    A Porsche is always a step above BMW, Mercedes and Audi. To me, it's always a head turner.

    • @xorbitman
      @xorbitman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I disagree, Porsche doesn't have anything that compares to any of those manufacturers that you mentioned in a 4 door sedan. Taycan and Panamera aren't really that nice.

    • @82dupont
      @82dupont 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      VW owns Porsche and Audi, the Cayenne is essentially a Q7, uses the same platform, transmission, electrical components, if you get the Cayenne with a V6, you are getting a Q7 with Porsche badging and price, since the same engine is available for both cars.
      Only reason to get Porsche is if you get the V8 Twin Turbo, then it’s a Q7 with a more powerful engine.

    • @PamirAFG
      @PamirAFG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@82dupont that's false, the same platform is used for Bentley SUV, it's all about suspension, engine and transmission tuning. Btw the transmission is made by a Japanese company, they make same transmission for Toyota. So you can't say that it's similar to Toyota truck etc. Lots of shared parts indeed with other cars which is a great thing when you source parts or fluids, it makes owning a Cayenne much more affordable when you do your own wrenching.
      Cayenne is on another level in terms of interior, handling and quality.

    • @82dupont
      @82dupont 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PamirAFG …So you tell me it’s false then you go on to say that they share the same transmission, parts and platform which makes it more affordable to get parts for guys who wrench their own?
      The MLB-EVO platform is shared by 13 of VW models, which include the Cayenne, Touareg the Q7.
      I’m not saying that the Porsche is not going to have it’s own personality and interior design that set it apart, however when you realize that VW is sharing many components between it’s Toureg, Audi and Porsche lines, it kind of takes away the special feeling of owning a Porsche. That’s just my opinion.

    • @PamirAFG
      @PamirAFG 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@82dupont I said false to your assumption that Cayenne is essentially a q7. sharing parts doesn't make it essentially the same, if that's the case then Bentley SUV is also a q7

    I like the placement of the cupholders in the centre console, relative to the controls in that centre console. So many cars assume that no one will actually HAVE drink cups in the cup holders when using the controls. That should be a standard part of your reviews - put something like Starbucks Venti coffee cups into every cup holder there, and THEN see how easy/practical it is to actually use the controls (be they buttons, touchpads, wheels, etc).

    Nice review as always! Cayenne is the best SUV in the segment in my opinion but I'd have to say the real fun starts with the S model. It's worth the step up in a big way and really transforms the 4,800 hundred pound SUV! Turbo is amazing but it's got a big price tag to boot and probably is a bit overkill with 550 hp It's still a luxury SUV. Just read the Car and Driver review on the S and see for yourself what they have to say. Definitely get the air suspension and rear axel steering it transforms the SUV.! Cheers.

Not only on reliability but my car seems to have been tuned really well to balance the power and handling. My car is not a powerhouse but the software just matches the shifts and the handling so that it seems to be intuitive. As you said, it is a rewarding drive. One request on your test of SUVs, or any other car, is whether you can show how a set of golf clubs fit in? I'm an addicted golfer and that is one of my car buying metrics. 😂😂😂

      I agree 100% I've been trying to find a 2014 - 2016 low mileage Boxster or Boxster S in any color except black or dark blue in SW Florida for the last 2 years. Preferably red or white. They're beautiful and according to Consumers Reports and JD Power Porsche quality is still one of the best! A used Corvette Stingray C8 is selling for almost double what the MSRP is and they've had a lot of quality issues including exploding engines due to transmissions problems, so much so that GM themselves have launched an internal investigation!

    How reliable were the two Porsches you’ve owned? I’m looking at going from Japanese luxury to German luxury and worried about reliability.

    Sadly the only new Cayenne I may be buying is the pepper. Beautiful vehicle though.

    I plan to order one and will probably keep 5-10 years. Is it worth including the air suspension? The cost to repair scares me but I also like a softer ride. Also wonder about thoughts on the hybrid? After all, once you spend over $100,000 on a car who cares about gas consumption! And I am writing this as oil rises over $100! Seems to me the cost of maintaining a hybrid will be crazy as it gets older. Cheers!

      I have air suspension on our GTS with PDCC. If you get PASM, that makes a difference without air suspension. Not a fan of the hybrid.

    Great review, great car! The car price in CA/US is so sweet for car lovers. From Vietnam, due to the exclusive tax for imported-cars, we must pay at least x3 times for this Porsche Cayenne, fyi.

    I Love the Cayenne, would love to own 1 in the future. What is the cost of maintenance for this vehicle? I know that all Porsche vehicles handle awesomely. I can only dream....

    Finally a Cayenne I definitely LOVE.. The previous Cayenne shapes(Although subjective) have been boring. Hence why I prefer the Macan.
    Great video my Canadian Fam. Have a great, warm, and safe weekend!!

    This seems like a relative good value compared to it's rivals and from what they say about reliability it inspires some confidence but maintenance is my main concern. What does it need to keep it in good to excellent running condition? Like this isn't a Toyota. German engineering sounds amazing to experience but what are fair expectations in terms of additional cost to maintenance and visits to your dealership? That's the main cause for pause with me but otherwise this seems to have it all. Great video. Thank you!

    I wonder though if you walked into the dealer and tried to order the base model with no options would they just escort you out the door?

    FYI oil changes cost $300 American. This is a money pit long term but a must have if you want to fit in with the rich.

    22 platinum edition, you would think by now they would get rid of the stupid cigarette lighter, add a spot to put your phone, and a normal center console with actual space. It’s holds nothing and it’s so far back I can’t even open it while driving and certainly cannot use the charger station especially since it’s too far back AND you have to leave the console open. The drive is nice sure but spending so much time driving you need these “little things” to make it a smoother and enjoyable drive, just as much as the functionality of the car itself. In my opinion of course. And the tailgate never recognizes my foot. I end up looking like an idiot so I don’t use that. Did I mention voice command sucks??
