During the time of the 2nd Temple is when uttering God’s name became taboo (but NOT forbidden) as it was okay to say his name on Day of Atonement. Sometime around the destruction of Jerusalem, the true pronunciation of the name was lost. What was created in the 13th century was the Tetragrammaton; which is in many ways a placeholder theonym for the original pronunciation that has been lost. Far earlier Jews even had a Trigrammaton (YHW) which almost certainly was them developing a similar concept.

2:51 "This means using our thinking ability to convince ourselves that jehova's advice is the best advice." If you have to actively work to convince yourself of something, you do not believe in it. You can fight against lies all you want, and they will not become the truth. And I say this in the name of truly religious people, too- not those who have been indoctrinated, but those who deeply believe. The things you truly believe aren't the things you need to convince yourself of. They are the essence of your being. One example is the use of pig and cow insulin for human diabetics which only stopped during the 1980s ! There are many many many more examples of how we use evolution to solve human ills and have done so for the past 120 years.
I can't see my comments
You know they said the same thing about comic books back in the 70s about how it would rot our brains
I cringed when they talk about the glass bottle. It's so stupid LOL
In that last one, if they replaced the fireplace behind the little guy with a realistic stock footage one, it would be right at home on adult swim
I lost it when that dude said “Jehover” lmao 💀
Sundays as a Catholic kid:
Me: I don’t wanna go to church…
Dad: Oh, you’re going…but we’re leaving right after communion so we’re home in time for kickoff…
Very Christian. My local church has moved service to 4pm because they can't be arsed waking up early
@@Eyes-bv9sx No, Catholics are just in touch with the world. Born again Christians only want to be in safe, like-minded cliques, which is the opposite of what Jesus did.
@@detroitpolak9904are you sure that’s not backwards?
@@rhymerlegend2717 12:00 mass. 1:00 kickoff. Those 10 extra minutes after communion were essential. Don’t understand the backwards thing. Doesn’t make sense.
My grandfather pointed out that God’s days are not ours and being all-powerful can absolutely create using evolution.
This is absolutely the same idea I had when I was a faithful Christian.
Wait so Rebecca basically got kidnapped right?
That line she never saw her family again or that their is no record of that felt kinda telling and creepy
It's exactly what women often talk about. "You can't smile or be nice to a random man or he might hurt you."
And in the Bible, she wasn't a young woman, she was a child.
So a young girl made the mistake of being kind to a man and was never seen or heard from again.
Amazing, avoid debt and do not go after material possessions. TELL THAT TO LOONEY LETT AND HIS HALF A MILLION MALIBU MANSION.
Half a million doesn't buy a mansion in Malibu. You got your wires crossed
@@ucanliv4ever really would you like to see the documents, he bought it with his brother. You know nothing mate. This cult is full of lies. Watchtower has millions of shares in Raytheon, Rand, and lockheed martin. All these companies research and manufacture weapons of war. GO EDUCATE YOURSELF SUNSHINE. Btw Jw, i have watchtowers tax returns as proof. You are being lied to by these 9 egomaniacs.
@@ucanliv4ever live 4 ever what a joke. Prove the name jehovah was removed from the bible like your misgoverning body claim.
Serious? It even says so in the King James Version " everywhere LORD or GOD (all capitals) the original text read Jehovah. Not even apostates argue that.
@@ucanliv4ever looney lett bought it with his brother, get your facts checked. Whilst your at it look up lockheed marting, raytheon and rand, these 3 companies research and manufacture weapons of war. Your GB has millions of dollars in shares with them. So much for neutrality.
Seeing the donkey in the background in the opening, I was just thinking that the donkey was going to start talking like in that bible story where God made a donkey talk just to stop some prophet from cursing the Israelites.
Best thing about that story is that there's actually no mention of god being the one making the donkey talk, but that the donkey itself talked just like the Eden snake talked with no devil involved neither
Damn, this time I lost fairly quickly. "Praise Jehovah" was just too much to bear.
I hope south park makes a special about this religion and makes fun it
I’ve been waiting and wondering… it HAS to come! Lol
The funniest part of that is how many JWs actually love South Park and then would have to boycott it. But, some wouldn't. 👹
they did it with scientology
I love South Park and that would be amazing
@@GateKeeper_Systems and that's why Chef is gone. Isaac Hayes is a scientologist. Fun fact. 😁
That watering scene:
Camels...
Toes...
Camels...

I see you, Watchtower! 👀
😂😂😂
I was missing that "Bahahahah~" and I thought it wasn't gonna show up this time until it popped up at the end. Never stop using it XD cracks me up every time!
Omg im freaking out I was watching this video riding passenger and I look up and see the first Kingdom Hall I’ve ever seen
I like that you said believing in a creator and evolution isn’t mutually exclusive because I believe animals still evolved over time because earth has changed over time! I’m Christian btw
Same! We aren’t God. Who knows how God did it. It could have been evolution, maybe not. All that matters is that HE created the world.
@@rhymerlegend2717 exactly!
YOUNG girls AND servants/slaves fetched the households water …
"That's how people end up in trafficking- Oh, shit."
I love that line, the comedic timing was truly perfect.
Shiver me timbers 😰😰
stuff like this always makes me thankful i was raised in a secular family.
Come to my master named Bater who craves the company of a young kind woman.
Wow
The song in the animated music video is giving "Arise and Shine Forth" from when I was growing up in the Mormon church.
the bottle part... HOW STUPID ARE THEY?!
Don’t marry a random stranger….UNLESS all your fam is JW…then run off with the stranger & get married lol 🙃
When did Watchtower get all Scottish?
11:50 I'm dying lol. "How TF could you possibly know that"
I know for me, I like to use the "Minecraft Theory" to explain my relationship with science-based faith. Mojang doesn't put every single little block in the game by hand, they're just the programmer. I don't think God(s) are up there playing puppet-show with everything, I think that we're griefing their Minecraft server and they're starting to get fed up with it.
Great content keep it up 👍
IM A DEVOTE CATHOLIC AND I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE BELEIVES ITHE EARTH IS 5000
You pray to ceramic action figures? Bro stand up.
@@bookwrmxoxo5105 wdym
@@bookwrmxoxo5105to be fair they're not praying to plastic beads they are using it as a tool and speaking through it, kinda like when you use a phone you're not speaking at the phone you're speaking through the phone to the person on the other side of it or at least thats how it was explained to me. (I am not Catholic)
You think maybe, then just hear me out here, just maybe there is no record of Rebecca ever seeing her family again because there is no record of Rebecca outside the Bible? Or even after this parable? You think maybe you would see that it was fake? Or just a story? No, it must be inspired by God. LMAO
Tell that to a billion muslims and Jews and see how far you get
I wonder if anyone ever thinks to themselves “you know… If a person is praying for something for 10 years, perhaps Jehovah’s Witnesses knocking on the door was just a coincidental occurrence given the fact that she’s always praying and a lot of things can occur over a 10 year period.. “ Maybe if the Mormons showed up, she would’ve said that about the Mormons
wake up! exjw pandatower uploaded! wake up!
Cringed at this part 8:34 because as a pimo, my pimi mother wanted me to marry a cult member but it'll never happen because of 2 reasons:
1.) Too many old people/boomers
2.) The cult themselves made me so very introverted because of how they made me isolated
Sent a text message to my teacher. Damn that caught me off guard, just seems wildly in appropriate, why would you have your teachers number.
Praise Jehovah bleah i vomitted in my mouth.
“You’re probably the only person in the class thinking that’s wrong”
MY WHOLE ENTIRE CLASS IS CHRISTIAN, AND IM HELLINISTIC PAGAN 😔
Making the world blue and sad at 24:00 is actually evil. A hideous example of "us vs them" complex.
He said to use your "thinking ability", not "critical thinking" 😂
And what thinking ability is going to protect the witnesses from the governing body?
Camping and marshmallows sure seems like a celebration.
2:53 lost thinking about a ‘dance for jehova’ tiktok trend
Tok to Jehovah 😂
"He then asked if it was okay if I showed the video to class." Is where I laughed. As if biology teachers teaching evolution hasn't heard every variations of this arguments.
14:02 HE'S TURNING SELF AWARE
2:51 "This means using our thinking ability to convince ourselves that jehova's advice is the best advice."
If you have to actively work to convince yourself of something, you do not believe in it. You can fight against lies all you want, and they will not become the truth. And I say this in the name of truly religious people, too- not those who have been indoctrinated, but those who deeply believe.
The things you truly believe aren't the things you need to convince yourself of. They are the essence of your being. They dictate the things you do and the person you are (along with your experiences and stuff.) But if you're ever trying too long to convince yourself something is something you believe, it's probably not.
From, someone who spend YEARS of time and hundreds of dollars trying to convince themself that they were religious.
the twearky amongus just killed me. hahaha your channel must be protected at all cost.
Just bc someone comes to the door???? now that’s a leap of faith!
0:42 is when I lost the no cringe challenge
I highly doubt no one left the classroom when the bell rang. That's not realistic.
I'm not a believer myself, but I don't see why people want to see science and religion as polar opposites. What if the Bible is metaphorical in many places and God decided to create life through evolution?
“…Work ourselves to life…”? The fuck does that mean? The double speak…it burns!
