About the strap, off camera, I did try the Kiwi Elite but the sides were too big to fit my headphones over. Thank you so much for the mountain of recommendations! Thanks for the sub and kind words. I feel blessed because only 2 days ago I was sitting stagnant at 164 subs. Thank you! Yes I wish I could afford the Q3. Diversified financial goals right now. Is the Q3 display more clearer in the distance? On my Q2, it's kinda blurry pixelated in the distance. Hard to play F1 23 in VR. it's cool but I can't really see far. It's almost like a heatwave in the distance obscuring view.
@@beyond_xen The pancake lenses in the quest 3 make the image that you're getting from standalone meta games, or PCVR games clear from edge to edge. The Fresnel lenses in the Quest 2 have a sweet spot that quite a bit smaller, and if your IPD doesn't line up with one of the 3 presets on it a lot of games will look blurry on the edges of the image. Quest 3 also has a sliding IPD adjustment to fine tune the IPD. As someone suggested, I too would say to get a BOBO M2 pro headstrap with the batteries, yes your gaming headphones will fit over it I wear my x32 headphones over my headset because they are higher quality audio than the built in speakers. I also have prescription lens inserts so I don't have to wear my glasses in VR.

Well, it's a great deal for me. Due to diversified financial goals, I settled for the Q2. Knowing I can upgrade later. I would have ended up spending around $400 more with all that I wanted to buy. My friend Jeremy has a really old Oculus, and he has had a great time with his games. I rarely buy the latest and greatest stuff. I can't keep up with everything because I've got gaming and music as hobbies. And there are other things that are taking my interest (and money).
@beyond_xen completely get that for you. I'm an artist and musician as well. I just feel for people who buy late in the product life cycle not knowing that a quest 2 replacement is coming from meta soon (quest 3s). same thing happened to me with the jump from quest 1 to 2. Those sales really show corporate greed and desperation
@@rapidey3movement360 Guess we'll see what happens then now that I have it. .. I'm thankful I finally have something. I had saved up multiple times for the Q3 but stuff in life kept coming up. I was eager to get into VR for over a year before finally buying this Q2.

It's good to learn as I am a newbie at this. I have since found possible purchase options I could have made for the case and knuckle grips.
Yes, you are right about the case. Wish I hadn't bought it because the VR headset does just find on my shelf. haha oh well. You live and learn. But I guess it will be a nice thing to have when I resell the Q2 once I'm ready to upgrade.
I had actually thought a lot about the Headstrap and was undecided. I did end up buying the Kiwi Elite and tried it off camera. But it wouldn't fit with my headphones I wear when I play. So it makes me think most straps will have that bulk problem. So it's more of a compatibility problem. And believe it or not, I don't terribly mind the default if I'm stuck with it.

all those official accessories, almost couldda got a Q3.
Thank you sir! Well, I wasn't confident in buying a non-official link cable for my PCVR. And because of the sale, I only spent $50 more on the accessories. :) I had calculated I would have to spend at least $300 more to get what I wanted in the Q3. Due to other life goals I decided to make the compromise for now.
Who knows? An upgrade to a Q3 might be in my future with all of the recommendations from you guys.
Congrats on your VR experience! Thank you for the warm welcome!
@@beyond_xen have fun!!
I love seeing people use VR for the first time, I'd love to see how mind blown you'd be from the quest 3. Not that you need it right now of course
Thank you. I look forward to having the Q3 or something better one day when I can afford it. Thankful to be experiencing VR.
This is exactly how I reacted when I first got my quest 2. Though mine started me off in a desert environment, and I haven't used the PC linking functionality yet.
Cool to hear I'm in the same club as you =D
bro you deserve more subscribers I just found your channel and never found someonbe with so much enthusiam and energy which is a welcome change of pace in the youtube lanscape also as a vr veteran get some comfortable headstraps i personally dont enjoy the jock strap my meta quest 3 came with but hey who knows you might and also rechargable batteries are a must for controllers
Thank you for the heartwarming comment! I have since bought some rechargeable AAs for my controllers :-) And if I can find a third party head strap that works with my gaming headphones then that will be cool! I tried the kiwi Elite and it didn't work because the sides were too bulky and I couldn't fit over my ear cups.
@@beyond_xen BoboVR will change your life it’s my go to for playing my meta quest 3 and I went for the battery strap but they have a normal one as well
"I know there's cheaper stuff, but I'm just going to get the official because then I know it's good" cries in elite strap
One of us! One of us!
Yay! I feel so welcomed and humbled in this new community!
Ive been in VR for roughly 5 years now (i think) launch of quest 1 all the way to now my Quest 3.
I still never get bored of seeing first time reactions into VR! And love putting friends and family into it!
(Also been watching the Alyx videos 🤘😁🤘)
Thank you so much Beatz! I'm happy to hear you've been enjoying the Alyx videos. I enjoy reading everyone's comments. It lets me know people are watching and having a good time. So thank you.
It's cool to hear about other people's VR journeys too.
@@beyond_xen your welcome dude 👊 youve defo only just broke the surface of how insane and amazing the VR world is!
I prefer it to the real world 🤘🤣
Defo plan for a Quest 3 becuase the upgrade is insane... and if your mind is blown with VR, wait till uoi experience some of what the MR (mixed reality) stuff has to offer.
Its like experiencing VR for the first time all over again!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to an upgrade one day. I do think I will have its own content to be enjoyed once I upgrade. I need more income. lol
VR is a cool experience. Especially if you try it the first time. After a while you get used to it. I also had the Quest 2 and switched to Quest 3. The biggest difference are the Lenses. Everywhere you look is as Sharp as the middle, its much more comfortable for the Eyes. And yes Passthrough is also alot better. I also would recommend you get a Elite Strap with Battery or 3. Party Bobo m2 pro because the Original Strap is much more uncomfortable.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Q3. 🤩
I remember my first vr experience
My buddy told me to buy a quest 2 and i am glad i did. In my time living alone 1 hour away from all ppl i knew, vrchat is what kept me sane. Espacelly in vovid time. Now a days im on q3 and play on a pc at 120hz all the time. And it still wows me when i start playing a new game. And for a cool nativ experience i recommend vrchat, demeo and asgards wrath 2
Thank you for the recs and for sharing your experience!
Hi, I LOVE watching to people react to VR for first time and your video was very good. I cant believe you only have 262 subs because the quality of your videos is insane.
Here you have a list of games you HAVE to play:
- The Walking Dead Saints and Sinners chapter 1 and 2
- Lone Echo 1 and 2
- Stormland
- Half Life 2: VR mod and the episode 1 and 2 vr mod too (these mods were officially approved by valve on steam) and obviously Half Life alyx
- Red Matter 1 and 2
- Vertigo Remastered and Vertigo 2
- Wanderer
- The 7th Guest.
- Beat Saber
- Pistol Whip
- Boneworks
- Contractors Showdown.
- Hubris
- Eleven Table Tennis
- I expect you to die
- SuperHot VR
- Warhammer Age of Sigmar tempestfall
- Star Wars: Tales from the galaxy edge and the DLC (the DLC is even better)
- Walkabout mini golf
- Genotype
- Moss 1 and 2
- Apex Construct
- Assasins creed nexus
- Medal of Honor above and beyond
- Asgard wrath 2
- Resident evil 4 vr
- The room vr: A dark matter
- Arizona Sunshine 2
- Defector
- Asetto Corsa
If you need more games just ask me haha, there are a lot more but these ones are the best IMO
Btw, new sub, I will check all the VR content you upload!
Thank you so much for the mountain of recommendations! Thanks for the sub and kind words. I feel blessed because only 2 days ago I was sitting stagnant at 164 subs. I posted two VR videos and I got a volcano of views as if someone violently shook a bottle of kombucha and opened the lid! I only had one other video that did that (Titanic walkthrough) but it wasn't near as quick.
@@beyond_xen haha, VR is a niche but we are all like a family and when we see a new family member we all go to give our support xD
And hope you can take a look on those games I recommended, all those are very good and you will enjoy them a lot
This is a great list!
@@LARVideos thanks!
i've never been in vr and although i wish too
this still looks very cool..
Yes, nothing could prepare me for the experience! I hope you are able to try it one day.
I feel like you're already enjoying this!
Haha! Yes! =D I'm like a child with a new toy! A friend of mine said it best: It's next level.
Dang can't believe your first experience is Quest 2 the difference between quest 3 and 2 is completely worth the price.
I'm pleased to hear it is worth the price. I went back and forth about it for a while. I just had a hard time justifying it right now. Everyone's situation is different. The way I see it, in the future I will be able to experience an upgrade in clarity like you guys have. 😃
@@beyond_xen stay away from any Simulator gaming (racing and flying specifically) the amount of money they can suck from you is mindblowing even more than the experience itself 😅
Aw dang, I have F1 23 on my desktop saved for later. I think I bought that with a gift card though. I saw it was VR compatible. Noted! I'll be careful :D
i just got a meta quest 2 only two weeks ago you should buy blade and sorcery and ghost of tabor!!!!!!
Congratulations! Have fun with your Q2! Thanks for the recommendation!
I love uojr reaction discovering vr trpugh metaquest 2, i think it would be the quest 3 you would had an heart attack, sith the mr features etc
Yeah man I can't wait to see what the Quest 3 looks like. Thanks!
I subbed, not just cause of your great video, but because you're a Half-Life fan!
Hey thank you! You might enjoy all my Half Life playthroughs I did, as well as Portal RTX. Thanks for the sub and watching. I'm currently uploading Alyx playthroughs.
@@beyond_xen I love tuning into some of your gameplays. They're great and entertaining! Keep it up!
Meta 3 is next level
Quest 3 is night and day difference with clarity
Looking forward to seeing it one day I hope.
W vid bro. I just wanna tell you that quest 2 will be out of support in 2027 but all of us, quest 2 users will be defineitly able to buy the quest 3
Thank you. Good to know. I plan on having upgraded by then. I just wanted to get straight into VR because I needed a new phone, got some bills and repairs, etc.
@@beyond_xen yeah same i didnt have money for the quest 3
Go to 6:52 and look at his arms.
👀
i have one too its amazing i love it
Welcome to VR, if you're looking for some other games, or some discord servers with a bunch of VR players on it let me know, you're really gonna want a quest 3 :)
@@dread_yt okay. So edge to edge more so, and not so much better pixel density in the distance?
@@beyond_xen it’s still better in the distance, because the quest 3 has higher resolution than the quest 2, but you have to weigh in if you want more performance, or a steady 90htz refresh rate
@@dread_yt Yeah because I'm having issues running higher settings in Alyx even with a 3080. Can't get the occasional frame skips to go away. I imagine the Q3 would push it further then with PCVR.
I dont have a pc but I have a ps5 so for my first one will be the psvr2 even though it aint cheap I've been saving up
That sounds fun! I told an older gentleman at my church, who's a gamer also, about that PSVR2. He's never tried VR but has played a lot of adventure first person shooter games.
That was fun to watch, ha!
Thanks for watching Mom! 💙 Glad you had fun!
Virtuel desktop instead of that cable and you will be amazed hiw much sharper the games are
I'll have to try that some time. I've heard about VD a few times online.
Welcome
Welcome to the madness 😂 have fun 😊
Thank you
8:55 the what now???
The "binch" is how we in the south say it. 🤣 I thought someone would say something. 😆
@@beyond_xen Ooh, i thought it was an accent, i just wanted to know. I really liked the video! I think your videos are very good and that you are very underrated. Keep up the good work!!
@@DAN_BLUEYT Thank you so much! =D Yeah, born and raised in the south of the USA. Some parts of the south say "beench" which I think is hilarious. I have found that excitement and fear brings out my southern accent a lot more.
have fun injoin vr
Thank you! I shall have lots of fun!
That was cool!
Thanks Dad! Coon6!
My first experience was the vr2 which is better quality than the meta . Should have gone for that .
Interesting. I personally haven't had a console since PS2. But I guess I'm more of a PC guy these days. I do love the PlayStation though.
@@beyond_xen sony will be adding pc support for the vr2 at a later date .
Good vid and Now try Contractor$ aka cod vr, best vr shooting game
Thank you. Someone else also recommended that one. Maybe I will some time.
So I guess you're gonna do a Half Life Alyx Let's Play now? haha
EDIT: Seems you have!
Yes, and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you all! Next is going to be Lone Echo I think.
i hoped you enjoyed yourself
you should definitely try bonelab/boneworks
I plan to one day. Thanks!
Hey can you play gorilla tag also known as a gtag it’s 20dollars on steam and it’s free on quest 2 that u have

This is the problem with late gen sales. New comers think they're getting a good deal when their device is about to immediately become obsolete
I just mean that now is a REALLY bad time to buy a quest 2. It's really better to wait for a bit
@@rapidey3movement360 Guess we'll see what happens then now that I have it. .. I'm thankful I finally have something. I had saved up multiple times for the Q3 but stuff in life kept coming up. I was eager to get into VR for over a year before finally buying this Q2.
@@rapidey3movement360 Thanks for the feedback. It's a good learning experience for me. Just means that next time I will have to push further and buy the latest and greatest to make up for this =D
wait..dont take this the wrong way but you 32...im 34 Dx kidding but nice...welcome to vr
Lesson one for vr never buy meta products but the headset
Thank you. For my next purchase, do you have recommendations for link cables that will work as well as the fiber optic from Meta? I saw mixed reviews. I appreciate the feedback. It's good to learn as I am a newbie at this. I have since found possible purchase options I could have made for the case and knuckle grips.
@@beyond_xenif u dont travel then the case is wasted money. I own Q3 since release and it sits in the original box just fine.
Yes, you are right about the case. Wish I hadn't bought it because the VR headset does just find on my shelf. haha oh well. You live and learn. But I guess it will be a nice thing to have when I resell the Q2 once I'm ready to upgrade.
Lol youll wan a quest 3 in about a week
I wanted the Q3 from the beginning. But we can't have everything. I can always upgrade later.
You bought all those accessories and forgot the most important one, the headstrap! For the love of god change the default headstrap!
You should play gorilla tag
Quest 2 better especially battery life the only thing I like about the quest 3 is less pixels you see and pass through has color I have one well both of them
I will admit the battery troubles for the Quest 3 did have me worried.
@@beyond_xen o smh bro but hopefully they can do something about it
Play gorilla tag
