Watching this at the end of August, and I'm so touched about you mentioning Pop 😢 We did get a miracle in more time with him, as well as all God did in healing our family's relationships with each other and with Him. We miss him, but we are also relieved that his pain is over.
I learned a long time ago, that for me, I don't try to play catch up. When I used to fall behind on my daily reading, I realized that in trying to get up to speed, I wasn't learning anything and several things got past me. I have slowed down now, and I have given myself some grace whenever I have skipped a day or two. Sometimes life gets in the way and I know God understands. :)
Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts about The Psalms Devotional! 😊 I totally get what you are saying about the title (we have heard the same feedback from others too). Perhaps we will change the title. It’s definitely a unique way to do a devotional time (devotional meaning setting aside some time for the Lord) and Bible study (a time to study the Word) that’s why we titled it this. The unique part of it is that you are doing it for yourself as a self guided devo / study. We really appreciate your thoughts and comments ❤❤❤❤ thank you so much!
I’m actually praying about what type of journal system I want to use for Sunday notes. I’ve committed to Happy Planner compatible stuff this year. But I’m praying for next year, too. I want everything to be functional but also have an element of beauty to it as well. After all we serve a creative God. I’m naturally wanting to add some Creativity to my prayers, note taking etc.
I’m taking notes on the Sunday messages and kinda making that my personal Bible study. It’s working great. Only lately I feel like I really need to be doing my own study as I’m reading thru the Bible myself, too. So I’m praying about a plan of action and I think I’ve found it. I’m going to review my notes from Sunday and fill in any gaps and the. The rest of the week read my Bible in my own and take notes.
That sounds like a good plan. As long as you are in his word and digging deeper that’s all that matters. I think sometimes I feel like I have to do it all and then I get overwhelmed. I’ll be praying for you as you figure out what you want to do. 🙏❤️
@@Searching4Faith I feel you on the overwhelmed bit . I have been there before and every time I get there I have to reevaluate what I’m doing and why . Really at the end of the day you just need a Bible, paper and pen !!! And maybe some highlighters.
I also love reading my Bibles I have a world Bible school study edition Bible and a catholic life Bible can I write in them with a energel X point 07gel pen ❤amen 🙏 ❤️
The devotional books look interesting. I’m studying Isaiah and it’s taking most of my time but also trying to do the psalms, which I have also been in all year and on Psalm 8. But, that’s ok.
I’ve been studying the psalms also. I started out doing the plan from Journey Women Ministries but I quickly realized I couldn’t keep up with their pace. I don’t mind though. I am ADHD too and find that I can easily be distracted and get into the habit of rushing thru to check off the box so in order to avoid that I just keep reading at my own pace and take notes as I go. I even stopped listening to the weekly devotional they put out so I don’t feel like I’m behind. The good thing about the plan is that the psalms are read per genre (lament, praise, Messianic etc) which I haven’t done before. I use a journaling Bible so I write my notes in that. I buy a new one every other year or so so that I can write new notes. I’ve found that my older notes get distracting so I just retire my Bible and write the years on the spine.
I am interested in seeing the pros and cons of various types of studies and devotions etc. I hear ya on August busy days. Deep breaths and deep prayer 🙏🏼

Yeah, definitely am right there with you with the psalms. Still trying to get back into them. 😊
