First time playing the Metro francise! I bought this from Steam for PCVR, but having sporadic frame drops just like I did when I first started playing Half Life Alyx. I'll have to update NVIDIA drivers again to see if that helps my Quest 2 perform better. It's a stutter that I mostly only see in my headset even when not recording. In case that doesn't help, any ideas?
First tip would always be using VD as their own runtime works better than steamVR most of the time, also their discord has an optimal driver for nvidia and amd which i guess applies to VR games in general and not just VD. Also I think frame drops in here arent that weird since the game is technically just an upscaled quest 3 port that probably wasnt properly optimized
metro awakening isnt great optimization wise so it might not be your drivers or anything else. ironically its optimized better on quest but it runs at 36fps reprojected
@@duoduos9221 To be fair its more optimized on quest because thats what it was created on, they just slid their resolution scaler up and threw it on PC, still a great tho, if you have the hardware and are prepared for some issues xD
I LOVE your energy, I love that you stick around and listen to the conversations as well as connecting with the characters. Stick with it, listen to the lore and the story, the story tends to be amazing with these games. The dialogue is the main reason with that. We love to see you react to it! You will LOVE this series, I hope you end up playing the flat screen versions.

Funny story, I played the last Metro game before this and later I said, what if there was a Metro VR game? And just 2 weeks later Metro Awakening was announced. It's pretty cool to see mechanics from the mainline games translated into VR. Also, performance issues aren't just happening to you, they happen to all of us. But this year is going strong for VR games, which is really needed to bring VR into the mainstream gaming world. We have more than enough hardware options, but sadly many big titles aren't even brought over to VR so people start considering VR for gaming
PS: I love the level design. It's linear, but doesn't feel like it. And with minimal visual clues you're not lost but also not taken by the hand with big glowing neon signs pointing at the next door or target indicators.
I personally like to listen to all the dialog whilst playing, but feel free to cut out unnecessary dialog from the playthough if you wish. Need to keep playing this then so you don't catch up! Not that that's an issue - it's a good game 😊
I hope that you continue to enjoy the game as well on your own time and I appreciate you continuing to keep up with my videos. It sounds like dialogue is normal for this type of adventure so I'm going to try to stop worrying about people getting bored. I think the low watch time are just people that click away near the beginning. Maybe that's normal for Let's Plays. I'll bet that most people that stay to watch the video pretty much watch the entire thing. I'm going to learn to enjoy the game like I did with Red Matter.

Yeah I did have a fleeting thought that it looked a little bit arcadey while I was shooting all of the nosalis creatures with the mini gun. I understand we all have preferences when it comes to games.
You obviously have not played flatscreen metro please play at minimum metro 2033 and metro last light as they are best of the series and the last proper metro game but ive played all 3 and they are great games and metro awakening stands up to the greatness of metro❤

@basketballbeast755 exodus is barely a metro game most of the whole game takes place outside the metro and it's a open world yeah not really that much of a metro game also Naw it's kinda crappy compared to 2033 and last light still love all 3 games but outa the 4 metro games sofar released including awakening I'd rank exodus at the bottom in everything but graphics as it feels like a massive departure from the other 2 games and open world just doesn't fit that well with metro also far more human contact and different vibe

There was still ENOUGH of metro in exodus, exploring bunkers and dark caves, just with the freedom to be outside more. Characters were fleshed out and you actually cared about the spartan team. And to top it all off, for the whiny people saying it’s not a metro game, the game still gives actual metro tunnels that I won’t spoil where incase beyond reads it. I don’t want to insult you, I just disagree completely with your opinion I guess. Last light was better then 2033 and then Exodus was better than last light and metro 2033. You gotta love a trilogy that gets better with each release. Exodus is better in every way than the last games.
I feel you. This is how to turn on smooth turn: Locomotion - Profile - (change to Custom) - Method should be set to Continuous. Then scroll down to Rotation Method and set to Continuous. Set everything else in this submenu to your preference. :)
Now my technical issues of the occasional frame stutter seems so small. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I know that must be frustrating. Technical issues always frustrate and take me out of the experience. Crashes are infuriating. I remember refunding a Star Wars adventure game once because the character would bug out all of the time when he moved. I hope they release a patch or that you are able to get to the bottom of why the game crashed out on you. I'm glad I'm still on Windows 10. I hear people on 11 have gaming issues all the time. Hopefully that's not your issue though. To happen on two systems is sad. Wish I knew how to help.

I hope the extra pixels doesn't push my GPU too hard for PCVR. I may have to simply turn down the eye candy when recording. This game has me at nearly pegged out GPU utilization while recording because of how beautiful it is.
@beyond_xen and that's why us VR enthusiast prefer a direct to digital display cable directly into the GPU because we get the most out of it that way. Less stutters.
this game truly was a disappointment. all i see is ytbers like u overreacting to the game. No true reflections. 90 percent is baked in lighting. atmosphere feels low quality. so many graphical issues it makes you want to take the headset off

Into the boredious was dead. Resident evil in VR was great, Arizona sunshine a decent experience, racing Sims in VR are brilliant too , storm lands, one of the best be games ever. And beat saber is a VR must have. Metro does nothing new and nothing better than any other VR game
This title is pure junk!! I refunded this crap. Janky, stutters, too dark and no adjusting it, drifting in game play and just not worth 40.00 dollars! 9.99 is more like it.

Don, You can actually adjust brightness in settings. I'm sure that they will have to patch some bugs. Unfortunately that is the deal with a lot of studios these days.

I’m on level 3 love the game and the dialogue is only at the start really. I’m playing on pc with a 3060TI. This game is in my top 5 so far..

I hate that I had to get a refund. It's not working on my Pc with 3090 or my laptop with 4090. Crashes in the menu all the time.
