Soon-to-be married Gemma visits the Curvy Girls Boutique with the hopes of finding a dress for her wedding - the only thing is that Gemma has been blessed with a double L cup, which sets a real challenge for Jo and Alison!
I love that these ladies actively try to maintain & boost their brides confidence- I can’t count the amount of dressing room meltdowns I’ve had just bc I was so frustrated that clothes shopping could be THIS HARD- both with the physical fit & keeping a positive view of yourself. The most beautiful thing of all is seeing someone happy to be them self 🤍

I'm underweight and tall and I have breakdowns when I'm shopping for clothes because nothing ever first right.
Same here, it's a long time since I have gone shopping for that reason, I know I'll have a breakdown
I have been 310 pounds and now I’m 140 pounds and I can say that I have experienced that feeling at both sizes and every size in between!
I have mental breakdowns all the time in dressing rooms I remember shopping for my grade 8 grad getting a cute dress and then my mom saying I need shape wear which made me wanna cry and so we went to another store in the mall I tried and couldn’t get it past my thigh I wanted to cry so bad that I started to and my mom was like you didn’t even let me try and help my dad was the only one looking at my face and said if it doesn’t fit then it doesn’t it’s not your fault and the dress looks beautiful the way you are you don’t need anything else and that was the best thing I could’ve heard at that moment
I love these two ladies that work at this shop. They are so caring towards the women that come in. Half the reason I enjoy this show is these women.

They really are so warm and wonderful. Pity we have no shops like this in my country.

They truly understand the brides since they had "been there"
They ARE therapists! Each and every time a bride comes in, they have a plan for her appointment, contingency for a problem, and usually can send them off with a boost (or full launch) OF CONFIDENCE. Never happens in "Real therapy". I love them!!
They ARE therapists. And worth every penny. Very supportive and honest; they obviously care about these clients.
These two women are some of the best therapists EVER!

Between this boutique and Lancashire, idk which I love more but low-key, they're the only reasons I keep watching SYTTD
Me too! I can’t even handle the other shows anymore. I just watch these for the positivity 🧡 (as I try to gain the courage to try on my own wedding dress that’s been hanging in the closet for a week)

I love that in this version they try as many dresses as necessary instead of just 2 or 3 like in the David emanuel's store
They probably try on more in D.E’s store but it’s edited down for entertainment / timing purposes. Same on SYTTD!
@@LostLolli1 i saw a video the other day, everyone was complaining about how they should had showed her more dresses, and the girl on it replied on the comments that she was given to try only 2. I get that is for the lenght of the recording purposes, since it takes really long, but still pretty sad because they were pushing her to say yes even though she didnt really felt them :(

@@yazminaustin7073 and then, sometimes the bride said in the comment section that she went and got a completely different dress. Or commenters would say that they found the bride on social media, saw her wedding pics and she wore a different dress. :-(
@@LostLolli1 they always ignore the budget there too which really annoys me to see! Why get a girl excited about something she can’t purchase just to up-sell

My cousin is a double L and they are so large, it must be so sore on their back and neck. I'm only an E and I get sore so I can't imagine the weight of LL's.
You might want to try a corset for support

It's understandable some choose reduction procedures for health
I was double D and had a reduction. I wished I had done it sooner.

Lol. My mom told me that our dishwasher is the best thing that ever happened to her. She has a husband and 2 kids.
I wouldn't say I love someone who thinks getting a wedding dress is better than having her two children. One thing I know for sure, she would feel amazing if she had a reduction, that would be relief beyond compare.
I love how they never talk price in this version.
Yeah it's all about the person. What annoys me is that, with most clothes, the less of material and the really show-y ones cost more which I think is silly because you're paying more for less material.
If they haven't talked to the brides about price at all (on screen or off) then they are really not helping their customers. Everyone has a reasonable budget and I hate businesses that use the emotion of a special occasion to push people into spending more than they can afford, especially a mum who has to take her kids needs into account.
Plus size dresses always cost more because of the additional fabric and all compare to a regular dress im a plus size girl so i expect these dresses are quite expensive

Gemma is so beautiful. I love how she glows in that dress. I sincerely wish her a strong, solid marriage and so much happiness. Jo & Al have such a gift boosting a bride’s confidence and making each bride really see & acknowledge their own beauty. I do honestly believe that each one of us is beautiful in our own special way. It’s why I love this show so much.

I'm a 36M. I feel her pain. Literally...in my back, my neck, and the tears every time I have to go shopping.
Can’t insurance cover for a reduction? Ouch!
But as a 36 you're not overweight. How much of her cup size is cause she is morbidly obese?
Please check into reduction. I have three friends who did it and they say it's the best thing they erver ever did.

The bride is amazing and inspiring. For her to have a debilitating sickness and she works and is a mother of two. Just wow. Simply amazing.

I always feel encouraged when I see people embrace MS on the media. I am also a MS warrior.
Her groom is absolutely lovely. The way he speaks about his bride is wonderful. She's a stunning bride.
All brides try on multiple dresses before they find a "happy place/happily ever after" fit. This point should be EXPRESSED IMMEDIATELY when a bride comes in that may be a difficult fit. "Underwhelmed" is a very real part of wedding dress shopping.

I actually loved the very first dress I tried on, which was so surprising. The woman in the wedding shop was like, "wow that was easy!" lol!
The second one was quite flattering! But, so is the last one.
It was almost like that last dress stepped out of the way, and the Bride was all that you could see.

@@SugarnSpice2289 I once read somewhere that in colonial times quite a few Welsh people moved to Trinidad. Not sure how accurate that is. I've actually had people ask me if I'm from Wales :)

This is my favorite 'Say Yes to the Dress' series! They found her the perfect dress and the odds were not in her favor.

As someone who can't fit in any nice clothes because of my chest size, this really spoke to me. If only everybody was as supportive as these lovely ladies.

She looked so beautiful in the last dress! I would imagine she ought to be in line for a bust reduction due to health reasons, but I guess as a nurse she probably already checked.
Perhaps MS is too risky for a procedure
I've known 3 people who have had reductions and it's rather cruel compared to an augmentation. There is a LOT of scaring, loss of sensitivity, lumpiness, etc. They do like not having to carry all the weight, but it is very unsightly.
Her new husband needs weight loss, they need to do it together!!!! Exercise, new foods...etc. under doctor orders

@@francesfehrman741 it must be extremely hard to exercise with that large of a chest though. i know you can just walk etc but still. a reduction could start her off nicely but ofc she knows what’s best for her

Gemma is beautiful and so are the ladies who run this boutique. I love looking at these UTube shows and how these 2 make big brides feel wonderful.

yes, I remember them mentioning it before in one of the episodes, they wanted it to be far in the countryside where their customer will feel relaxed and more like having a day out, instead of feeling pressured and under everyone's eyes.
its about an hour out of london and just under 30 mins from chelmsford so not too remote
it is in such a beautiful place
These two lady dress fitters are just amazing, all the time, and I'm always impressed by the way they make the best choices. This is one of the few where I've also been brought to tears about how well they've managed to find Just The Right Amazing Dress. They really are angels visiting down from Heaven ❤️❤️❤️

You could see the change in her in "The Dress". She literally stood taller, neck up and shoulders opened. She fell in love with her self the moment she opened her eyes. Beautiful!!
The consultants were so incredible, they were playing therapist + consultant with this bride. Such compassion!

These two lovely ladies are so amazing and helping her prior to find the exact dress she needed For herself, for her body, for her self-esteem and THEY DID JUST THAT❣️💕💕 The Bride looked SO STUNNING IN HER FINAL WEDDING DRESS!! I was so glad they found something beautiful for her because she had reached a point where she didn't want leave without a wedding dress

Unfortunately, I can be a bit judgey before getting to know people. These two consultants when I watched a few minutes of the first video I saw I was like no, but I finished and I just love both of them, I love all the brides. Their brides clients are so humble, reasonable in their expectations, the brides friends and family that come along are always sweet and kind too in their comments. Every bride looks stunning in the dress they were assisted in picking. I wish they would finish the episodes with the bride at her wedding.
