Sat in this at the auto show and liked it better than the Avalon. Beautiful design inside and out. Have to wait and see how it drives, though.

The SS is the separate rear wheel drive V8 NASCAR 2014 model based off of Australia's zeta platform. You want performance? Buy that car at over $40,000. GM FINALLY figured out that a front drive car should not be the SS model! That is a good thing.
I bought the 2014 2LTZ in November and it is beautiful!! Interior and exterior :) I also saw the 2014 SS drive by me with my own eyes so they did make it.
and they're so roomy, too :)

Your correct my mistake. So you can get a fully loaded Dodge Charger for 33-34000with rebates. So what will be the price of an Impala with rebates?
I think its not a bad car, Chevy was never one of my favorites but I like how with this car they are not going over the top like Hyundai is going with mostly all their cars.

Here we are 4 years later and no one is buying the the New beautiful Impala. My local dealer still has many 2017s still on the lot Beacuse everyone is SUV Happy. Well, I bought the new Impala last July and got $9000 off the sticker price. $36K for $25.5. I wish I would of waited a day and bough the MID NIGHT edition they brought out on the lot the following day and is still sitting there for $1000 more then I paid. It’s a shame because these are a lot of car for the $$$.

So since he said it and people still didn't realize what he said yet, there will be an SS version but it will not be an Impala but rather be re-branded as the Chevy SS. It will be RWD with a 415 HP 6.2L LS engine. Expect 45k+, not a Impala cutomer car.
The 2014 maybe much nicer then the 06-13, however they went derp by offering 4cyl options on a much heavier car then the Malibu. And I thought the 2.7 V6 in the Chargers were bad lol. Because it's too heavy MPGs won't help unless they offer a 2.0 Turbo as standard.

41 grand is for a fully loaded model with every option checked. You can get less expensive models. And all those other sedans you just names don't compete with the impala. Those are mid size. The impala is full size. Don't compare apples to oranges.

Not everyone is an American car hater. In fact one of my cars is American.
There just isn't anything to be excited about. Its an ok looking family hauler... that still falls short of the legendary impala name plate. The last car that tried to stay true to the Impala was the Impala SS of 1996. Then it went FWD totally ugly, nothing special in the engine department, so this only fixes the ugliness situation since its just ok looking.
I just went on Chevy website and built one. $41205 is way over priced. Compare that to the Altman, Accord or Camry it's just too expensive.
The car that all of the pharmaceutical reps will be driving.

Last real American made unique design was Impala was a 1996 Impala SS and maybe 2000-2004 that was ok, after that they all look like damn Hondas, KIAs with Chinese and South Korean components

The interior is let down by the steering wheel design IMO.
and they still managed to not get a good tail light design since 1996, front looks good but back end still looks like sh++ and if u notice allot of they're videos/reviews they dont show a lot of the rear lol C'MON gm !!!!

64, 14, were the designers smoking pot, the 2014 is kind of boring. The steering wheel reminds of a Fisher Price toys button style.
What a waist...great design but no SS option. So this car is destined for old folks and rental car agencies. The new SS is doomed to fail like the gto; it's very bland and lacks little style. Does GM bit see the ford SHO leaving them in the dust?! American car makers really need to make smarter decisions. Just my opinion.
Impala is at least 200 lbs heavier.
