    It's like all of the automobile engineers are smoking crack now. These newer vehicles are a pain in the ass for even the simplist of repairs...

      It's crazy, I was changing the air filter on my mom's Traverse and did the usual inspections etc and it was like, wait a minute, where in the hell is the battery smh lol

      The auto parts stores, which will usually replace batteries for free, won't touch this car's battery since it's hidden away here. PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED they say.

    You have to disconnect and reconnect the battery vent tube when you change the battery. The tube is located on the negative side of the battery, There is an elbow on the battery that has to be removed before the battery is changed. A new vent plug has to be put on the positive side of the battery. It is included in the cap that covers the positive terminal. If there isn't a cap, then you will have to reuse the old one.

      Is that on all models?

      Additionally, make sure that the battery you get to replace the dead one is the right battery and at good charge BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I ended up having to make 2 trips.

      Just realized what you're talking about. Mechanic changed my battery but the battery doesnt have the vent tube and my car kept saying the battery power low 😑

    I didn't see any mention of the vent tube.

    When disconnecting or reconnecting battery should one side be done first or does it matter the procedure of steps that are done in sequence? Thank you so much

    • @emuhill
      @emuhill 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Always disconnect the negative battery clamp first. That way you don't short out the positive to the vehicles chassis through the wrench when trying to disconnect it. That's the recommended procedure on all vehicles by the way.

    I was told the Traverse requires a AGM battery versus a standard battery. Does anyone know of complications if you just use a standard battery.

      I recommend getting either the 9 volt battery backup that plugs into the cigarette lighter power port or the ODBII battery backup adapter for a 12 volt battery. Either method will require you to supply some kind of a battery. That will keep your radio settings and computer memory intact. If using the ODBII adapter, do not attempt to start the vehicle with the adapter plugged into the ODBII port otherwise you will blow the PWR Mode (2 Amp) and the DISPLY (10 Amp) fuses in the in cabin fuse box located under the glove box. The vehicle won't start if the PWR Mode fuse is blown as it goes to the vehicle's security system and the dash wont work if the DISPLY fuse is blown. If your vehicle has an auxillary battery, then neither if these battery backups should be required as long as that battery is still good.

    I have a 2020 lt only can find one battery under the hood so weres th other battery

    • @emuhill
      @emuhill 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      More than likely the battery under the hood is your auxillary battery. The starter battery is very likely in the cabin, in the floor behind the front passenger seat as shown in this video.

      @@davidk9711 Get under the vehicle and loosen the mounting bolts and the move the seat out of the way just enough to get the battery out.
