Everyone looked over the 5th gen only because the C6 was the hottest thing on the market at the time. Now people are going back to them because they do pack a punch
Naw, before the hellcat came out it was the Camaro that everyone wanted die to the Transformers franchise. Including myself lol, I always seen c6 vettes and 5th gen Camaros around ALL THE TIME until the hellcat and different 392ci models came out. I live in a huge city so it might differ for different people so idk.
63yr old my son bought me a 2014 ss2 specked with leather seats manual transmission I still have my high school car a 1969 still have the student parking sticker on windshield. I love that car it reminds me of my youth I inherited my mother ss Monte Carlo took the 305 out it has a 454 no ,so as you can tell I am a Chevy guy thru and thru great video!
My uncle got me into the Camaro bug, he’s had 3/4 69 Z/28’s, worked the line in Lansing guy does all his own rebuilds. I worked for GM for a while, took him in a ride in a gen2 CTS-V 6 speed, he wasn’t expecting them to bust loose in 2nd it was hilarious. Had a 2015 2SS/RS 1LE, need to get back to one.
I love the look of the 5th gen camaro SS and zl1. It’s the most closest to the 1st gen throwback with the tail lights of a vet. The newer are confused. Although the lt1 is good. Beautiful car man.
Just seen your camaro at a gas station by hialeah hospital a day ago, it looks amazing👏🔥. I ditched my scat pack shaker for a family truck, thanks for the video, you helped me make a final decision for an upcoming cheap muscle car purchase next year👍
Auto 5th gen post refresh is my dream. I feel the same way about the styling and interior. 6th gen has a nicer interior but 5th gen feels more spacious and retro.
Just passed 1 year of ownership....2015, the BEST of the 5th gens. 2SS/RS, fully loaded.....got her with 108k miles and put 28k on her since. That's a lot, but these cars were made to drive and I've loved every, single, mile. Added Borla S exhaust, a cold air intake and all the regular 100k maintenance. I'm going to have to replace things soon, I know and when I do, she's going to get some more muscle. She's the car I always wanted and the last car I'll own. I turn 52 this year and looking forward to grow old with her as my ride. She's my first V8 too, and I love your vids man, hope you still read your comments, but if not, at least we're driving great cars....I want to paint mine, and she's going to be blue so yours is one I've been watching a while.
Kayla thanks for that 🙏 I’m always looking to speak clearly in my videos and expand my vocabulary so comments like this reassure that I’m doing well 👊🏻😁
I second your opinion, I bought my 2013 2SS red jeweled brand new 0 miles. Plan to keep it till I die God wiling. Still have less than 55K miles all stock. I watched the first Transformer movie in the middle east while deployed and I fell in love with it.
Im late but the fact that you had your 5th gen for *7years!!!!* and you still love it, and keep it in great condition makes me proud that i bought my "post" refresh 5th gen ss ls3 w/ 54k on the clock...... theyll be Gems 💎 in the future..... 💯
They had an SS in stock when I bought my RS, but I made the economic decision to go with the lesser engine to save a little on the insurance and loan. It took a little to get used to the visibility, but you just can't beat the lines of the 5th gen. I remember first seeing it in the first Transformers movie and thinking it had to be a $200k car. When I found out what it was, I had to have one, and finally do. My only issue on the RS so far was due to shoddy maintenance by a prior owner or shop, they omitted to bolt down the purge valve which resulted in the return line fatiguing and shearing, but it was super simple to splice the line. Other than that, it's just running and fun. Next step is to replace the factory vinyl. Base color is silver, so I think I'm going to go with a dark red for a sci-fi look. Going that route, it's lifetime wear will just add to the character.
I'm 55 ...Mustang Owner 3X ...picked up a 2014 SS RS....L99 White with Inferno Orange....Gorgeous car ....14k miles...Just needs an exhaust...Car is really nice...Clean clean..... More than enough for me.... 3:15
Hello! Just stumbled into your video about this car. My bro in law passed away and gave me his 2015 ss Camaro with manual transmission. H has headers exhaust and has been tuned. Never had owned an American car hopefully it will be reliable. Fast I know it is because he gave a ride after mods and I was surprised1 Thank you for this video
Love the way this cars exhaust note puts a smile on his face..If I had that in Ireland Id be driving it around like I was in Bullitt or the french connection.
Bought my 2013 ss/rs back in 2015 with 33k miles. Now she has 88k and absolutely no issues. Track days, rally’s, and hard driving and she keeps going. Will keep it forever!
The transformers movie combined with the fact that I watched my uncle build his late 60’s Camaro (which is basically where they got the body style) locked in a place in my heart with this dream car.
I dig the look and the color of your ride! I looked hard for a 2013 blue ZL1 with no such luck because they didn't offer it in blue. I settled with the Inferno Orange Metallic. I truly dig my ride. Built the engine. 957 rwhp and 846 ft. Lbs of torque. I actually traded my black 2008 Z06 for it. Best decision ever! Great content. ✌️
My father has a 2013 V6 RS with barely 68K miles we bought off the auction that had a hit on the front end which we ended up replacing the fender, control arms and everything else was mint car been amazing thus far. The V8 would be nice but man having 87 octane and lower insurance is huge as well
Very informative video. My brother has an orange 2SS (2010) and he loves it. I’m kinda on the fence about getting a 2SS Camaro 6-speed as well. I’m kinda leaning towards a 2008-2009 G8 GT though. Camaro’s are everywhere, and I like being different. You don’t see G8 GT’s much, and they’re the same chassis. Plus, I drove my brother’s Camaro and the blind spots are terrible! But I guess I’d get used to it
I made a mistake and purchased a 2018 Audi A4 car is great perfect daily but I really want a Camaro SS sold my 2v mustang gt and I’ve been dying to get back into a proper muscle car . This video just helped me set a goal and hopefully buy a Camaro ! Thanks!!
I did luck out and get the inferno orange 2 SS four years ago for an amazing deal. The mod options are amazing considering the cost to power ratio. I replaced an 01 WS6. The only thing I miss is the t-tops.
I have a 2012 45th 2SS Vert w the L99. I would love the standard, but that was what I found available and there are perks to an auto with kids. I tote 2 kids and my wife around… a LOT. Currently, over 230K miles on her, still running strong. I have had to invest a good bit in some repairs, but it still makes me happy every time I drive it! There is also only around 1,100+- (I think) of this particular model made, so that’s cool. lol
I just got my 5th gen 2012 rally yellow 1ss last month for 23k with 37,024 miles on it. I love it so far! Just gotta figure my finances out & then put a good exhaust on it. It’s stock everything right now.
I just sold my C6 GS because I wanted the gen 5 SSRT convertible. Not disappointed, the interior alone on the camaro blows away the vette interior. The seats are so much better in the camaro also.. ant maintenance on the vette was crazy expensive compared to the SS. No regrets here!
We had a $16k SS 2013 in a nearby dealership back in the good days. Only had 13k miles on it. I passed on it because it seemed too high of a price because I was also looking at a grand sport C6 going for a similar price. Boy was I wrong. Should’ve put myself in debt and got both because they ended up skyrocketing in price during peak pandemic prices. We live and we learn though. I just got my 23 3LT now and I love it!
Ross, what's good bro? Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you like my videos! I have a tutorial review and install video for those Oracle lights! Check it out!
I just bought a 2011 Camaro SS, ls3 Cammed with 38k miles for 9k ! It Was a steal and I love the car ! I wanted a c6 but this car definitely changed my mind ! 🦅
Your Camaro is the cleanest 5th gen on TH-cam. I just bought a Victory Red 2010 2SS a week ago with a manual trans. Loving it so far. Can't wait to start modifying it.
@@gvaspirated it sure is though. Only 5 or 6 of them in the Netherlands 😂 but it's also very unique to have a V8 due the high prices of purchase, taxes, fuel and more taxes...we pay around 2€ a liter 98octane. Then we pay insurance ofcourse ( my car is 190€ each month) then taxes 110( each month).... So it's not real fun to drive a V8 here. But it's a true neck breaker everyone is watching it and taking pics.
The best year Camaro is a 2010 5th gen SS or a 1969 Camaro SS the 5th gen is a modern classic and a movie star I am so getting one very soon! Beautiful car my guy!
Good info, and the car looks good, a few modifications and nothing tacky. These look good straight out of the box. They just need a little personalization.I plan on getting one, that’s my favorite generation. I have a gen 6 Charger with the 5.7 and I call it my four door Camaro SS. It even has the stock gen 5 SS wheels on it.
Low chance of you seeing this, but I’m 17 and well on my way to saving up for a Camaro as my first self bought car. I’m currently debating between getting a 5th gen or a 16-18 6th. Some factors I’m considering are the cooled seats, active fuel management, paddle shifters, heads up holo display, and it’s personally the design I prefer and the car I’ve wanted for years. But the gen 5 is also more affordable as you mentioned, there’s also the defective automatic transmission on the 6th, most likely cheaper insurance, and as far as the looks, I must admit this video made my eyes wonder a bit. Anything you could tell me to push me one way or the other. I also plan to own whichever one forever seeing that the Camaro is getting discontinued.
Nice car! You have a mix of just about every 5th gen V8 in there, 14-15 hood, ZL-1 grille, Z/28 splitter and wheel style... Almost a Hot Wheel color too. And of course the RS version which i don,t have on my 13 SS 1LE... At least I got ZL-1 wheels with that package! I constantly get good comments on my car even though it's closer to stock. Love the thing!
Great video I had 3 5th gen Camaros. I also had a 2016 5:28 6th gen Camaro. Then an LT1, 2021 1SS then a 2023 2SS. I purchased another 5th gen 2015 Camaro for a daily driver. I agree that the 5th gen Camaro has more of a retro look and like it more than the 6th gen.
Dude what the hell do you do for a living ? Lol I am an engineer and worked my tail off to get my 6th gen. No way I can afford that many cars, plus I hate the idea of financing.
@@alexv5581 I work 3 jobs. I am employed by a local sheriff's office, work security on the weekends, and work part time at a resort 2 nights a week after day job. No family just me. My dad said once might as well enjoy yourself now cuz you can't take it with you lol!!
2012 45th anniversary RS v6 owner. love it.. buuut kick myself for not getting ss, already replaced engine at 88k miles mechanics and dealer said 5th gen ss engines are buletproof, people supercharge them and track them without issues
Not all 2 ss /rs came with leather seats I have the same car same color car an it was special order with cloth seats that are black an grey but has a leather wheel also doesn’t have gauges which I do regret clean car though keep me motivated ❤
Definitely the 2013 and 2015 models because they figured out a lot of the bugs from the previous years. But it depends on previous owner and driving styles man. But those years are the best.
I have a 2015 ZL1 manual trans in velvet blue metallic which is a one year only color. I bought mine used and my criteria was manual trans, no sunroof and Recaro seats, I wanted the exposed carbon fiber hood insert and silver 5 spoke wheels, which mine has, but would not have been a deal breaker. I had another ZL1 years ago but it was white with an automatic and a sunroof and I wound up selling it.
I want a new 6 gen 2024 base/white/manual and i'm pissed because there won't be what I want left in June. I've done a dealer search and can't even find one in CA already.
I love your enthusiasm for the 5th gen Camaro. But it seems hard to justify buying one nowadays. Same price as they were six years ago. Also, the much newer sixth gen is only a few grand more these days.
Do you have a parts list or link for what you have done to this SS? I have a 2SS, fully stock with 25,000 miles on it. Yours looks nicer than a ZL1. Incredible job!!
I bought my 2011 SS (L99) 3 months ago. I fucking love this car I’ve wanted one since I seen it in the transformers movie. It’s my dream car and I’m in love
Trying to decide if i want to buy a Camaro 2ss or dodge Challenger rt. 2010 Camaro Is blue like yours with 123,000 miles for $16.2. The other is black with red stripes and red interior 96,000 miles for $18.9. The Challenger is red with sunroof 105,000 miles for $16.9. The other is all white with black stripes 96,500 for 16.9. which should i go with?
Would you recommend this as a first car, i am in love with this car but i feel like the power is too much for me and the insurance would eat me alive (IF my parents dont want to take care of it)..
Currently deciding between a 5th and 6th gen SS . I’m going on 21 and have little experience with credit and all of that so I’m avoiding payments as much as possible . I can buy a ‘10-‘14 SS cash low mileage or a I can put that down on a newer SS with little higher mileage . Just looking for some other ideas or options , I wanna go about this as smart as possible have a fun car but not go flat broke owning it . If I were to get a 5th gen this year I’d probably end up selling it after s a year or two and putting $ towards a 6th gen SS or Zl1 when the time comes . Any ideas are appreciated
I owned a 2011 1LT RS V6. I loved it. I would only get a 2010-2011 Camaro due to the styling if I ever get one again. I bought mine brand new so I picked the V6 because my MSRP was 28k, compared to over 38k for the SS V8. Plus I saved a boatload on gas/insurance and still got muscle car performance.
I have the yellow 2013 SS2 LS3. And I've still love this puppy. Sadly, my driver side leather is showing its age. It also had the MyLink system, which was great (I had a Windows Phone, which gave me the absolute BEST hands-free experience of any system ever...RIP Windows Phone). Sadly, the MyLink system began failing (frequent random reboots and black screens). I just replaced it with the DigitalOctopusRandio DO2---which is awesome because it looks factory but adds Android Auto and CarPlay.
It has that true muscle car feel and sound, IMHO. The 6th generation LT1 did not have that sound and feel, and I feel it went into the sports car era, which it was not really meant to be. IMO of course.
Can’t wait to get me a 5th gen SS hopefully by late next year to upgrade from my 5th gen V6. But I want it to be a manual even tho I’ve at this point never driven a manual, but hey gotta learn somehow if you don’t know anyone who has one
Hey boss I did a cost breakdown for my particular build at 120k, that should give you an idea. Plus you can check camaro5 for further details. Check out my video th-cam.com/video/VBKwhHZkex8/w-d-xo.html
The 5gen camaro is what the 05-09 mustangs are classic looking muscle cars with a modern taste. Sure they’re old now but those generations are amazing when it comes to what is offered in terms of horsepower and looks. The 5th gen camaro will always stand out. The 05-09 mustang will always look like a classic muscle car. Not to mention both cars are pretty easy to modify. The newer gens are more of a sports car
Nostalgia shouldn't get in the way of innovation. Engineers don't care about it to a certain extent, otherwise you get left In the dust by the competition.
*Need your opinion * I found a 2015 Camaro 2ss M6 1le track suspension with 34k miles. Price is $29,986. Does that sound resonable or high? It is really nice and has been taken care of.
Everyone looked over the 5th gen only because the C6 was the hottest thing on the market at the time. Now people are going back to them because they do pack a punch
They look good, drive good and most importantly pack a MEAN punch.

Muffler delete will open it up or buy an axle back exhaust
100% start with some cat delete or axle back. Muffler delete is a little extreme. You could also do headers but that's the pricier option

I just bought a 2011 Camaro SS, ls3 Cammed with 38k miles for 9k ! It Was a steal and I love the car ! I wanted a c6 but this car definitely changed my mind ! 🦅
Bro whaaaaaat stop playing you found a 38k mile ls3 for 9k, WHERE FAM WHERE?
Your Camaro is the cleanest 5th gen on TH-cam.
I just bought a Victory Red 2010 2SS a week ago with a manual trans. Loving it so far. Can't wait to start modifying it.
Yo man thank you so much! Best of luck with your modifications! You wont regret it!
How much did you pay for it ? I'm looking to buy one but I'm not sure what a good price is
I love black cars but that blue is something else
Awesome vid once again Gabe!!!
Much love from the 5th gen ZL1 owner from the Netherlands 😉👌
Thanks Jeffry! Must be so cool to own a Z in the netherlands!
Nice color on that car. Honestly I prefer that blue.
It's so unique man!
Nice review thx!I am pondering this vs a C7 vette
6th gen bro
How do you get those seats?? Are they z28 seats?
I agree with everything you said about the car great video buddy 👍 👏
@@alexv5581 also traded them in for another I don't still have the except for the 2015 and 2023
Beautiful car. I drove an ss gen 5 manual transmission and drove the gen2 mustang gt manual transmission . I fell in love with the gt lol. 🤙
I want to make a comparison video between the two!
I’m torn between the 2013 2ss and the 2018 2ss both look amazing but that rev match on the 2018 is tempting plus push start
The 6th gen is objectively better in every aspect except sound and and look. Either choice, you won't be dissatisfied.
2012 45th anniversary RS v6 owner. love it.. buuut
kick myself for not getting ss, already replaced engine at 88k miles
mechanics and dealer said 5th gen ss engines are buletproof, people supercharge them and track them without issues
Not all 2 ss /rs came with leather seats I have the same car same color car an it was special order with cloth seats that are black an grey but has a leather wheel also doesn’t have gauges which I do regret clean car though keep me motivated ❤
What grill do you have in the front? I love it!
What’s the best year Camaro to buy in your opinion? In terms of reliability.
Definitely the 2013 and 2015 models because they figured out a lot of the bugs from the previous years. But it depends on previous owner and driving styles man. But those years are the best.
@@gvaspiratedare there any that you would completely steer clear from?
All great reasons👍👍
Sold mine on 2018 and got a C7z ngl I miss it everyday hope i get one for my daily :D
Wanted that velvet blue metallic , ended up with Crystal red tintcoat (2015). Recaros and sunroof.. M6 of course.
Was choosing this or a challenger r/t 🙏🏾 thanks for the video man
I want a new 6 gen 2024 base/white/manual and i'm pissed because there won't be what I want left in June. I've done a dealer search and can't even find one in CA already.
I love your enthusiasm for the 5th gen Camaro. But it seems hard to justify buying one nowadays. Same price as they were six years ago. Also, the much newer sixth gen is only a few grand more these days.
That should tell you something bro! I do like 6th gens but the 5th looks like it’s just more desirable. You won’t be disappointed with either 🤪
The difference in price where I'm at is 25k for a 5th gen to 30-40k for a 6th gen lol
Ya this comment is crap. 6th gens are wayyyy more expensive than 5th gens
Bought a 5th gen as my first car overall i love the car
Good choice man!
Do you have a parts list or link for what you have done to this SS? I have a 2SS, fully stock with 25,000 miles on it. Yours looks nicer than a ZL1. Incredible job!!
www.amazon.com/shop/gvaspirated
Check it out bro! I also have a walkaround video of all the mods I've done up to that point. Links are there too!
Always loved the camaro got me a 14 2ss 1le few weeks ago
Watching this video after picking up my L99 14 2ss with rs package.
Hahah congrats bro :) thanks for stopping by
could you plz do a vid on all of your exterior mods? just got one and i want mine to look like your… badass car dude😂
The thing with me is I want to keep my car for as long as I possibly can in my life maybe it’s the young n dumb in me IDK LOL
what year is it?
Very nice car that blue with black really pops
Dude thank you so much!
Got a 14 ZL1 Convertible and it still turn heads with 31XXX
bro what body kit is that?? i picked up a 2011 SS and im trying to find good body kits
Nice car bro, mine is 2012/ 2SS /45th anniversary convertible
Ayeee nice man!
@@gvaspirated thank you
What kind of front grille do you have?
Yeah the LT1 is a more refined version of the LS3 sound, almost like a synthetic sound.
i'd love to buy one! now i just need the money 😆
I feel you, being an E-2 in the military isn’t paying enough 😂
Made the horrible decision of selling my cammed 2013 when gas prices were insane. I know the guy who has it now…should I see if he’s looking to sell?
Can’t wait to get me a 5th gen SS hopefully by late next year to upgrade from my 5th gen V6. But I want it to be a manual even tho I’ve at this point never driven a manual, but hey gotta learn somehow if you don’t know anyone who has one
Awesome thanks again
What is the name of that blue? Looks great.
Are these cars actually reliable? I’m looking in to getting one I just need to make sure
Hey boss I did a cost breakdown for my particular build at 120k, that should give you an idea. Plus you can check camaro5 for further details. Check out my video th-cam.com/video/VBKwhHZkex8/w-d-xo.html
Got a 5th GEN L99 want to do headers and a tune.
Ayeee you won't regret it!
*Need your opinion *
I found a 2015 Camaro 2ss M6 1le track suspension with 34k miles. Price is $29,986. Does that sound resonable or high? It is really nice and has been taken care of.
I bought my 2014 Camaro 2SS with 42kmiles for $27k. This was 6 yrs ago.
