Can we give major props to the producers for not showcasing her scars AT ALL. There was one single shot when she was walking back to the changing room, but no zoom ins or major shows of them. I love that they didn’t exploit her insecurities.
Taking a moment to appreciate the editing and camera crew for carefully making sure the scars were not visible. I have no doubt other shows would have zoomed in on her back
Yes! I noticed that too, when they angled it away while they were covering it up.
I also appreciated that they didn't coerce the story out of her, I was totally expecting a whole little sad side-storyline, but they absolutely left her dignified.

I have so much respect for this version of SYTTD… even the video editors made sure to cut the episode together in a way that never showed this bride’s scars because she didn’t want them on display. They put their clients first!

My favorites too. They care about making their clients happy. Too many of the others on these shows just want to sell dresses- the more expensive the better and regardless of what looks best or what the brides can afford.

I got married 60 years ago, and I bought a dress off a friend, dont know why, wasn't about money, but when I watch this show, I always wish I had gone and tried some on, just to see how I could have looked.
I also had a borrowed dress in1974. Next year doing the wedding we didn't have in 1974. Dress, cake, reception, attendants. 🎉

These appointments are so much more than just buying a dress. It's about seeing a person (and them seeing themselves) as the beautiful human that they are. The dress just amplifies their precious essence. Cudos to Jo and Al for treating everyone with the utmost respect, patience and really listening to what the bride is looking for.

When I got married, I did not want to wear a tiara or veil. I didn't want to look like a princess, either. I had already planned to wear the flowers and pearls from my mom's wedding bouquet in my hair, and it came out looking stunning all on its own.

It’s sad that when she’s asked what her dream dress would be, the first thing she mentioned is what places she wants to hide, not even what the dress would look like. Society really lets people believe that anything that isn’t seen as conventionally pretty (i.e. models), it shouldn’t be seen
