    Do you think dealers spec cars like this just to showcase the odd bits you can have on a Porsche? I can't imagine spending so much on so little.

    • @mdjak3686

      I am guessing that’s an owner’s car, not the dealer’s lot car. May be wrong however.

    Nick, great video. Tell me how does the Cayenne with Tiptronic compare to a PDK in a Macan or Panamera? Do you notice any difference? Crazy options on this car. I was never a fan of carbon fiber.

    Thank you Nick for another great video. I am the guy that sent you the pictures of the red 911 earlier this year. My car is very lowly optioned, I am in your camp I just do not see the value in so many of Porsche’s options. Some of them are nice but not at the price. I guess some Porsche owners have more money than they know what to do with.

  • @drewk8601
    @drewk8601 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Gotta also "love" how Porsche only offers the really sharp looking black/silver houndstooth (pepita) patterned seating option on the coupe models -- oh, and only after you pony up for one of the Lightweight Sport Packages...

  • @trevormacdougall9385
    @trevormacdougall9385 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Beautifully produced video, Nick. My goodness, I love Porsche as much as the next person, but even people with means don't want to be ripped off. Some of these options are ridiculous in terms of price. One would never recoup them upon resale. Makes me think I will continue to drive my 2009 Cayenne S with zero bells an whistles, but with a natch asp V8 and 120,000 Kms that cost me 28 grand :)

  • @doggedlydetermined7022

    141k for this seems outrageous, even with all the options. I would lose all the carbon fiber and throw on the sport exhaust, air suspension, torque vectoring etc.

    I prefer the walnut interior option and that must include their lovely walnut steering wheel. Screw the carbon fiber bits and pieces! If Porsche would only utilize the propulsion system from the 4s e-hybrid out of the Panamera! That would certainly get my attention! This particular model of the Cayenne was built for profit, plain and simple.

    For me when looking at the price of options you gotta think is it something new. Roof rails are expensive but without that option you simply don't get them. The painted brakes you already get brakes and they are already painted they just change the colour they spray. Sure logistics and it's less efficient than painted everyones the same colour but not that much. And the rear wiper the same so if you went and ordered a replacement normal one cause it's snapped are there two options and the black one is £300 more?

    A friend of mine in LA has a McCann and needed to come here to Vegas to pick up some stuff I stored for him. He said he didn't want to drive it up here because it gets 15mpg on the highway. After scoping out rentals he ended up driving it here anyway.
    I can just imagine how bad that thing is for gas mileage.
    Porsche is going to erode their customer base very badly if they keep charging these outrageous prices for options.

    100%, Nick. These are not performance cars, no matter the HP. The RS6, BMW XMs, and whatever Mercedes calls their latest tank can be either utility or luxury. 700 HP is going to be fast in a straight line, but there are many much faster options if that's what you want. SUVs as luxury cars makes a lot of sense. And fortunately, Porsche--known for reasonably priced options, made one just for you and the Gorillas. BTW, what color is the BMW M4 Competition you have on order? Mine's black...

  • @373axle
    @373axle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's always hard for me to stomach the price of all these spec'd up brand new Porsches when I can think of how many pre-owned supercars or very high performance luxury cars you can get on the used car market with relatively low miles for less or similar money. And the leftover $$ can be saved for maintenance/repairs down the road or a basic winter car.

    Nick, as you well know, in many if not most areas of life, talent, not equipment, rules the day. Take photography or videography as an example. I have very little artistic ability. Yet over the years I’ve owned every top of the line Canon and Nikon camera along with their long super expensive glass. My pics were ok, nothing to write home about. Yet friends with basic cheap cameras would take pics leagues better. My point is put a bus/Cayenne/Macan in the hands of a skilled driver on track and they will lap an unskilled driver in a GT3. Don’t ask me how I know.
