    Hello! I hope you see this comment. I am a 35 yr old single mother and I would like to say THANK YOU!!! I proudly can say your video helped me tremendously!!! Step by step I got it through. Both my daughter and I had to take out the battery and put the new one in but other than that I did that shit!!! And whenever I came across some frustration I kept telling myself; DONT BE A WALMART WORKER!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 again; thank you so much and God bless you!!!

    This was an excellent how to video on changing what one would think is a simple swap and replace process. Who recalls how easy batteries used to be to replace, my goodness. Just finished the install after watching this and would have spent 2 hours figuring things out and breaking plastic if not for this amazing vid. Thanks to the poster for helping us all out and keeping DIY still possible for us!

    Good instructions. Chevy engineers definitely went above and beyond to make sure their techs have job security. The hardest parts are dropping the new battery into place and moving the stupid hot side fuse box out of the way. That thing is such a pain to work around. Definitely agree with getting help dropping the new battery into place; I got a few cuts dropping it in by myself because you have to lift up on the back side so it will drop into place. Thanks for the demo.

    Great video man, and the best of the 3 that I watched. The other two took apart more than they needed to. I’m glad I watched one more video (yours), so that I’m not messing with all those color coded bolts. And thanks for the warning on the trapped hand. I will definitely be watching out for that. Thanks again!

    Working in the parts industry it is 100 percent justifiable that we decline battery installs on vehicles such as these. However if the Walmart has a service garage there should be no excuse as to why they didn't. Very well done on the video sir

    • @rodriga1985
      @rodriga1985 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why is it justifiable? Just wondering, not trying to be confrontational.

    • @trintonjewett5516
      @trintonjewett5516 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rodriga1985 Liability when it comes to the electronics and systems of the car. There has been scenarios of people frying ecms or frying fuse boxes from very simple mistakes. Theres some cars that engage the anti theft system simply from disconnecting the battery and renders the car inoperable. Simply we put we provide an installation service but are no means "mechanics"

    Thank you for this video! My dad passed away 11 months ago and he would always do these kinds of things for me and I just can’t afford to pay the dealer 450$ to replace my battery. I’m going to give it a try tomorrow.

    • @dadscandoittv
      @dadscandoittv  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about your loss 🙏.
      Please be very care full. The battery extremely heavy and not much room to work with, also, IT CAN VERY EASILY PINCH YOUR HAND. You can also use a piece of rope or old belt to loop under the battery to lower it into place as it is going in. Then just pull the rope or belt out. Please make sure you have help. And take pictures before just in case you don't remember where something goes or how. I always take pictures. Good luck and thank you for watching.

    Bro...thank you so much for this! I was able to do this with my wifes 2020 traverse. Bro, when i got to that fuse bracket thats closest to the positive terminal, i was fuckin trippin! I was like, "is this shit attached into the battery?!" I was like no way, i hopped on youtube, foind ypur video, and finally seen the clips on all the sides! What a huge relief that was. 😆 surprisingly, the biggest pain in the ass, for me, was that gosh dang mount that keeps the battery from moving around. That shit stressed me out. Especially doing this bullshit at night. I remember back in the day swapping out a battery on all my trucks was papitas. They make this shit harder and harder. You saved me 100 bucks in labor charge at Chevrolet. Gracias homie.

    • @dadscandoittv

      I think... battery saving mode & Service charging system, & it did shut off on me a couple of times while in idle. Never during a drive. WhT it did do while I was driving it. Seemed like all the lights on the dash came on for about 5 seconds then off again.
      After replacing the battery I took it to auto zone for testing. It failed. Have not had any issues at all since replacing the battery.

      Thank you for the question.
      I had zero issues.
      A battery tender is a Battery charger, mainly used for vehicles/motorcycles batteries that are going to sit for a while without use. The tender gives it a slow charge to maintain the battery life. You do not need a tender when changing out the battery.

Please also make sure to use the red/pink. People call it different. DO NOT USE GREEN or any other color coolant. Use only the red/pink dex coolant for Chevy. Thank you for watching.

Maybe I should have watched it first and warned him. I have a 2014 malibu and we assume it'll be easy. Nope as chevy advance in their car they keeps making it for avg consumer do a simple battery change. Would you know anything about 2019 Stabilitrak troubleshoot? Ours keeps showing up and the 'Shift to park' error.

    • @dadscandoittv
      @dadscandoittv  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm sorry about the cut. And I'm glad my video was helpful. On the shift to park. It shows up most of the time when the shifter does not go fully into park. May cause it or not to slip out of park when the car in not in use. So make sure to use the hand/foot/e-brale when parked. This sometimes has to do with wear-n-tear at the shifter on the transmission. Sometimes the grommet/stabilizer grommet gets worn. You might want to start there. If you use a jack. Please make sure to also use jack stands for safety. Good luck and thank you for watching.

    You just screw up your vehicle. Now, there's gonna be a lot of problems down the line with your vehicle. Do you know why walmart refuses to change the battery? Because that car needs a constant power supply to keep those on-board computers happy while you're replacing the battery. If you don't supply the onboard computer with constant power. You run the risk of creating more issues with the computer. These newer vehicles are not like your old average joe vehicle back in the 90s where you can just yank the old battery out and throw in a new one, and that's that. Walmart employee was smart because they knew what would happen after they replaced the battery. I will tell you now that your vehicle will not run right again after you fail to follow a strict proper procedure step. This is a terrible guide, especially on these newer vehicles that require constant power no matter you do in replacing the battery.

    • @dadscandoittv
      @dadscandoittv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      SORRY MR. VANG. YOURE WRONG.
      1) do you work at a dealership? Or did you get your information from a dealership?
      2) I have had absolutely no issues after replacing the battery.
      3) walmart refused to change out the battery for the SIMPLE FACT that there are electrical connections that need to be MOVED (NOT DISCONNECTED) just move as you see in my video. That is the only reason they could not change the battery out. They supposedly can't touch or not allowed to touch things like that.
      4) the only way you are going to set off codes is if you disconnect other things. Really. So you are telling me if you leave your lights on all night and it kills your battery. Or you battery goes bad and has ZERO POWER left, your going to get codes? I'm asking because it no longer has thar constant power supply you swear it needs. Sorry. Although cars nowadays are MORE DELICATE, they are NOT that delicate. Maybe the ALL electric or hybrids are delicate like you say. But not a gas running car. Next time I'll leave the car running while changing out the battery, it will ha e constant power supply like that too.
      Dealership always make things look/sound A LOT scarier than they really are.
      So people can run to them and pay their hi prices for them to do simple stuff you can do. Call your local dealer ask how muck it would cost to replace the battery in a 2019 Chevy Traverse. Ask for the labor cost after they give you a price. I'll say it now cause I know you won't come back. You're welcome.

    • @mrvang8077
      @mrvang8077 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've seen a lot of people started having problems after replacing they're car battery especially with these newer Traverse model that are electronic gadget sensitive. And the control module need a 12 volt power to maintain its memory setting otherwise it could cause issues later on down the line. You know like when you cut off power to the car. You'd have to go back and set the clock the radio station all over again that kind o thing. With these newer traverse if the computer module looses power it could cause issues like it doesn't know what happen and why the power just went out and it doesn't know that you have a new battery in it and that it needs to be reset to detect a fresh new battery versu the old battery. If you haven't encounter any issues later on down the line then accept my apology. It was never my intention to offend you or anyone. I am a DIY myself. I never take my vehicles to any machine shop let alone to the dealership for any kind of service. I work and fix my own vehicle when things are worn out and needs replacement. I maintain my own vehicle to keep it running in tip top condition monthly. I have that same vehicle myself. 21:25

    • @dadscandoittv
      @dadscandoittv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @mrvang8077 no offense taken. And no apologies needed. I am an auto technician. And I disconnect batteries on vehicles on the daily. At the end when I reconnect the battery, I do a health check using an autel scan and reset electronic tool. I have not once ran onto any issues on any cars any make or model as of today. At a body shop cars sit with our doors trunks etc... causing batteries to die, even to go bad. So when charging or replacing batteries I scan for codes. Most common seat memory. Customers always say. I never set it. That's why it exists. This is really mostly on Mercedes Benz. All other cars have been fine.
