    The Conway Stewart, a beautiful and well made fountain pen indeed. You described that beautifully.
    Which I cherish and use daily. I do have the Churchill heritage "Victory At All Cost" version in the blue color and also with a medium nib. This comes in a replica Winston Churchill's Red Cabinet Box, these are the brief cases used by ministers of the British Government to carry official paper. That makes the whole so appealing to the imagination and gives you food for thought.
    Well, this one deserves a well-deserved place in my collection.

    I recently watched this review of the Conway Stewart Churchill fountain pen. The review is extremely well done. It is interesting, includes relevant historical information, and is informative. To say it is above average as far as reviews go is an understatement. It is quite clear from watching the video that you put an enormous amount of time, effort and thought into the video. It is very creative. Conway Stewart was fortunate to have you review the pen.
    You have been most diplomatic and kind regarding the “misunderstanding” that occurred subsequent to the review. Your handling of the situation speaks volumes as to your character. For such a great review, the least Conway Stewart could do is to let you keep the pen.

Yes, so I did flooring to work my way through college and when you trowel grout or glue, you keep an eye on the edge and you push the material along in a specified pattern so you don’t get over extended or apply it uneven. I have a vintage vac (Parker Vacumatic) and a vintage lever filler (Conway Stewart 475). They're both a pain in the neck to flush, and the ink sac in the Parker has come unsealed, meaning it only sucks air when I try to fill it, and I have reservations about sending it off to be repaired. I'm seriously considering a CS Churchill - if I can decide what nib to go with on a pen I'll only ever own one of - but as much as I love the aesthetic (and probably a more robust lever assembly compared to its 80 year-old cousin) of the Churchill lever filler, I think I'm opting for the 'captive' (basically a piston) filler version.

  • @johntoledo4438
    @johntoledo4438 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Beautiful! Does the section unscrew when the sac needs to be replaced? Is it shellac? I've been curious if they made any changes in that regard with the modern version. Is that something they document?

    Lever fill is OK if you only stick to one ink but is my least favourite filling system as you get relatively little ink, no matter how well done it feels more fragile, I just think it should have died out years ago, much better to have either CC or piston.
    I must admit I do think the new ones are a bit too expensive for what you get but I do love my vintage example in celluloid but being lever fill I just use it with one ink. I do think as well they use the Churchill connection a bit too much, a bit on the nose.

    Beautiful pens. I looked at the C.S. website, built up a pen, but the shipping charge knocked me over. To ship a pen to WA from C.S., the price came up to $75 for DHL. Royal mail, which isn't the best and definitely the slowest, was still over $30. The prospect of adding nearly $100 to the price of an expensive pen just puts it at a 'no' for me. I'll keep an eye out on sale boards or so before I get one.

    • @HemingwayJones

      Hi Sergio, You can ask any question at any time about anything to me no matter how difficult or awkward. You are welcome, My Friend. I am completely transparent.
      No, this one is not sponsored. I just love this pen. In fact the commentary was taken from my LIVE from back in December. I occasionally do LIVE pen reviews and I chose this one for the first.
      I did the first video on this one as Sponsored and clearly labeled it as such, but that one shouldn’t have been due to a misunderstanding. I thought they were giving me the pen in exchange for that video. Once that video was done, my responsibility to them was done. However, it turns out that they want me to buy that pen, so it’s not even sponsored. Oh well. No way to change that designation now and it probably hurt my views.
      I will say that I don’t see how this video differs from any other review I have ever done. There are many pens that I speak about all the time on this channel. This channel is an on-going conversation about my experience with pens. How many have I done on the 149? I literally did an homage video to it with fanfare music! How many videos have I done on the 146, the TWISBI Eco, the Lamy Safari, the Kaweco Brass Sport?
      If something is sponsored, you will know. I will make it abundantly clear.
