title theme. It symbolized all things coming to fruition. The blaze of glory.

Like Shiva mastering the great snake and becoming god.
the only thing it would have done this mission better it would be if you receive a call from you friends and people you know saying about what is happening in arasaka. they missed the opportunity
a bunch of calls that all go along the lines of “V! What the fuck are you doing?!”

There's nothing that gets me going than walking into Arasaka tower and For Whom The Bell Tolls starts playing.

I like the cello toward the middle/end, not at the beginning of other tracks. The in-game got it right.
To me this should be the lore accurate finale. It does both a good job of wrapping up the game's ending and gives the player and absolute power fantasy so I feel like it satisfies both audiences well.

The moment V walked through the gate was the moment V truly became a legend.
Considering the alternative was waiting for the relic to kill you or sticking a gun in your mouth... storming Arasaka Tower even for the smallest chance at salvation is really the safe choice, here.

The best feeling was talking to Mr Blue Eyes after in The Sun ending and he talks about that day as “the day you TKO’d Arasaka out of Night City”
Shame that this ending you end up alone......
Noone left, just like mission it self you become living legend of night city and you are alone.
I command you for this mix, kudos. This is the real musical feeling you get when you go on Arasaka Tower.
A hastily decision on the path of glory,
A heart racing, mind bent on revenge
And the nostalgic cello as the second Night City Holocaust takes place
This ending goes even harder when you send jackie to vic, finding out the truth after the raid. No wonder V wouldnt want anyone else to get hurt because of them, the only person that is lost in The Reaper ending is Jackie.
