NLT and even ESV & others do not have the "missing" verses you mentioned because they are going off of older manuscripts that did not have those verses in there. They usually put them as a footnote at the bottom of the page with a number or asterisk. All translations are good to use. Helps get a better sense of the verse. You might find insight with one translation that you didn't with another. You can't get a 100% accurate Bible no matter how word for word or dynamic you go. On another note, I wish they would come out with a extra large print journaling Bible. Sadly, all large print journaling Bibles are only 9/9.5 font. I keep hope for one day lol. That is a beautiful Bible I have had my eye on.❤
It's good to compare various translations to find the one you prefer. Each Bible has its own purposes. Reference bibles can also be wide margin. Thinline is paper fine tissue like. CSB is a great translation. ESV takes it it further. Watch some of Tim Wildsmith videos. He's amazing at explaining. You will see paper thickness and font size. Tyndale is known for their great print. Look up Tyndale Large print compact Bibles. Awesome! Hosanna and Crossway tend to have the words large print but after many purchases with Zondervan and Tyndale large print it's very very different. I understand 1000 times why you are excited. It is exciting. You have to find a group to share it in with you that are sharing your love of Christ. Church Bible study, church womans group etc. I learned over months of buying Bibles the various publishers and paper, font, Wide Margin compared to journaling, reference bibles etc. I have Compact NLT loaded with ways to make it them my prayer bible. Christianbook store online is one place I would recommend purchasing. I wanted an interleaved CSB but it doesn't exist and the ESV interleaved font is too small. I bought a large print (not as big as Tyndale. I don't think you would be comfortable at all.) CSB Wide Margin and I am going to attempt adding my own cream or Ivory 20lb print paper tip ins to it. It's a project but I'm excited to make it my own. I think your enthusiasm is great! Keep on getting in the word of Christ and doing it your way!!! All translations count as long as you are learning and growing. 🩷🙏
Yay! So happy for you!! I have not found the perfect Bible. But I think each Bible is perfect in its own way. However, I think we can make our Bibles perfect by personalizing them. I just found your channel today!
Pretty Bible. I love the Rose gold. I like a more portable size that is easier to hold. One option which you might consider adding to your Bible study is a small portable audio Bible. One brand is Wonder Bible. I have a different brand. These are available in a variety of translations. My perfect Bible is old school NASB Open Bible that is 40 years old. I just received a clean used copy 2 days ago. The amount of Bibles I own is crazy but I love them all for various reasons. I totally understand your excitement at receiving a new Bible. For those of us who understand the joy of reading the Word, a Bible is so much more than just a book.
absolutely!! I use the youversion app for audio, is that different? I'll check Wonder bible out! edit: wow I just looked it up, it's an actual device! wow!
I completely relate to your search for the perfect bible. I’ve been looking for a study/cross reference bible and it’s so hard to find just the right one. I received a beautiful Bible that my brother sent me for my birthday the other day and it looks like the warehouse must have accidentally sliced the spine of it with a box cutter when they initially unpacked it. I didn’t want my brother to feel bad so I haven’t mentioned it to him but I really wish there was a way that I could get amazon to replace it. The print is very large too. I had never seen print that large. I want to find a bible with the book taps in it. Your bible is beautiful.
Nice! I wish there were a lot more options in Super Giant Print. I definitely plan to get one. May I suggest reading your NLT Chronologically and following a 90 day chronological plan on YouVersion? I recently did that with an NLT. I would sometimes put the narrator on too. It’s next level and puts everything in context and as one continuous story.
I love the audio Bible as it light , portable, has a long lasting rechargeable battery, doesn’t require data or internet, and can be used with or without headphones. Therefore it can go anywhere in a purse or be used at bed. It is a great augmentation to a physical Bible. I have bought and given away several.
exactly! or not having your glasses and not being able to read. I love it!!! It's so pretty especially after I put new tabs on it! (posting that video today)
I have over 30 bibles and a lot of study tools. I have not found a perfect bible yet. What I have found is I have several bibles for different purposes. I do have a journaling bible, but like you mentioned the print is still too small for my older eyes. I have a couple coloring bibles for when I just want to get more creative and color and meditate on the word as I do it. I have study bibles I use (like the Thompson Chain Reference Bible) for study and I use several translations when I go into deep bible studies. I like the NLT or New King James for when I just want to read and not have to deep dive. For study I love the ESV, King James and the NASB together with a Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and an interlinear bible set. I recently got a CSB and I am liking that one too, it's like the NLT. Sometimes I just want to read the word in plain modern English. CSB is newer and supposed to be the most accurate word for word and thought for thought, as opposed to using the NIV for a basic translation. But, I think ESV is supposed to be one of the most accurate and the NASB is the most literal. I could be wrong, but that is what I have learned so far. The earlier translations do have text that is not there that you will find in the KJV. Which makes me wonder if they were notes in the margin added in the KJV. I think finding the perfect bible is like finding a unicorn. So that's my excuse for buying so many! LOL
Absolutely LOVE this!!! Wow! Now you’re making me want to check out more translations! There is a coloring bible that I’ve had my eye on as well I love the idea of actually using different ones for different reasons! Thank you for your comment! 🙏❤️
@@DejaDrewit Yes! The way I see it, is the word of God is alive and is such a personal part of our life that I just cannot settle on one bible for all things. And so I have finally given up on that one perfect bible and just found bibles that suited my needs. I even have a smaller personal bible I have dedicated to prayer. I used colorful post it's to write subjects and stick them on those pages with that verse. Such as, when I am feeling anxiety, sadness, or it's health related (so verses about God's promises or healing), etc. I flip to that verse and pray talking to God about it. I know some people this will not work, I think for those of us who are more creative or maybe just really love to nerd out over the word this is helpful. It's so personal right? As for coloring bibles I have "My Promise Bible" and I have the NLT Inspire FAITH Bible. They have an entire series of coloring bibles. Be careful with that rabbit hole! LOL PS I could not help it, I went and just bought your rose gold bible. Haha! It's on sale on Amazon right now.
I recently bought a very late print NLT and I love it. A nice big 14 font. Like you I want the font size. Personally I won’t even consider a bible that does not have at least a 10 pt. Font.
My sister and my daughter both have "favorite" Bibles. They were surprised that none of my current Bibles are my favorite. (Mind, I am not rich and have a limited collection.) I guess if I could make a favorite, it would have: *The NKJV translstion *A verse-by-verse layout (It's easier for me to read that way.) *Double columns * No red letters (Red letters are hard for me to focus on.) *Cross references *Larger font (I am middle aged.) *Helps in the back (Concordance, maps, etc.) *Nice paper *A pretty cover

Greetings in the Lord sister. I love your enthusiasm! Have you considered the Simplified KJV chestnut floral? I would also recommend you to get a Thompson Chain Reference bible (it's available in KJV, NKJV, and others) for study.
I had to start buying large print versions of my Bibles because of vision problems, called old age! I have only purchased the Bibles with a few references and narrowed down two of my most used Study Bibles carefully before buying them because they are more costly than the regular Bibles with references. I own and use several translations because they help me gain better understanding of difficult passages. Every Bible I own has highlighting and underlining and a few notes. That's just how I roll! :)
I feel the same way. I am a failry new believer in Christ (6 months) I had a 10$ NIV Bible which served me well, but it was falling apart. I got an NASB Bible with 11 font. Which is good enough to read. But I feel the same, the excitement to read a new Bible is real
